Dear, sweet Mate… This seven-year-old boy cannot walk – and has almost come to accept it. Friends, let us pray for him and light a candle in his name. For the Lord has the power to change any diagnosis. Even the terrible sentence the doctors have given this poor child: they say he is unlikely to live past the age of 15… Friends, let’s search the internet together for new treatments that might help him. Let’s not bury hope before its time.

Because he cannot walk, Mate has to crawl to get around. Without a wheelchair, he cannot even go outside and spends all his time confined within four walls. Surely, nothing would bring him more joy than a wheelchair.

Mate (age 7): “If I had a wheelchair, my knees wouldn’t be scraped from crawling on the floor. I could go outside, talk to other children – and my little sister could push me along the seashore.”

Unlike other children, Mate sadly cannot play football or ride a bike. So what can bring joy to this little boy’s world? He dreams of a tablet, a window to the world he may never get to walk through himself.

Mate: “After a wheelchair, what I’d love most is a tablet. With it, I could travel the world – at least the virtual one.”

People with kind hearts – remember: only you can bring light into these sad, dark eyes. Friends, we urge you: please do not remain indifferent when you hear of someone’s suffering. Get this person to call our Fund right away!
