“Do you really need her like this?” people kept asking her mother. “She will die soon! Look, those parents left such a child in an orphanage and now they will live happily. You can’t imagine the burden of raising a sick child, especially when you already have a healthy daughter. Imagine how hard it will be for her. How embarrassed she will feel of having such a sister.” Instead of encouraging the young mother, it seemed like everyone had conspired and wanted her to leave the child like a piece of meat.

REPOST RIGHT AWAY, MY GOOD MAN! HELP YOUR FRIENDS TO GET CLOSER TO THE WORK OF MERCY!

Elena was born prematurely.  Weak, barely breathing…

Sophia: My husband and I always loved our daughter.  He worked two shifts to ensure Elene lacked nothing.  He even went to work in Turkey. Taking care of our sick daughter together was easier, but Niko’s heart couldn’t bear it, and seven years ago, at the age of 30, he died of a heart attack. I thought that without him, my children and I wouldn’t make it through a single day – but we did.  Not just a day or a month, but seven years…

“If Mom takes one step away and Elene can’t touch her, the most heart-wrenching sobbing begins”

– Looking at all this, it’s probably easier to say what you don’t need…

Sofia: You’re right. Just the sight of our house shocked you, and what happens within its walls will make you cry… My husband died seven years ago. And after that, life turned into a nightmare!  There’s no one by our side to support us with a kind word.

These walls, covered in iron – they call it a home

– How do you manage to cope alone with a sick child?

Sofia: In no way! With each passing year, it becomes increasingly hard for Elene to live.  When you have a young child, they say to moms,  “It will get easier as they grow up,” but with Elene, it’s the other way around. She can’t see, and it frustrates her. She’s very emotional.  Two years ago, she started having seizures due to emotional stress.  I have to be by her side all the time, just holding her hand or constantly talking to her. If she doesn’t feel me, she starts crying, and it’s absolutely contraindicated for her. Every day, my strength diminishes.  Fortunately, Nini is growing up to help us. She adores her sister, but I can’t leave them alone and go to work, out of fear.

For Elene, her sister is a second mother

– Tell us about Elene.

Sofia: I got the flu when I was six months pregnant. Doctors said there was a risk of giving birth to an unhealthy child.  But my husband and I knew that whoever was born would be our favorite child. Elena was born six months premature – she was barely breathing. Doctors immediately diagnosed her with cerebral palsy.  I know it’s incurable, but we decided to do everything in our power to make Elena feel good.  It was easy when we were together.  Niko helped me a lot.  He adored our daughter.

– How do you cope after your husband’s death?

Sofia: I need around 100 lari per month just for the diapers for the child.  She can’t do anything on her own, I feed her and dress her… she hasn’t even uttered a word in her entire life. She only makes sounds, and through those sounds, I understand what she wants. But you know, I’m even afraid of a simple cold! When she gets sick, it’s the end of the world for us.  It’s so hard for her, it hurts her… we end up in hospitals several times a year.  And each of her colds costs us at least 200 lari!

Don’t get sick, Mom will get sick for you…

– Could you say something to mothers who are in a similar situation?

Sofia: Yes!  Dear moms, beloved and cherished!  We are the strongest people on the planet!  We, mothers of sick children, are the most resilient. We are stronger than iron.  God has given us the strength of ten women and men before entrusting us with chosen children. Know that even when you are alone, you have wings – and those are your children.  They won’t let you fall. Hold on, stay strong!  And even if you can’t go on any longer, you will be carried by the angels of God!

“We, mothers of sick children, are the strongest beings on the entire planet!”

– Wow, that gives me goosebumps! Thank you. These words will serve as a stimulus for many people.

Sofia: When there is no other choice, to remain weak means to die. And I am raising Nini according to these principles.

Nini (12-year-old): I love my mom very much! She is my role model. I will do everything possible to make her happy!

“Children are my wings, they won’t let me fall”

– Can you look after your little sister so that mom can rest?

Nini (12-year-old): I would love to, but Elene only wants her mom. And if mom needs to go out, I try to entertain her as much as I can. I sing her songs and keep her in my arms all the time… but if she senses that mom is far away, she starts to have a tantrum… she is so helpless when she cries.

“Mama will come back soon, but for now, let’s play with the ball!”

