Six-year-old Sophia and her three-year-old brother Andria often have these tummy sounds. Their daddy is sick, very sick. He almost died five years ago. We will tell you about that later. We will tell you about how one accident can turn the happy, carefree life of any family into hell. No, we are not scaring you. We are trying to wake you up.

The fact that children have the right to receive healthy food is rather an exception to the rule in Georgia. This is not a typo, but a sad reality. There are a lot of families in Georgia where children do not eat normally – they do not eat at all. They eat from time to time, while mom saves a meager allowance. This post, like most of our posts, will be about hunger… We will repeat it again: children should not grow up in such poverty! They shouldn’t be hungry!

Ma’am, put your ear to my tummy – there are terrible sounds!

Baby Sophia’s talk is funny and sad for my heart, and her five-year-old brother confirms her words!

REPOST RIGHT AWAY, MY GOOD MAN! HELP YOUR FRIENDS TO GET CLOSER TO THE WORK OF MERCY!

“When you hug your “tasty” mom, you don’t even feel hungry”

Do you also have scary sounds in your stomach? If it’s quiet there, it means that you ate.  And if it is noisy and scary there, it means that you are hungry.

Here’s the potato soup again…

– Nino, how do you live in such conditions?

Nino: Terribly, with the last bit of strength. What can you talk about when there is no food, when you constantly think about how else to save money so that you can buy bread? That’s how we live. I’m not even talking about the conditions in this house, where it is dangerous not only to live, but to just stay for a while. And we even pay 300 GEL for this.

The Three Little Pigs from the fairy tale have cooler houses.

There are no beds, so the children and their mother sleep on the floor.

They have no appliances at all! The washing machine shell is just for show and serves as a stand.

– Nino, you said you pay 300 GEL rent for this house. What do you live on? What is your income?

Nino: We get a social allowance of 500 GEL. This is our entire income. We pay 300 GEL for a roof over our heads, and 200 GEL should be enough for food. That is why children can’t look at potatoes anymore. Bread, potatoes and pasta are the only foods we can afford. And, if I buy oil, it means that we’ll have to keep a very strict diet for a week.

  – But you also need money for something else besides food?

Nino: It’s almost enough for nothing! That’s why I addressed your Fund. This money isn’t enough for food. We – adults – can stand that, but children cannot! When they are hungry, they cry, they check the bellies of each other to know which one is humming more… I say that and I feel a lump in my throat.

“I will eat you, hand! As if you were a potato”

  – Does not your husband work?

Nino: I will tell you the story of our love. So, you will understand better why he cannot support his family now. We met in 2014. He had a seasonal work in Turkey then – he harvested nuts. He made good money: though we didn’t show off, but we had everything we needed. But five years ago, a terrible thing happened! They called me and said that someone attacked Vano in Turkey was, they wanted to rob him and wounded him with a knife. He was operated on six times. These inhumans literally cut him to pieces: he lost his spleen, one kidney, gall bladder, one lung, his stomach is sewn up. He laid for two years after that. Then there were complications – there was fluid in his lung. Now he is disabled. But he is alive, and this is the most important thing. I nursed him like a baby. It is impossible to describe in words what we have experienced.

  – Doesn’t he get a pension?

Nino: To get eligible for pension we need to undergo a full examination – that’s what we were told. It costs about 500 GEL. Can you imagine? Where to get that kind of money? How else can we cut our budget? If someone teaches me how – I will be grateful!

  – Does anyone help you – your relatives or friends?

Nino: Our relatives live in difficult conditions themselves. Our neighbors help us a lot – I am immensely grateful to them! They help us with food and clothes for children. If not for them, I don’t know how we would have lived!

“Everything that my children have are gifts from good people.”

  – Did you address the authorities for help?

Nino: I’ve addressed them so many times that I’ve lost count! But what’s the point? They promise something all the time, but they never helped. I addressed both the mayor and the local government.

– Nino, what kind of help do you need first of all?

Nino: I beg you, help us with food! The rest is not that important, but please don’t let us starve to death! My God! God forbid you to see how your child suffers from hunger… I don’t even want to say it out loud – It’s scary!

  – It’s of the first priority, of course! But what do you need for your home? I see that you have almost no furniture and appliances.

Nino: We really need beds. My children sleep on the floor. We also need bedding and linen and a washing machine. Everything that you see here belongs to landlord. I need a TV too, but how can I ask for it?

Sofia (6-year-old): You can, mom, you can! All children must have a TV!

  – What else should children have?

Sofia: There should be something for the school: beautiful clothes, beautiful notebooks, and a lot of pencils! And also dolls, but this is not for school.

“I’ll write a list or rather draw it. I can’t write yet “

  – Do you have a favorite doll?

Sofia: Come on, I’ll show you. Is it a doll?

“Send it to Santa. Tell him that I want such a doll, but a beautiful one”

  – I promise you that many people will read the post about you and will give you the most beautiful doll!

Sofia: Nope, who can just give you a doll? I already had my birthday once, on June 30th. Mom says there will be more. And then they will give me at least something! Well, let’s see – if they give me a present, I’ll call you.

  – What else besides a doll are you dreaming about?

Sofia: I want to go to school! There will be children.

– What would you ask for your brother?

Sofia: Toys and I want him to go to kindergarten too. He needs clothes too, you know? Tell that to your people.

“I am offended! I don’t want anything and don’t believe you. Get out of here! They always promise everything, but they never bring anything”

***

Dear friends, these wonderful people are in dire straits. They really need our support! In anticipation of the holidays, children begin to feel especially strongly that they are not like everyone else. And the fact that they will not get gifts also eats at them. Little Andria feels offended. He is still little, but he does not believe in miracles. No one ever fulfilled his wishes… No one ever kept his word and gave him what he promised… We learned from his sister that he wants a tractor and a gun. But he just frowned and didn’t utter a word to us.

You can visit them and provide them all possible help, their address is: Tbilisi, Gldani, 7th microdistrict, Giorgi Tsminda village, David the Builder 3rd dead end, building 1.

They need food, furniture, clothes, toys, and household appliances. Let’s not remain indifferent to the troubles of this family! Let’s show our mercy, care and help them! Sofia and Andria must believe that good people never forget their promises and fulfill wishes.

Please repost our publication, so that as many people as possible learn about the troubles of this family!
