Large family of Vardiashvili is deprived of everything that is considered
normal in the 21st century. Every day the family faces a choice – to feed four
children or to buy medicines for a sick daughter, without which there will be
an imminent death. What would you do, friends, if you had such a choice?

Nino and Vazha got married early. Nino was 15, and Vazha was 18. Vazha
served in the army and his unit was located in the village not far from Nino’s
house. She immediately fell in love with a cute guy in military uniform! He,
too, was not indifferent to the young beauty.

Then he asked her out on a date, and promised that as soon as the service
was over, they would get married!

Nino was still a child herself. She grew up without a father and Vazha
became everything to her! He was the most important person! When Nino was 17
years old, exactly 17 years ago, they had their first daughter! Everything was
normal, inexperienced parents could not expect anything wrong! Up to a year,
nothing foretold trouble. But then something in Tamara’s behavior changed. The
daughter lay for days on end, sometimes not even crying… A calm child,
parents were happy… But then epilepsy attacks began… Convulsions… They
sounded the alarm and it turned out to be cerebral palsy!

“It was… a verdict! I know that even cancer can be cured, but
cerebral palsy remains with a person until the end of life! He does not kill
immediately, but condemns the child and all his relatives to torment and
suffering.” – Nino told us.

– Nino, tell us about Your life.

Nino: For 17 years, my husband and I have not known a quiet life! Every day
we fight for the life of our daughter … But Tamara, we have 4 children more.
I know many people would say “why did you give birth”,  it would be easier to look after one
daughter! I want to tell such evil people: children are the grace of the Lord!
The one who refuses to have children says NO to God! Vazha and I have let God
enter our family through our children 5 times! And if he decides to give us his
little angel again, we will let him in!

– Nino, tell us about one of your normal days. They must be similar, right?

Nino: The day begins with Tamara crying… She always cries when she wakes
up! She always cries… My husband and I get up, dress her, I alone can not
cope with it, Tamara weighs 45 kilograms. My husband hasn’t worked for four
years. I do not cope alone. We need him… and the other kids also need our
attention.

Let me introduce you to them. Meggi is 13 years old. She is at school now.
She helps us very much. In fact, for the youngest children she is not only a
sister but also a mother.

This is our beautiful Catherine. She is 5. She’s our Princess! A
kind-hearted person… When I look at her, I tell myself, “Thank you,
Lord, for giving me the happiness of being her mother.”

Our only son Gavril is 3 years old. You know, he’s special! He has two
names. He’s Gavril-David! We waited so long for the boy that we decided to name
him after Saint Gabriel and after the most powerful king David! I know, I am
sure, he will proudly bear this name and do a lot of good things for our
Georgia!

And here’s another question: maybe I shouldn’t have given birth to him?
Isn’t that a God’s present?!

And here is Mariam… She is a year old… She is our joy! The
most obedient and the sweetest… If we thought like those “smart
people” who give advice not to give birth to children, now there would be
no such person as her! No Gavril, no Catherine… and now they are. And we are
all together.

– Nino, I’m going to ask you a very awkward question, but you can leave it
unanswered if you wish. Why don’t your relatives and friends help you?

Nino: If it was not for them, we would have died of hunger already. Do you
think you can survive with 600 lari? Tamara’s medications are expensive… Her
pension isn’t enough! We also need diapers. And there is less than 300 lari to
feed the children and pay for utilities and rent… Can someone teach me how to
do it?

– And now let me talk to the kids. Meggi, could I ask you, what are you
dreaming about?

Meggi (13 years old): I don’t even know… maybe I wigh something would
change in our lives! I wish mom and dad are healthy, and that Tamara doesn’t
cry… I need notebooks and pens for school. Probably that’s all…

Catherine (5 years old): I want my mother not to have a bad back and that
she could take me in her arms… So mom and dad and Meggie call me a Princess,
but have you seen a Princess without a beautiful dress? Or shoes? Or crown? If
I have any, then you can call me a Princess!

– Nino, you have wonderful kids! As you know, the articles of our Fund are
read by almost all of Georgia. They are read by officials from government
agencies. Do you expect there will be a resonance?

Nino: the only thing I ask, I beg, is not to let my children starve to
death! Help us to survive! I don’t know what to ask… Tamara needs tests; now
her body does not react to the medications that were prescribed a year ago…
She is getting worse and worse… And epilepsy attacks happen more and more
often… To tell the truth (Nino switched to a whisper) I am afraid to find her
dead every next morning… I am afraid for her life… and I can’t examine her.

– Address our readers!

Nino: I think I’ve already said too much. Now everyone has their own problems…
and here I am, with my children… no one is obliged to read this. But I
believe that Georgians do not leave their compatriots in trouble! And officials
are like people from another planet. They don’t understand the pain of others.

Dear friends, Chernovetskyi Fund initiates a charitable action: to help the
Vardiashvili. As you know, the Fund does not stop at one-time assistance.
Georgians should live as the proudest nation on earth – Georgians!

To survive, the family is in dire need of food, hygiene products, beds and
lothes, as well as household appliances and medical inspection for Tamara! Help
them survive! “Write them down” as your relatives. And we are sure that
the Lord himself will bless you.

And even more: call Nino, find out about their needs, cheer them up,
support them, tell her that she is not alone and that nobody will leave them
alone in their trouble! It is very important.

You can personally know them, provide assistance to this family, and God
will bless you. And reward You! Here’s their contact number: 599 45 44 53
Address: Lagodehi, the village of Tela.

And be sure to repost our publication. Let all your friends know about the
grief of this family! It is very important.

God gives us the opportunity to take care of people who are not able to do
it themselves. Not all people are the same. And not everyone is as kind as we
are. Please, do not pass aside the sorrow of others! Unhappy people are given to
us from above so that we can prove our faith to the Almighty not in words but
in deeds!

