I don’t get invited to birthday parties because I can’t afford to bring a gift!

Friends, on January 17, Venera from Chiatura will turn 13. Would you like to know why this girl doesn’t look forward to her birthday? Because she’s never celebrated it. In her large family with six children, there’s no way to prepare a festive meal or buy a cake.  You can’t invite friends to a birthday party with just a pot of beans! But the most hurtful part is that Venera herself isn’t invited to other kids’ birthday parties because everyone knows—she’ll come empty-handed. Venera collects scrap metal to make sure she and her family don’t go hungry. Where could she get money for a birthday gift? Venera dreams of a beautiful party with balloons and colorful decorations. She wants to invite her friends over and have fun together! And she really wishes for her own projector— not just for entertainment but also for schoolwork. Unfortunately, her parents can’t afford to buy her this important gift. So this dream will stay just a dream unless kind people come together to make this young girl happy on her 13th birthday. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to see a big smile on her face?
