The story of a gravely ill brother and sister will shake you to your core

For 18 years, a mother has been feeding her sick son with her own hands. Luka has been intellectually disabled since birth, and he cannot talk - he only makes some sounds.

If he is not fed, Luka will not ask for food and will slowly die of hunger. He cannot do anything on his own.

As if the suffering from the illness of one child wasn't enough, fate dealt another cruel blow to this unfortunate mother - her 5-year-old daughter, Mariam, was diagnosed with an intellectual disability too. Mariam also struggles to talk.  This mother, deprived by life, does not have the money to take her children to a doctor. The mother suffers, the children suffer.

Look at this house! If it can be called a house. Here, only poverty, hunger, sickness, and hopelessness reign.

The children are on the brink of fainting from hunger. Oh God, if only we could glimpse into the heart of their mother for just a second!What fire must be raging in it!The woman uses her last pennies to try to buy something for her starving children, who eagerly await her return. She examines the products displayed on the open stalls but walks away, hiding her tear-filled eyes behind her glasses. What will she say to her hungry children when she comes home empty-handed? Why did their mother return with nothing? Alas, poor mother!Perhaps no one can truly understand what is happening in your heart right now.

At home, she found only one piece of bread and divided it equally between her hungry children. Even though both the brother and sister cannot talk, their eyes plead with their mother for help. My God, how can a human heart endure so much?!

Sofio (mom, 41): For 18 years, I've watched Luka suffer and I can't help him. There's a saying that you can't buy health with money, but that's a lie!  Luka's condition worsened because of our poverty. When Mariam was born, I was so happy!I thought that when she grew up, she would also help her brother. Unfortunately, my little girl needs help herself. She struggles, wanting to say something. She can't utter a word, then gets frustrated and starts crying. I don't have money to take her to a speech therapist. I don't even have money for transportation. The local shop sometimes gives me groceries on credit - I bring bread and instant noodles for the children. It's the cheapest option. Illnesses, hunger, cold, unbearable living conditions... How can my poor children endure so much?
