“Mom, I’m hungry!” – desperate cries of little Fatima are heard. “Mum, Nedjo is having seizure again!” – Ramazan yells. Nedjo writhes on the floor. Such horrible convulsions happen to the poor child almost every day. “Mum, Mariam ran out of diapers!” – Tsiala is looking for diapers for her sister… At this moment, mom Elene covers her ears with her hands and just wants to jump out of the window and disappear, escaping from the problems that are falling from all sides! But no! She can’t do that! Although she has health problems herself, she will never do that! She is a single mother. If she’s gone, what then? What will happen to her angels then? What will happen to little Nedjo? He will completely lose his mind! What will happen to little blue-eyed Mariam, who has just learned to walk and now constantly calls for mommy… Or to Tsiala, or Ramazan, or Fatima – the smartest and most talented one? Children don’t know when their birthday is. They don’t even know what these words mean. They

Mommy, mommy, Nejo is having a very bad seizure!

REPOST RIGHT AWAY, MY GOOD MAN! HELP YOUR FRIENDS TO GET CLOSER TO THE WORK OF MERCY!

They never celebrate it, friends never come to visit them with presents, they never blow out candles on cakes…

Little Mariam doesn’t yet understand that her mother doesn’t have money, so she constantly asks for food

Elene: I’m thinking about how to make soup out of two potatoes. I went out and borrowed them from the fruit and vegetable store. I think I’ll pay it back after I receive social allowance. But how can I always bother people? Half of the social allowance goes for rent. Recently, the cost of rent has gone up significantly, we are “lucky” to be in these horrible conditions. This is the maximum I can afford. If we are kicked out from here or the price goes up, where do we go?  We’ll probably end up on the street…

This is the bathroom, everything is leaking, everything needs to be fixed…

  • Have you ever had an apartment?

Elene: We used to have it. When Nedjib was born, we noticed developmental problems. His treatment was very expensive. We mortgaged our apartment to pay for it. Then the exchange rate went up. We couldn’t afford his treatment and the interest, so we eventually sold the apartment. We used the remaining money for Nedjib. He suffered a lot. I couldn’t bear to see my son suffer. We tried everything, spent everything, and ended up without a roof over our heads. His condition improved just slightly – he started speaking short phrases. He is now 10 years old, but he is in second grade. We are all affectionate with him, trying not to irritate him. If he loses his temper, he screams, cries, and we cannot calm him down. He is registered at a psychiatric clinic. They give us medication. These are very powerful drugs. When he has a seizure and I give him medication, he sleeps all day and becomes unresponsive. I feel sorry for my son when I see him in such a state. I cannot afford to take him to other doctors, it’s not within my means. I probably will never have such an opportunity…

Nedjib looks like a little angel when he’s calm, doesn’t he? But during seizures, it seems like a demon possesses him

Ramadan helps Nejib in his studies, but Nejib does not succeed – it is hard for him to even make a full sentence

  • Does your spouse help you?

Elene: My spouse left me a year and a half ago when I was pregnant with little Mariam.  He couldn’t handle the stress, the deprivation.  That’s how men get out of unwanted situations – by running away. But mothers are different; they will never leave you.   My spouse sometimes comes to see the children, but he cannot help us financially. He works as a laborer.  He cannot do anything else. His income is barely for himself. How can he help me?

Ramazani (13-year-old): Our dad comes to see us. Sometimes he even brings candies. And I dream of shawarma. Once, my classmate bought it for me – it was so delicious.  I want someone to buy it for me again…

“When I think about it, I dream of a bicycle, and then I remember that my dreams never come true…  I am very poor!”

Fatima (6-year-old): Will you share shawarma with me?  I don’t want soup anymore.

Ramazani: There will be soup, more soup, and always soup…

Tsiala (12-year-old): Have you ever thought that sometimes we don’t even have that?  Mariam needs milk, matsoni and diapers…

“I really want my friends to come to my house, but I’m embarrassed of it.  I’m afraid they’ll make fun of me”

Ramazani: What are you guys like!  I can’t even dream with you…

Fatima: When dreams don’t come true, what’s the point of such a dream?!  Our dreams never came true! And they will never come true!

Elene: They ask me for so many things, but I can’t do anything.  Neighbors give us clothes – my children have never worn anything new. Shoes are always a problem. Fati studies well, and she’s been asking me for a tablet for so long.  Bu it is impossible for me to buy one! What tablet are we talking about when I don’t have money even for notebooks and pens. My children never had holidays… I put the kids to bed early on New Year’s so their hearts wouldn’t hurt. This is not life, it’s torture…

“This is the only doll I found. It was lying on the street, like my brother Nedjib. I brought it for my sister – she doesn’t have any toys at all, and she really needs them!”

