Love them with your WHOLE HEART, just as the Lord loves you. These children are not street beggars. They have the same rights as our own children do! They are Georgian children. You cannot hurt them, you cannot make them grow up believing they come from “poor families,” that nobody in Georgia needs them. Let them have whatever their hearts long for – so long as it doesn’t interfere with school. Love them the way God loves you.
The moment the door opened, the house exploded with children’s voices. They whirled around me like tiny planets, each carrying a secret wish.
One boy gently touched our microphone and whispered, afraid to scare his dream away: “If I had a bicycle… I would ride far, far away – to a place where there is no poverty.” I thought to myself: “My God, those are the words of an old wise man… from a child.”
Then his little brother came up and said: “I just want a new school backpack… so I don’t have to hide in the hallway from kids laughing at me.”
Another child stayed silent for a long time, then lifted his eyes:
“I need a tablet so I can study.”
And the youngest one whispered: “Could we… have a big New Year’s tree? So we can have a holiday at home too?”

Friends, we would gladly decorate this tree with the names of each and every one of you who gave the Digmelashvili family a real New Year’s fairytale – who helped turn an unfinished shack on the outskirts of the city into a place filled not with children’s tears, but with laughter.
Toko’s happiness is quiet – cuddled up with the tablet he had dreamed of. Gabriel’s joy is fast, lively, and loud – racing on his new bicycle.
Lili’s happiness sparkles – her prickly little Christmas tree, shining with lights. Sandro is full of wide-eyed wonder, while Nikoloz’s joy bubbles over into playful mischief
