Savings on the grave …

calendar October 3, 2022

“Don’t tell it to my mother, but once my hand sank into there. I wanted to see if a boogeyman really lived there and whistled, or if it was just a crack in the wall. I put my hand in there, and something bit me!” – little Sophia drags me by the hand. She wants to show me some ominous hole in the wall. “But be careful! It can bite you too!”

Savings on the grave …
REPOST RIGHT AWAY, MY GOOD MAN!
HELP YOUR FRIENDS TO GET CLOSER TO THE WORK OF MERCY!

“If you behave badly, a boogeyman will come from this crack and take you away”

“Don’t tell it to my mother, but once my hand sank into there. I wanted to see if a boogeyman really lived there and whistled, or if it was just a crack in the wall. I put my hand in there, and something bit me!” – little Sophia drags me by the hand. She wants to show me some ominous hole in the wall. “But be careful! It can bite you too!”
The hole, indeed, is so huge that not only a boogeyman, but also his entire terrible family can easily live in there. The house where the Kldiashvili family lives is 120 years old. It’s wooden. The rotten boards barely hold on to the wooden piles and are about to collapse. The roof is full of holes, there is nowhere to hide when it rains.

“One wrong move and you could be buried under the rubble”

To be honest, it was scary to be there. The slightest movement made the house creak and tremble. But no one is even interested in how these children live. And, as always, hope is again only on you, friends! On strangers with the kindest hearts!
– Gaga, the kids already managed to scare me on the way here. I thought they were exaggerating, but the reality turned out to be even more terrible.
Gaga: It’s true. This is my grandfather’s house, and it was built 120 years ago. My parents used to live here, and now I live here with my family. We have nowhere else to go. When you think about how to feed your children, you don’t even notice all this horror. And it is absolutely impossible to save money to even patch these holes. And holes are not the only problem.  The stairs may fall apart, the wall may part, the ceiling may collapse. We must be on the alert so that the house does not bury us under its rubble.
– What do you live on?
Gaga: On 600 gel of allowance – that’s it. I am a diabetic, insulin dependent when I work physically. Sometimes I go out to field work if someone calls me. My wife stays with the kids all the time doing housework. Do you know how hard it is when you cannot support your family because of poor health? Tears choke me when my children have only bread to eat.

“Today we have boiled potatoes again”

– I see…
Gaga: Someone could say that we do not care about the future of our children, but this is not so. I didn’t know that I would have diabetes. I didn’t know that I wouldn’t be able to work normally anymore, and I would have to work as a janitor. Nobody is immune from disease. Since God gave us children, since He considered us worthy to be called parents, He will help us to keep them. I believe in that. Many poor families believe that. If only the rich would give birth, there would be few people left in Georgia.
– What is your allowance enough for?
Gaga: For flour, pasta, and potatoes. And we also buy detergent. Being poor does not mean that we should wear dirty clothes. My wife washes all day long. But we don’t even dream about a washing machine.

“Mom says that everything should shine at home, and we should be neat”

– Did you address the local authorities for help?
Gaga: It would be better if we did not address them, I consider myself a beggar. We asked them to fix at least our roof. Ten years ago, they gave us some tin plates. I was still able to work physically at that time. I fixed the roof on my own, but there was not enough material. But there was a terrible storm a few years ago and it damaged the roof. We were so afraid, we thought it would take us away along with the house. After that, I repeatedly asked the authorities to help us with the repair, but they refused to help. They said: we have already helped you, that’s enough. Can you imagine?
– Can we take a look at your house?
Gaga: I am embarrassed to show it to you, we live like beggars. Everything falls apart. We sleep pell-mell.
Sopho (9-year-old): Let me show you, dad is embarrassed. Just walk carefully. Don’t walk near the walls. Watch your feet.

“Look how the rain draws on the walls. I see a princess here! Do you see?”

“We don’t have glass here, and cellophane tears all the time”

“When the wind blows, this wall seems to be dancing!”

– Sopho, what kind of house would you like to have?
Sopho: One made of bricks or stones. Not a wooden one. So that the floor does not creak and that the walls do not whistle. So that all the walls and ceiling are white, and you can call your girlfriends for visit.
– What else do you want besides a beautiful home.
Sopho: I want a beautiful dress and a phone! I just dream about a phone! And at least one toy.

“We have one ball for three of us”

– Don’t you have toys?
Sopho: My brother has a ball. All three of us play with it. What else to do? We don’t even have a TV to watch cartoons.
Amina (12-year-old): A TV is my biggest dream! Sometimes I think they broadcast so many interesting things on TV, but we don’t know anything.
– Have you any other dreams except for a TV?
Amina: Yes. We started going to school. But we have neither clothes, nor shoes, nor schoolbags. We have nothing.

“One torn ball is the only “treasure” the kids have.

– Luka, I want to know about your dreams too. Would you tell me about them?
Luka (10-year-old): No. I have no dreams.
Sopho: I know he has! May I say instead of him? He wants a bike. Do you know how much he wants it? He even asked mom for how many days should he quit eating to save money for bike. Mom said it would be six months. Is it possible not to eat for six months? No! That’s why he stopped dreaming about bike.
Luka: I don’t dream about it. What bike are you talking about when we have no clothes to go to school? Forget about the bike, there are much more necessary things.
– What things?
Luka: For instance, my mom has no washing machine, our roof leaks. Sofo has no  good clothes. My brother and I have no shoes. We have no food at home
– Have you had lunch today? What did you have for lunch?
Gaga: Bread… Few days are left till payday. So, we will have only bread until then. The most important thing is to buy two bags of flour. If the children do not catch a cold, do not get sick, we will not starve that month. And if, God forbid, you need medication, then that’s it … Do you know how expensive everything is?
What needs to happen for your life to start changing for the better?
Gaga: If only they would help us fix this parental home, if they would give us at least some push to get out of this swamp.
– Gaga, let’s summarize our conversation. What do you need most of all, what will make your life easier?
Gaga: Building materials are vital for us – to fill up the holes and fix the roof. We also need foodstuffs. Such foodstuffs that will help us to survive winter. We also need hygiene products, beds, a washing machine, and a TV.
Sopho: Yes! We need a TV the most! And also, a phone, and dress and a bike for Luka. And stuff for school.

This little beauty with huge sad eyes deserves a better life. She should feel herself a princess like all girls.

Friends! The Kldiashvili family has no one else to ask for help. Their last hope are the complete strangers. Mom and dad are worried about their children because they can start having serious health problems from malnutrition. They need any help: food, hygiene products, building materials, beds, a washing machine, and a TV. With our joint efforts, we will manage to help these unfortunate family, as we helped thousands of families throughout Georgia who were on the verge of death.
