“You have no idea how much my feet miss the ground. My feet haven’t walked on it for so long. I really want to see my yard, look at the village. But I lie alone in bed all day. I can’t even turn down the volume on this damn radio – it’s been yelling since yesterday and it’s driving me crazy. Wouldn’t it be better if the stroke completely killed me? Now I am neither alive nor dead. (Marina cries).

REPOST RIGHT AWAY, MY GOOD MAN! HELP YOUR FRIENDS TO GET CLOSER TO THE WORK OF MERCY!

All her relatives have died, and she is very sick and helpless.

Let death come and take me to my Nana and to my husband. What am I doing here without them? I’m just a burden to other people. And I won’t ask for food, and I won’t need diapers, and I won’t shiver from the cold like a dog. And I don’t want to live like that, and even think about these things. That would be the end of all the suffering.”

There is so much grief and despair!

– When did you become bedridden, Marina?
Marina: I’ve been lying in bed for a year and a half.

I’m angry with my right leg. It does not obey me – it lives on its own. The fingers on my right hand move slightly. Look.

I woke up that night and I felt that something was wrong. I tried to get up but collapsed and hit my head. I hurt my chin; my nose bled. I lifted myself up again. Who else would do that? The next day, I was even more shaky, but I endured and did not call an ambulance. Where could I get money for them? Finally they took me out on a stretcher.  I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy to have a stroke and become bedridden.

The right side of her body is paralyzed after a stroke. Marina can’t walk

– Can anything be done by treatment?
Marina: Whoever has money gets better. Where can I get money for massages now? I have a social allowance – 50 GEL. Everything goes to diapers so as not to lie in excreta. I give my pension, 240 GEL, to my neighbor so that she can make some food. She is also a pensioner, a kind woman. She took pity on me and started looking after me. She also changes diapers for me, she does not squeamish about that. And she feeds me – I cannot eat by myself. I spill everything by my left hand, it trembles.

“I somehow eat with my left hand, but it gets tired quickly”

My neighbor also tides up my room when she can. She has her own family, but she also nurses me. There are God’s people in the world.
One man of God also let me and my late husband live in this house. And for ten years now, he has not driven us out from here. He does not need this tiny room, but for me it’s a roof over my head. Though there is no light, water, and gas.

She spends all her days in this old room with faded, rain-drenched wallpaper

Marina has not lost faith in God’s people and every day she thanks the Lord and all the saints for them

– But how do you manage to live without all this?
Marina: The same neighbor who takes care of me gives me light. And she does not charge me. The water is in bottles, you have to bring it. I used to bring it myself from school. The director personally allowed me to come and collect water from them. He said: “Marina, you are such a neat woman, so come and collect water when you need it.” Do you know, how neat I was? As long as I could stand on my feet, my home was spotless. And now I’m lying in a diaper and waiting for a neighbor to come and change it. Is this life, sister? This is not life, but a dog’s lot. And who to complain to? I complain to my deceased husband and cry. I talk to his portrait. I have no one else to talk to all day.

Beautiful fruit trees grow in the yard, but Marina has not been able to go out into her garden for a long time.

– Do you have any relatives left?
Marina: If there were any relatives, would I be lying like this, lonely and forgotten? They all died, they all left me. (Cries). My daughter would be about your age now, maybe a couple of years younger. And I could already have teenage grandchildren. We would live happily. But there is no happiness for me! There is no happiness since my Nana is dead! (Cries bitterly).
– Marina, sorry for asking you the question that hurts you. I empathize with you with all my heart. How did it happen?
Marina: It’s not you who brought me to tears. I cry every day. There is so much time to think, and damned thoughts torment me. They remind me again … Here is my beauty, here is the one I lost. (Shows a photo of her daughter, cries.) My baby, why didn’t I die? (Cries). She was healthy. How could I imagine that they would pull out her tooth and she would die from it?! Because of the tooth…

“There is no happiness, since my Nana is no longer with me!”

– One could go crazy!
Marina: Haven’t I gone crazy? Do you think I remained normal after that? My Nana developed sepsis – doctors could not save her. Why was she with me until she got 15 and then left me and took away the meaning of my life? Everything fell into blackness.

“Why was my daughter with me for so little time? Why did she leave me?”

– Marinochka, although your happiness was fleeting, you still had it. May it keep you from despair.
Marina: There was very little happiness. (Cries). Why was there so little? When my little daughter called me mom, I was flying above the ground, not walking.
My husband passed away from fast-growing cancer three years and five months ago. They left me alone and look at me from photographs. I tell them every day – look, what I have turned into. I turned into half-witted, helpless old woman. When I feel really bad, I ask them to take me away from here. Probably, life is better in the next world, than here.

“I not always was a whiny old woman.” Marina in her youth

– Do the local authorities take care of you? Do they help you in any manner?
Marina: When, who? We all are nobody’s, we are abandoned. Me, and you, and everyone. Who are our patrons (owner. – Ed.)? Eh…
– But we, the residents of Georgia, have each other. We can help each other. Tell the readers of our Fund, and help will certainly come.
Marina: This is true. We are all God’s children. I have no doubts about our people. There are many bright, noble people in Georgia. Thanks to two such people of God, I am still alive, and I am talking to you.
Most of all I need diapers and wet wipes. Since I haven’t died yet, I also need food. I understand that my pension is enough for some nonsense, and my neighbor feeds me on her own. She would never say: “Marina, your money is over.” She is a very good person. If only someone could give her sunflower oil, pasta, potatoes …
I dream about a TV. It would distract me from bad thoughts. I also dream of cold water. I would now drink water from the refrigerator with such pleasure. But I do not have it. I have no other dreams left. All other dreams ended painfully to me…

Her plea is so desperate – “don’t leave me alone in this little room!” What a thirst for warmth and care, what a childish fear and helplessness. But there is still a small clue for life – faith in God’s people. Marina has not two of them, but much, much more! When we start helping her, she will see how many good people are surrounding her.
We will come and help her!
Personal visits are very important for Marina, she has no one to even talk to! She will be happy to communicate andyou’re your attention. Here is the address of Marina Michitashvili: Gardabani Municipality, village Poladaantkari.
Every time you can help someone, just do it, and rejoice that God answers someone’s prayers through you!
Let’s show our mercy and make Marina believe that miracles happen, that she can live in a warm and cozy home and have a lot of food!  She believes in us. Don’t let her down. Show her what generous people live in Georgia!
We are sure that all together we will manage to give her unforgettable moments.
Please don’t forget to repost our story. Let your friends know about the grief of this family! It’s extremely important!
