Mariam understands that she can manage with stale bread, but what about her baby brother?
Mariam was born with a heart defect. She was just 10 months old when she underwent surgery. Since then, she hasn’t been to a doctor because her parents can’t afford it. The girl has only one set of clothes—and those are summer clothes. She desperately needs warm clothing. It doesn’t matter what kind, as long as it’s warm enough to keep her feet from freezing. In winter, Mariam walks to school in sneakers.
More than anything, Mariam dreams of learning to dance, but physical activity is prohibited because of her heart condition. Instead, she enjoys learning dances on TikTok.
