Higher Magnesium Intake May Slow Brain Aging
A recent study from the Australian National University found that a magnesium-rich diet may slow brain aging and reduce the risk of dementia – especially in women.
Researchers analyzed health data from more than 6,000 people aged 40 to 73 and found that those who consumed over 550 mg of magnesium per day had brains that, by age 55, appeared nearly one year younger than those of people with lower magnesium intake. This suggests that magnesium may play a key role in maintaining cognitive health with age.
