Don’t think this photo is from the 90s.  That old gas cylinder, dangerous to use indoors, holds a “place of honor” in the Manukyan family. Why? Because of the cursed poverty. The boy in the photo is 9-year-old David, a lively and bright child whose heart burns with love for his country and God. David dreams of having a bicycle and a ball.

David (9 years old): I’ve dreamed of a bike and a ball for so long, but it’s just a dream that hasn’t come true.  City kids probably all have a ball, but for children like me, living in the village, dreams don’t always come true. If I had a bike, I would give rides to other kids from poor families like mine. If I had a ball, I would train on the field like real football players do. And maybe one day, I could become a world-famous player. My country would be proud of me too.

Reporter: David, who’s your favorite football player?

David: Ronaldu. And I dream of having his jersey.

Look at this child holding such an old, worn-out sneaker. It’s so old… God, it’s already cold, and snow is falling. Winter is coming soon, with frost. And this angel doesn’t have warm clothes or winter boots. Shyly, he told the Fund’s reporter that his dream is to have leather boots and a warm jacket with a hood.
