At first, she asked for a school desk at home, but we thought it would be better to get her a proper table – and with it, a small tablet, a schoolbag that isn’t torn like hers, and a pencil case. Then she’ll be getting twelve out of ten on her assignments. Keep studying, Lizi! Georgia will help you.
Lizi (8-year-old): “Do you know how hard it is to do homework on your knees? My letters come out messy, and my teacher doesn’t give me good marks. I wish I had a real desk at home, like the one at school! If I had that, I promise I’d be the best student in class!”
Lizi: “I go to school with an old, torn backpack. I’m so ashamed. I dream so much of having a new bag! And all the things I need for school: a pencil case, pencils, pens, erasers, and a sharpener. But my biggest dream is a tablet! I’d use it for studying… and watching cartoons. My parents can’t afford it. My daddy has tuberculosis. He’s very sick and can’t work. That’s why I never tell him what I want—I don’t want to upset him. But I told you—because you’re kind and help children!”
