When our correspondent arrived, the children greeted her with such genuine joy, as if they had been waiting for a real miracle.
“Auntie, did you come to make our wishes come true?” asked ten-year-old Anastasia, her eyes shining.
This is the Gabidauri family – seven brothers and sisters, seven little angels, living in hardship and waiting with hope for our help.
“Please, I want school supplies, a bed, and toys,” Anastasia said trustingly.
Before she could even finish, her 8-year-old sister Mariam ran up to her and hurriedly shared her own dream:
“Please, I want the same.”
Their mother, single mother Khatuna, is doing her best to make sure the children don’t lack anything. But the closer the new school year approaches, the harder it becomes to cope with need. Just think: how much does even one child require?
And now imagine having seven… This courageous Georgian mother is in desperate need of our support.
When you look into these children’s eyes, it is impossible to remain indifferent. There is so much purity, trust, and love in them, that your heart aches at the thought that their little dreams might go unfulfilled. To refuse them would be like betraying the innocence of childhood. We can give them joy, hope, and faith in a better future.
