Так вышло, что мы с вами – самые близкие люди для этой одинокой супружеской пары. И кроме нас с вами, Дали и Акакию больше не на кого рассчитывать. У тяжелобольных супругов нет ни собственного дома, ни лекарств и еды. Они продали всё, что у них было, чтобы оплатить лечение. И теперь им приходится скитаться дворами, чтобы не платить за аренду жилья. Дали (60 лет): «Если бы не соседи, нас бы давно не было – умерли бы голодной смертью или замёрзли. Добрейшая женщина Тея делится с нами своим куском хлеба и дровами. Но ведь у неё семья, она многодетная мать. Мы ей очень благодарны. Пусть Господь благословит её! Своих детей у нас нет, поэтому о нас некому позаботиться». Сколько боли и трудностей может выдержать человек?

Saba is just four years old. He suffers from a severe retinal disease—retinopathy—that could lead to complete blindness in just a few days. Right now, he can only see objects very close to him. Everything else is like a blur, shrouded in fog.  His vision is deteriorating rapidly, and nothing seems to stop it. The day Saba was born should have been the happiest day of his mother’s life. Instead, she heard the devastating words in the delivery room: “Your son isn’t breathing.” Saba’s life began with resuscitation, doctors, and a tough battle for survival. He miraculously pulled through, but it was later revealed that he had a congenital eye defect—retinal detachment – that caused him to lose his vision.

Mirian was 35 years old when, on that fateful evening, a car struck him as he stood on the sidewalk. The driver lost control, and the blood of an innocent young man was spilled. Mirian suffered injuries that were deemed incompatible with life. His head injuries were so severe that doctors gave him less than a one percent chance of survival. He had multiple skull fractures, and you can probably imagine what that means. Mirian spent three months in a coma. The first surgery was performed in Moscow, but his condition only worsened afterward. Following the unsuccessful surgery, Mirian was transported to Georgia by a mobile resuscitation vehicle. In total, the poor young man underwent four brain surgeries. And throughout all this time, he felt nothing, perceived nothing, and was barely distinguishable from the dead—except that he was breathing. But Mirian’s heroic mother refused to give up. This poor woman achieved the impossible for her son. Indeed, after the fourth brain surgery, with God’s help, Mirian emerged from his critical condition, and for the first time, he had a real chance of survival.

When a three-year-old little angel saw the Fund reporter, he placed his tiny hand on his throat as if begging for help. His eyes pleaded: “Save me.” It’s impossible for any human heart to endure such a heartbreaking scene. Three-year-old twins Levan and David stand amidst the ruins of their burned-down home. A true tragedy has struck the Mchedlishvili family. The home where six small children were peacefully sleeping suddenly caught fire. Their mother’s desperate cries echoed to the heavens: “Save my children, Lord!” These little angels would have perished in the flames, leaving not even ashes behind, if not for God’s miracle.Miraculously saved from death, three-year-old twins Levan and David now cling to each other tightly. These poor children have nothing left in the world but the charred remains of their home.

Anna-Maria is crying from the cold. Can you imagine what a mother feels when she sees her children freezing every single day from cold and hunger? It’s nearly impossible to stay warm in their crumbling home. Instead of window glass, they have plastic sheeting. And this while a blizzard has been raging for days in the Gori district.
