This humble boy becomes truly brave only when he plays the drum. The main dream of the “music boy” is to attend accordion classes. A gifted child wants to enter the world of music, but poverty has clipped the wings of his dreams Nikolai’s mother saves every penny to buy medicine for her dying, bedridden mother.

Nikolai (9-year-old): I dream hopelessly of a big toy car with a motor. I also really want a T-shirt with a car design on it.

Nikolai: “There’s a store near my house – I see those shirts through the window. But I don’t even dare to walk inside… They probably wouldn’t let me in anyway, because I’m a poor kid.”

Nikolai: “If I had a tablet, I’d watch YouTube videos where they teach how to play the accordion and how to dance. Auntie, I know I’m dreaming without hope, but even just dreaming makes me happy.”
