“Rosy cheeks,
and each shines in the fire,
and those blue eyes
are not even thinking to sleep”.
When I read the lines of the poet, after whom I named my beloved daughter, her eyes
light up. I am sure that she feels how much she is loved and how my soul misses
her! I love her with all my heart! – says Tamara Targamadze, the mother of
18-year old Anna, sick with epilepsy!
Over two years, these poor women lost their breadwinner – father, whose good
heart “broke” when he saw another attack of his daughter’s disease!
She had epileptic seizures. Holy Moses! God forbid anyone experience this
with their child. Real horror! She wriggles, falls to the floor or bangs her
head against the wall, screams, and sometimes even faints.”
God knows how much strength and energy she puts into her daughter so that she
would live!
“Lord, – she prayed in front of us, – don’t leave my daughter while I go
to the store! And He helps! Once, after buying food, I had to go to the
pharmacy, but something told my heart: “hurry home!” I run into the
apartment like crazy and see my daughter lying on the bed all covered with
blood and moaning. It turned out that she pierced her eye with a pencil…”,
– Tamara recalls.
Tamara can be called a mother heroine, all alone caring for the sick
daughter, fighting for every minute of her life and God knows – how much
strength and energy she puts into her daughter!
Neighbors helped Tamara to install a metal entrance door so that Anna would not
run away from home. When the mother goes to the store for food, the sick
daughter has to be closed in the room, in the hope that she will not hurt
herself.
– And how does Anna sleep at night, is she often disturbed by the attacks?
Tamara Targamadze: The attacks can be at night and by day. No one knows what it
depends on. And she sleeps restlessly, constantly turning in bed. I don’t
actually sleep myself. Only three hours a day. What else can I do? I noticed
that when the moon is full, Anna sleeps peacefully at night. Then I look at her
face, illuminated by the moonlight, and suddenly there is a peaceful smile.
She’s probably dreaming about a guardian angel who warms, soothes and lulls
her…
– She’s like a little child, right?
Tamara Targamadze: Yes, she is grown up, but her nature
has not changed. She’s the same child she was 18 years ago. You see, children’s
toys are scattered everywhere. She still plays with them. Oh, I’m sorry, I’m
going to take Anna away from the window, or she might fall out. But today she
is more or less calm. I gave her a sedative and an epilepsy medication. I’m so
scared when we run out of drugs. I have no money to buy the vital medicine!
– It turns out that your main need is medicines?
Tamara Targamadze: That’s right. Otherwise she will not be able to live. I beg
you, good people, to put yourselves into my shoes and extend a helping hand to
my unfortunate daughter. I believe in You!
