“Ma’am, do you have a Barbie doll? Please, can I play with it for a little while? I won’t break anything, I promise…” – These were the words of three-year-old Emily – and she sighed in a way that made it feel as if her tiny heart sighed with her.

All it takes is one look into a child’s eyes to understand:
poverty has taken her childhood, but it has not taken her hope. Yes, this little angel still believes that one day a kind magician will bring her a Barbie doll.

Emili, 3-year-old: “Auntie, I also dream of a pink dress. Like the ones Barbie dolls wear. Auntie, I wear such old clothes that maybe that’s why the good fairy doesn’t bring me toys or sweets…”