  • Have you addressed the local authorities for help?

Elene: I applied to the municipality, wrote a statement requesting to be added to the homeless list. They refused me!  They refused a mother of five who found herself on the street, who gives half of her allowance to pay for this horrible house and uses the other half to try to save her children from starving to death.   I wonder, who is entitled to housing? I cried all day that day. My children cried with me because they were hungry and cold…

“God protect us so we don’t die from gas poisoning or cold”

  • You don’t have heating?

Elene: We are sitting on this bomb (points to the gas heater) Gas sometimes leaks.  When we feel the smell, we turn it off, and then we try to warm ourselves up by hugging each other.

Fatima: Don’t we all sleep huddled together?

Elene: We don’t have enough beds. The bed on which the girls sleep is put on bricks. You see, this sofa is falling apart. Neither the sponge nor the frame is good.

“The main thing is for Mariam not to starve, otherwise if she starts crying, we can go deaf”

  • What else do you need besides a bed?

Elene: First of all, we need food. We need a washing machine. Everything you see here belongs to the owner and does not work. We also need a gas stove.

Ramazani: The TV doesn’t work either. It is also their – of those to whom mom pays money.

Elene: Mariam turned one year old.  She still wears diapers. I’m trying to wean her off them, but it’s not working yet. I am embarrassed to say how hard it is without diapers. Oh, you better ask me what we don’t need, otherwise a day won’t be enough to list what we need…

“Our fridge does not work! I don’t even dream of a fridge, what’s the point? What do I have to put inside? We have no food!”

Fatima: Auntie, why are you asking us what we need?

  • We want to tell kind people about the wonderful children who live in this horrible house. To tell them about what they need, what they dream of, and what will make their little hearts happy.

Fatima: Then these kind people will come to us and give us gifts?

  • Of course, sweetheart! Lots of gifts.

Fatima: Can I ask you to bring a doll for my little sister too? I don’t want her to grow up like me… without any toys…

The Chelidze Family

“I raised this angel, always helping my mom take care of her. I want at least her to be a happy child!”

“I can do without food – the main thing is that there’s at least something in Mariam’s bottle!”

***

These words of Fatima finally broke our hearts. We looked at the sad faces and dull eyes of these children. We saw how Ramazan helped his mother, how he took care of his sick younger brother. How Tsiala and Fati changed the diapers of little Mariam, how they dressed her in a faded dress… Don’t these kids deserve more?   My dear friends! We must change their gray life and color it somehow. The Chelidze family is waiting for your help, and we always hope for your kindness!

You can visit this very poor large family. Their address is: Tbilisi, Gldani first micro district, building 16, apartment 2. This will make them very happy.

Every time you can help someone, just do it and rejoice that God answers someone’s prayers through you!

We are sure that all together we will manage to save them from imminent death.

Please don’t forget to repost our story. Let your friends know about the grief of this family! It’s extremely important!

REPOST RIGHT AWAY, MY GOOD MAN! HELP YOUR FRIENDS TO GET CLOSER TO THE WORK OF MERCY!

You’re amazing! A thousand likes from all of us for the gifts and emotions

“For the past three months, Mom has been buying us whatever we want,” – says Ramazan. “It’s never been like this before. For example, we wanted khinkali and dumplings, and she bought them for us. It’s so cool! She even got us curd snacks and pastries.  I wish it could be like this forever!  You’re helping Mom, right? Will you continue to be friends with us?”

You’re great friends. You do so much for us.  My sneakers are awesome!  The new sofa is fantastic! Everyone loves to lie on it. Mom’s gifts have arrived too – a refrigerator and a gas stove. Now Mom doesn’t worry much about food, she worries just about where we’ll live.

Single mom Elene managed to save five kids from hunger, trusting the readers of the Fund. But other serious problems are still left. A family with a one-year-old girl and 10-year-old critically ill Nejo is at risk of being put on the streets

– What did we manage to help you with, Elene? Did it become a little easier?

Elene: The thing I feared the most in the world was that hunger would kill us all. You’ve relieved me of that panic-stricken fear that never left me. With God’s help, with your help, I have the confidence that we won’t starve to death. Whenever the food was running out, and fear attacked me, I would call the Fund, and they immediately transferred me funds for groceries.  Not just for grains but for proper food – meat, fish, oil, fruits.  Right now, I have chicken and fish in my freezer. I think the kids’ favorite activity has become opening the refrigerator (she smiles).   We didn’t even have a refrigerator before, you remember that. Even my tiny food reserves would go bad in a day.