– Sofia, I understand that we could talk endlessly about the problems your family faces, but let’s choose the most important and vital issues in which our kind readers can take part.

Sofia: What I need the most is a special wheelchair so that I can take Elena outside for walk. I also desperately need a special table with a chair for Elene where she can sit and stabilize herself. An inhaler is vital so that Elena doesn’t suffocate during her attacks.  There are also secondary things that we simply dream of. A washing machine, a phone for Nini. We need groceries, diapers… Well, the list goes on.

Friends, this family has no one else to address. Their last hope is with total strangers. Sofia is worried about her sick daughter and her healthy daughter as well, because from malnutrition and poor living conditions she may have health problems too.

This kind Georgian family needs all the help they can get – food, hygiene products, a washing machine, an inhaler, and a telephone. Together, we will manage to help these unfortunate people, as we helped thousands of families in Georgia who were hanging between life and death.

You can visit them yourself and help them in any way you can at the address: Akaltsikhe District, Vale, 34 Stalin Street.

Every time you can help someone, just do it, and rejoice that God answers someone’s prayers through you!

We are sure that all together we will manage to save them from imminent death.

Please don’t forget to repost our story. Let your friends know about the grief of this family! It’s extremely important!

REPOST RIGHT AWAY, MY GOOD MAN!  HELP YOUR FRIENDS TO GET CLOSER

TO THE WORK OF MERCY!

“Elene smiles when she feels loved and happy. You brought many moments of joy to the little blind girl!

Little Elene is completely blind and has cerebral palsy. But she was able to ‘see’ all your gifts in her own way.  She touched and felt her new table, her stroller. She is happy that this is all for her, she smiles broadly, feels happy.

Mom Sofia has long wanted this – to bring happiness to her daughters, whom she raises alone: a little bit of happiness for her seriously ill and helpless daughter, Elene, and a little bit for the older daughter, Nini, who has grown into a beautiful young lady but is deprived of everything in the world. After her husband’s death, Sofia cannot give anything to her children

The Minashvili family had terrible living conditions. They didn’t have food, medicine, or even the simplest things until they found you – friends, helpers, and protectors.

Elene definitely likes her new personal dining table!

– Sofia, what changes are especially important for you?

Sofia: You took care of my entire family, and we all have changes now. We can now walk with Elene for 1.5-2 hours without any problems. Before, when we didn’t have a stroller, I used to carry Elene in my arms in the yard. Even though she’s skinny – 12 kilograms, I couldn’t hold on for long. Now we have complete freedom. We not only walk around our neighborhood in Vale, but also take the bus to Akhaltsikhe. The stroller is lightweight, easy to fold, and it’s easy to get on the bus with it. It is comfortable for Elene to sit in it, her back doesn’t get tired, and my daughter doesn’t cry.

With the stroller, walks last longer. Elene even travels from Vale to Akhaltsikhe.

The other day, Elene caught a slight cold, and she was already starting to cough. I immediately brought our new nebulizer and gave her an inhalation with saline solution (added 5 ml there). It works very well in clearing mucus and helps the child. We would have had to go to the hospital again if it weren’t for the nebulizer. And you brought me so many medications, including many cold remedies.  That’s what we always need.

The abundance of medications and diapers greatly reassures Mom Sofia.

“The best gifts for me are the blood pressure monitor and the mattress.  I was really happy about it.”

– It sounds a bit poignant coming from a young woman that she is grateful to have the blood pressure monitor.

Sofia: That’s because life has been torturous. The child’s illness, the husband’s death. But I’ve gotten used to the blood pressure problem. The main thing is to control it so it doesn’t drop below my normal range (80 over 60) and doesn’t rise too high. Now I’ll at least know how I’m doing.  Sometimes I feel like I’m dying, but there’s nowhere to measure it.

I started sleeping like a human. During the day, I’m not sluggish or shut off, I can handle things properly. Before this, I used to lie on a lumpy mattress and suffer from insomnia.  Plus, I had back pain bothering me. My lower back always hurt in the mornings. But now, thanks to you, I’ve forgotten about all that.

Mom Sofia no longer suffers from insomnia and doesn’t experience back pain – she has a comfortable mattress.

