Georgian children from an extremely poor family – what did they do to deserve this? Aren’t they Georgians too? Should they really feel like outcasts in their own country? Do the adults of Georgia not hear their voices through the tears? Will no one embrace them as their own? “We don’t have any toys… but we’re children too.”
These seven beautiful Georgian children live in extreme poverty. Their parents are trying their absolute best, but there isn’t enough money for the essentials, let alone for children’s dreams.
12-year-old Teona is crying because other children have everything, while she and her siblings have almost nothing. Is this fair?! She dreams of a bicycle. She just wants a simple piece of childhood happiness – to ride in the yard with her friends.
11-year-old Monica watches her classmates do their homework on laptops while she tries to manage without one. Her laptop broke a long time ago, and buying a new one is impossible.
Monica, 11: “I do karate – I love it. I try hard and train at home without any equipment, just imagining that someday I will have everything I need for the sport.”
8-year-old Zura has no toys. None at all. He dreams of a simple remote-controlled car.
Zura, 8: “I would love to have a big car so my brothers, sisters, and I could all fit in and take turns playing with it! But we are children, after all.”
Janna, 10: “I dream of rollerblades. And also, a little toy kitchen. When I grow up, I’m going to be a chef.”

Corr: I look at them all together – seven children from one large family – and I realize: it’s not just toys they lack. They are missing the simple childhood that every child deserves.
We could say, “It’s none of our business.”
But then, who will these children have left?
Who will make them feel that the world can be kind?

A Little Boy Gets His Childhood Back
“Wow! A car! A remote-controlled car! I’m a cool guy now!” – Alex, 4 years old

And dreams do come true…
For the first time in his life, little Alex has a toy of his own – the very car he had been dreaming about.

On the left, you can see a photo of Alex taken about a month ago. How dim the eyes of this little angel looked back then. And on the right is the same Alex after receiving his long-awaited gifts.

Gifts sent with love by the friends of the Chernovetskyi Fund.

The trousers and T-shirts chosen for four-year-old Alex delighted him so much that he immediately began posing for the camera.

Just look at this boy. His photograph could brighten any billboard.

And here are the sweets donated by “Tkbili Kvekana.”

I hope you never forget these eyes – eyes that now shine with happiness thanks to your kindness and support, dear friends.