Elene: “I think the children’s favorite activity is opening the refrigerator

And when I cooked on our old two-burner stove, we had to call the fire department.  It was leaking gas!

Ramazan (13-year-old): The flames would rise so high, as if a genie would appear any moment!  And we would scream, and mom would quickly turn off the gas.  We were afraid to approach it. We would eat undercooked pasta and potatoes, just to avoid any fire hazards.

With the new stove, you can fry potatoes properly

Cooking has become safe. The “fire genie” no longer appears from the new stove

Tsiala (12-year-old): I also remember that horror. Now mom has a great gas stove. She takes care of it, makes sure nothing spills. And I use it carefully too.  We also have a new thing in the kitchen – a cabinet. We put all the dishes in there. Before, everything was piled on top.

Ramazan: The old sofa’s “guts” (foam and springs – ed.) were coming out. And some metal parts stuck into your body.  Suddenly something pricked you when you sat on it.  But this new one is soft and comfortable.

Children like this sofa. It’s soft, cozy, and doesn’t prick like the old one

Elene: What else is new? My little girl Mari behaves much better when she’s well cared for and has a diaper on. Thanks to you, I bought a large supply of diapers. If only I had the means before, she wouldn’t have cried so much. She’s a wonderful girl, and she’s not cranky.

“When I have diapers and a ‘not hungry’ tummy, I won’t cry”

– Have you met anyone from our readers?

Elene: Sure! But I didn’t remember their names.  I was so happy when I saw that they brought groceries that everything flew out of my head.  Sorry about that. I was taken aback, got excited…

When you first posted, a husband and wife came by their SUV.  Oh, the trunk was full of groceries: seven kilos of potatoes, five kilos of lobio, the same amount of sugar, rice, pasta, four liters of sunflower oil, soda for the kids, candies, cookies, chocolate… Good people, warm-hearted, and generous. I love such people. They don’t forget about others when they live comfortably themselves.

A wonderful woman, a doctor, a neurologist, came to visit us. She brought the children a cake and pastries.  Fatima opened the door for her, and she gave the child the cake.  She gave her that emotion.  My daughter’s face lit up – her eyes immediately sparkled. And she shared the cake with her siblings.

Once, we all left the house to visit you at the Fund and left a note with our phone number on the door in case someone came to visit us.  And indeed, during that time, a kind woman came.  We got in touch, met – she wanted to give Ramazan and Tsiala shoes. And she fulfilled their wish.  The older kids got new shoes, as you can see.

Ramazan: “For three months, we’ve had delicious food, I hope it continues that way…”

Someone paid off our electricity debt… I don’t know your names, but I already know your souls!  They are wonderful, beautiful, and compassionate.  I admire how doing good deeds is like a constant job for you. You never stop rescuing people, and I read all your stories. Sometimes they are such difficult cases, seemingly hopeless, with so much suffering, yet you take them on fearlessly.  You even pull them out of poverty and illness.  You’ve given me so much inspiration!

– Elena, did the government or local authorities get involved in resolving the problems in any manner?

Elene: Ramazan and Ciala were enrolled for free in a football section. We have a new stadium here in Gldani, that’s good. But they don’t want to help with housing.  Soon (within a month), they will evict us.  The landlady is selling this apartment and doesn’t want to hear anything else. I’m looking for an apartment for 500-600 lari (as much as I can afford from the social allowance), but there’s nothing for that price.  There’s nothing available for less than 1000-800 lari.  And when they find out I have five children, the conversation is short – ‘no.’  It’s a situation that can drive one crazy.  Being on the streets with five children… But I won’t lose hope because you are with us… I have hope, and a great plea: please, help us…

We already know that it’s not possible to solve all of a family’s problems in one go.  That’s why, friends, you have the opportunity to continuously support families, even those from completed projects, and offer your help. For Elena, a mother of five children, the housing issue is crucial.  If you know how to solve the problem (by providing space, paying rent, or offering another option), please help the Chelidze family.  The family also regularly needs food, children’s clothing, and diapers.

If you have a heavy heart because of everyday problems or unresolved issues, as a distraction just see our posts on Facebook, or better call any of our beneficiaries, and all your problems will seem unimportant to you, compared with the problems of those to whom you helped in the most difficult moment of their lives.

Our problems are nothing if compared… Here are true misfortunes, in front of your eyes! Just thank the Lord for what you have. You are the happiest person in the world! Remember this and help those in need.

Unfortunately, problems of this and other families do not end here and now… Therefore, from time to time, look through the stories of unhappy people on our website, and talk to them. Every time you dial the Phone of an unhappy person, God is blessing you! For sure! Go on helping these families! This is the best service to the Lord!
