Prayers, tears, and small dreams that can save children’s souls… One single act of kindness from us can give them hope again.
These children have almost never known a normal, carefree childhood. First, a cruel illness took their father away. Now their mother is fighting the same merciless disease. Every day they pray for just one thing – that their mother will recover, and that cancer will not leave them orphans.
During the interview, when I asked Elene and Sandro what they dreamed of, both of them first answered quietly: “That our mom would be healthy…” But then their childlike sincerity broke through, and they admitted their small, innocent wishes.
Elene said: “I really want a tablet so I can watch videos on YouTube and learn new things.”
And Sandro asked for a scooter so he could do tricks on it.
God, there is so much sadness in their eyes, and so much pain in their young lives. Don’t these children deserve to have their simple, pure dreams come true?
Friends, look at them – they have been deprived of almost all childhood joys. They have no proper school supplies, no backpacks, no books, no decent clothes. Should any child in the world fall asleep every night thinking they might lose their mother?
We can give these children at least one truly happy day. We can fill their hearts with joy through small, but so deeply desired gifts.
