Raul was only 20 days old when a high fever caused him to have severe seizures. There was no doctor in the village, and by the time they got him to the district center he got paralyzed. The devastating diagnosis was cerebral palsy (CP). His parents were shocked – they hadn’t yet recovered from a horrific tragedy: their firstborn daughter, just 1 year and 8 months old, had died of diphtheria. Imagine how hard it was for them to accept their son’s condition! For 26 years, Raul has lived with constant pain. His left leg is so twisted it can’t be straightened. Raul’s spine is severely curved, which has deformed his internal organs. Even breathing is painful for him. He cannot go without painkillers and sedatives. He’s been in a wheelchair since childhood. It has replaced his legs, as he cannot take even a few steps on his own.

REPOST RIGHT AWAY, MY GOOD MAN! HELP YOUR FRIENDS FIND THE WAY TO GOD!
Raul (26 years old): “Friends, I need an electric wheelchair. Sitting in my old one has become torture. I can’t go anywhere on the manual one without help—I’m essentially trapped within four walls. It makes me so sad. Recently, they paved a road in our village, so with a motorized wheelchair, I could finally get out and go wherever I want! I can manage it with one hand, I know I can!”
Raul has three siblings. His family lives in poverty and they cannot save enough money to buy what he needs. Together, we can help this brave young man and his loving family. Let’s do it together!
The wheelchair Raul uses now was built by his father, pieced together from three old ones. He welded on missing parts himself. But as you can imagine, it’s far from functional.
In one photo, little Raul is sitting on his grandfather’s lap, surrounded by relatives. He was always the family’s favorite – smiling, cheerful, kind, and affectionate.
There’s another challenge: the bathroom in the house isn’t wheelchair accessible. The doorway is too narrow, so Raul’s parents have to carry him in their arms to get him there.
We ask you to help this young man who has fought his illness his entire life. He’s endured unimaginable hardships and survived, but now he needs our help!
Let’s give Raul the gift of freedom, the chance to move around on his own: to go for a walk, visit the store, or see his friends. These are small joys, but even those are now out of Raoul’s reach. Let’s bring them back to him!
If you are willing to visit the family and help them in person, here is their address: Aspindza Municipality, Mirashkhani village.
Every time you can help someone, just do it, and rejoice that God answers someone’s prayers through you!