Friends, there is one more request, if you know about the misfortune of a
neighbor or friend, do a Charitable deed, write to us by

And more, friends, be sure to find an opportunity to support disadvantaged
Georgians with kind words. And give toys or candies to the children, and in
return they will send their smiles to you. We are all one family. These people
must know that we are together and always close!

How good it is to feel that we are not strangers in our Motherland!

“We couldn’t even dream of such things! – exclaims Nino right at the entrance. She is the mother of four wonderful kids, one of them, 17-year-old daughter Tamara, is seriously ill. – We could never buy such a huge TV … It is beyond our means! And the food?! So much food! Maybe it’s difficult for you to understand the feeling when you realize that your children are finally full?! “

When we published a heartbreaking post about them named “Despair is our destiny!” the Vardiashvilis, a kind and wonderful Georgian family, were on the edge of an abyss, exhausted by their struggle to survive.

https://chernovetskyifund.ge/en/projects/finished/547-1/description/

Now, friends, thanks to your mercy and our joint efforts, smiles shine on the faces of these wonderful children, and their sonorous laughter sounds in the house non-stop – they are finally full and for the first time on New Year’s Eve they will be able to watch Christmas films and programs on a big screen of their new TV that you have donated them! It was you who made this holiday truly bright and cheerful for them.

– Nino, how has your life changed since we published an article about you?

Nino: Do you know the feeling when your children are hungry, and you try to figure out how to feed them, but realize that there is no way out and there is nowhere to get any food? So, thanks to you, my children ate their fill for three months, and I didn’t have to think about it – thinking how to feed my babies tomorrow! You brought so much food – I really didn’t expect so much. But food was not our only problem. My eldest daughter Tamara is seriously ill, so we need a lot of money to buy diapers and medications … You have greatly eased our situation, and I am very grateful to you for this!

What can I say about the TV? You have made us a wonderful present. For some reason, little Eka decided that it was for her personally, and did not allow us to unpack it. I’ll try to explain it – we are renting this apartment, but we are planning to move to another one in the near future, so my daughter asked me to install the TV at our new house. But, apparently, we will still celebrate the New Year here … And of course, it is wonderful that we have this TV now! Ours went out of order a long time ago. And what is the New Year without holiday programs and Christmas movies? The kids are so happy! Because of the coronavirus, they are locked at home and don’t go outside! Your marvelous gift has brightened up our dull life!

Eka (6-year-old): It’s my personal TV! You brought it personally to me, right?

Meggi (14-year old): Yeah, our goosey little Eka decided that you brought it only to her, – the girl wise beyond her years smiles indulgently. – But I don’t mind. Let her think so, she is still little, anyway we watch TV all together!

Eka: Yes-yes! I let everyone watch my TV! I am very kind! And you brought us so many yummies!

Meggi: Mom shared everything so that we had enough for a long time. The babies were especially delighted with the crackers and chocolate balls! Mommy could never buy them to us…

David (4-year-old): Yes, it was so delicious!

Meggi: Thank you a lot!

 – Nino, what did you remember the most?

Nino: Seeing the happy eyes of one’s children is the greatest happiness for every mother! I will never forget how they jumped around the TV and clapped their hands! We live in such poverty … Children are not used to gifts, they simply could not believe that all this was theirs, this mountain of food and a huge new TV set. I saw happiness and amazement in their wide-open eyes! They used to see so much food together only in the grocery store…

  – Did the local government react to our post? Did they ask about your condition and did they help you with anything?

Nino: Unfortunately, not. Nobody came or called us. But journalists noticed us after the publication of your post. Recently we took part in the program “Reaction” by famous journalist Inga Grigolia. They told our story on TV, showing how we lived, saying what we needed and asking for help.

– Tell me about your emotions.

Nino: I am lost for words to describe them. It’s such a joy when there is enough food at home … You just can’t get used to the fact that you don’t have to think where to get some food. That you can breathe freely … You brought so much food that at first, I could not even figure out what to do with all this. It’s enough for about three months! Three months of quiet life … This is a huge help for us! Many, many thanks to all of you!

And we couldn’t even dream of such a TV. There was no money for bread, let alone purchasing such an expensive device. We probably could never afford to buy such TV. This is an incredible luxury for our family, and a miracle, just a fabulous gift for our children! There was a kind of smile even on Tamara’s face, when she saw how her brother and sisters were rejoicing!

You have come at a very difficult time for us. We had absolutely nothing to eat … Your help was like manna from heaven for us! Your employee David was so attentive, so kind to us, we will never forget this! You don’t often meet such wonderful and responsive people who do not just do their work, but put their soul into it!

  – What does this support and help mean to you?

Nino: Understanding that you are not alone with your problems, that people are not indifferent to your trouble! There are good people in the world who always defend the weak, support them, cheer them up, and share, perhaps, their last penny with them. May God grant them health and prosperity! Because good things never pass without a trace. They always return a hundredfold! And it’s not even about products and the TV…  The most important thing is that you understand that you are not alone, that there is someone who will lend you a helping hand! Many thanks to your Fund, because it’s thanks to you, that people learned how much we need their help!

– Nino, maybe you have some more problems that our readers can help you with?

Nino: You have helped us so much and my conscience does not allow me to ask you for anything else … Just do not forget about us, please. When there is a sick child in the family, the problems are endless. You permanently need diapers, medications… Children get used to deprivation, they are constantly malnourished. Besides that, we do not have our own house, and it is very difficult for us to pay rent … We have to constantly move. It is very, very difficult.

Once again, I want to say many thanks to your Fund and to all your good friends! Lord bless you for your generosity and empathy!