I also forgot about the problems during laundry. The old washing machine would sometimes leak water and flood the floor, or “hold onto” clothes – its door would get stuck. But the new washing machine is cooperative. (Smiles) I run it as many times as needed. Now it’s summer, and the kids’ clothes get dirty quickly.

The old washing machine had a “personality,” while the new one handles all of Sofia’s tasks.

The kitchen hood is an unexpected gift from you, something I couldn’t even dream of.  But you’re very attentive, noticing everything and helping more than I would dare to ask. I’m amazed at how you can solve problems. I’m happy that the Fund solves my problems, that you’re my defenders. You even helped me stir up the local authorities, which I didn’t expect at all.

The hood quickly removes all the unwanted smells from the kitchen and prevents grease drops from settling on the furniture.

– Sofia, please tell me, what did the Fund help you achieve from the authorities?

Sofia: One day, I received a call from the city hall, inviting me to come. There I learned that I’m entitled to assistance – 200 lari once a year. I can use it to buy groceries. But then I heard a reprimand: “Haven’t we helped you? Why are you ungrateful, why are you complaining about us?” They received a letter from a public defender. Sometimes they did actually help us, but why did they keep it from us that we’ve been entitled to such assistance for three years already? I would have used it three times. I’m so thankful to you, so thankful that you look after me and pester everyone.  Suddenly, they all became so attentive. In another office, they said: “You’re entitled to a special wheelchair for your disabled child. You’re also entitled to a special chair for her bath.” They themselves offer us everything. (Smiles.)

– What would you like to say to our readers? What emotions and feelings do you experience when you see their support?

Sofia: I have remembered all your warm words, and for me, they are a source of strength. When you write on Facebook: “Elene is a beautiful, wonderful, extraordinary girl,” I become very strong. When you write: “Wishing our little one great health and God’s protection,” I feel that I am not alone in this world. When you write: “Don’t give up, Sofia, fight for Elene, move forward, don’t be afraid,” I feel like I have wings. You are wonderful indeed! You know how to uplift, inspire, even in the most challenging situations. You are in my heart! Nini, Elene, and I love you.

Nini: I also want to wish the people who helped us and their children, first of all, be healthy. May they never need the things that my sister needs, and no medications at all.

– Nini, what has changed for you personally?  Have we been able to help in any way?

Nini: It’s summer now, and no child wants to study. But they brought me such a beautiful writing desk that I want to study right now.  I’ll arrange my notebooks, pens, and notepads nicely on it. I would go to school tomorrow if I could.  Well, okay, I’ll wait until September 15th.  You’ll see how dedicated I’ll be! Then you can call here and ask. You can even call my number, not mom’s.  I already have my own phone, it’s really cool. Thank you so much!  Those classmates of mine who didn’t go anywhere during the summer, like me, already know my number.  We call each other and go out for walks in the evening. And I’ll give my number to other kids too.

Nini: “I have such a cool desk that I’m already eager to start studying!”

– You make us so happy! It’s happiness when a child wants to learn. Sofia, what other problem at the moment can’t you solve on your own?

Sofia: Our old gas water heater broke down again, and we’re bathing and washing our hair with cold water. If there’s anything that can be done about it, our happiness will know no bounds. But if it’s not possible, we’ll endure it. As long as Elene is not in pain, we’ll endure anything else.

In a family where there is a seriously ill child, there are always challenges. Assisting a family with a sick child like Elene can be ongoing. It would be wonderful if any of you would make such a decision. It would be wonderful if you become a close friend and helper to this family. We are looking for a personal guardian angel for the blind little girl Elene.

If you have a heavy heart because of everyday problems or unresolved issues, as a distraction just see our posts on Facebook, or better call any of our beneficiaries, and all your problems will seem unimportant to you, compared with the problems of those to whom you helped in the most difficult moment of their lives.

Our problems are nothing if compared… Here are true misfortunes, in front of your eyes! Just thank the Lord for what you have. You are the happiest person in the world! Remember this and help those in need.

Unfortunately, problems of this and other families do not end here and now… Therefore, from time to time, look through the stories of unhappy people on our website, and talk to them. Every time you dial the Phone of an unhappy person, God is blessing you! For sure! Go on helping these families! This is the best service to the Lord!

Friends, there is one more request: if you know about the misfortune of a neighbor or friend do a godly deed, drop us an email at: office-fsp@fsp.ge
