A white shirt and black jeans… That’s what a socially disadvantaged Georgian family of two people with disabilities dreams about. Eleven-year-old Nikoloz, a first-degree disabled, made his way to school on crutches. All summer long, the boy dreamed of starting school in a new white shirt and black jeans. But sadly, his dream never came true. And do you know why? Because the friends of the Chernovetskyi Fund didn’t know about it. Now the Fund believes that starting next week, Nikoloz will finally come to school dressed in the most beautiful clothes.
This modest boy hesitated for a long time before admitting his wish to the Fund’s correspondent. And then he whispered quietly: “I want to go to school in nice clothes, like other children.” Friends of the Fund, will you really allow this boy, already so burdened by disability, to keep going to school in thin, worn-out clothes?
“Some children wrote in the comments under my video that I am a beggar, and told me not to post videos anymore,” – 11-year-old Nikoloz shared with the Lord his pain and sorrow.
(Nikoloz, 11) – “I can’t play with the other kids, and during PE lessons I stay in the classroom. At home, I don’t go outside the gate either, because the children in my neighborhood don’t befriend me and laugh at me. That’s why my biggest dream is to have a tablet. I would download games and watch interesting videos about animals on YouTube.
I dream of having a jacket, but I don’t have one.”
Nikoloz’s mother is also a first-degree disabled. What can this poor mother do? How can she fulfill her child’s dreams if she doesn’t even have money for medicine or a doctor?
For many years now, Nikoloz has hopelessly dreamed of just one toy. With a set of building blocks, this poor boy could create his own dream world. A world so different from the harsh reality he has to live in.
A disabled boy, often mocked, often in pain, yet he has not grown bitter.
Even when he is hungry himself, he shares his food with animals. That’s how big this little boy’s heart is.
Kind-hearted people, at the Fund we believe that this blessed child will touch your hearts too. We believe that one morning, thanks to you, Nikoloz will discover his dream toys – and realize that this world has far more kind people than those who mock him for his disability and poverty.
