Nini (Giorgi's younger sister, 12 years old): "Oh God, I beg You, help Mom find the money for my brother's treatment! And I ask everyone who reads about our sorrow: do not call my little brother crazy. He is seriously ill. We love him so much!" 13-year-old Giorgi was born by the sea. Perhaps that's why his beautiful eyes have the color of the sea wave. Giorgi was still little when doctors diagnosed him with mental disability. Sometimes he is calm, and sometimes he rages like the sea waves in winter.

Look deep into the eyes of this child, friends! There's so much in them - inhuman pain, suffering, and plea: "Save me, save me!" No, he's not crazy! He's seriously ill! And his parents have no money for food, let alone treatment!  Easing Giorgi's unbearable suffering is our human responsibility!

REPOST RIGHT AWAY, MY GOOD MAN! HELP YOUR FRIENDS FIND THE WAY TO GOD!

Nini (Giorgi's younger sister, 12 years old): "Oh God, I beg You, help Mom find the money for my brother's treatment!  And I ask everyone who reads about our sorrow: do not call my little brother crazy. He is seriously ill. We love him so much!"

13-year-old Giorgi was born by the sea. Perhaps that's why his beautiful eyes have the color of the sea wave. Giorgi was still little when doctors diagnosed him with mental disability. Sometimes he is calm, and sometimes he rages like the sea waves in winter.

Look into those tear-filled eyes, you’ll the pain of the whole world in them.  This is how Giorgi suffers every day because of his nervous fits.

Maia (mom): Giorgi was born with intracranial pressure. Until the age of four, he couldn't even walk. Now he is 13 years old and he can already speak individual words. Everything our family had, we sold for the child's treatment and for the medications we bought for him in Turkey (1400 laris per month). But for a long time now, we haven't been able to afford them because sometimes there is nothing to eat, neither for us nor, most importantly, for Giorgi and Nini.  And yet they need to be clothed, especially the girl! I suffer so much because I gave birth to a beauty, and she's so unhappy!  But the most important thing for us is Giorgis's condition! It's deteriorating catastrophically!

Once, I saw him standing by the roadside, waving at passing cars, just hoping they would take him away, even to the ends of the earth, just to relieve him of his suffering! I barely managed to bring him back home then!  It was so terrifying, so terrifying when it felt like I was reading his thoughts and understanding his behavior. Because I am a mother. And other mothers know well that they and their children are one entity!

We live in a tin shack, in a room measuring only 8 square meters.   Everything has long been sold!  I would sell this shack for my son and sleep under the open sky with my daughter. But this tin shack is not ours. We find ourselves homeless, unable to afford food and clothing for Nini, unable to provide medical examinations for Giorgi, and unable to purchase medicine for him!

But what truly torments me day and night is this: at a Turkish clinic, they informed me that they could potentially cure or alleviate our child's suffering! And now, here I stand before you, a mother who, due to the lack of finances, condemns her own son to continued suffering! Am I to blame?! Yes, I am to blame!!! That's the weight I carry when I gaze upon Giorgi!

Forgive me, Lord, for not kneeling before you sooner and for hesitating to reach out to strangers for help! But I can no longer bear to live like this! Please, forgive me for my pleas! I am a mother! I have no other choice!

We have nothing but this tin house

Nini Makharadze (Giorgi's sister, 12 years old): Do you think I'm ashamed of my brother being like this? Some might call him crazy. I'll never hide that he's my brother. But my heart aches terribly when I see him like this. I don't even blame Mom for not buying me anything.

My mom has long had no money even for medication for my brother. So, I decided to earn money on my own. I'm 12, and no one will hire me for work. I learned to make jewelry with my own hands. For the sake of the brother, a sister can do anything. I've already sold some jewelry, I'll sell more. I'm saving this money for my brother's medicine.

Giorgi is my heart. I know, he can't talk, but every sister understands her brother's feelings without words. I beg you, kind people, help me raise money for my brother's medication, and I promise that when I grow up, I'll pay back all this money. And before that, I'll give you jewelry that I made myself as a gift. It's true, I can't make them with precious stones, but I make them with all my heart and love. It's a pity that only precious jewelry sells at a high price. And the jewelry made with heart and love, I can't sell for more than 3 laris. Can you advise me on what else I can do to help my brother? (Asks the correspondent.)

Jewelry made by 12-year-old Nini to raise money for her brother's treatment

- Nini, with Giorgi having such a kind, strong, and fearless sister like you, it's already a big help from your side.

Nini: Do you really think so or are you just cheering me up?

- When you grow up, you'll see for yourself that I'm telling the truth. I'll soon return to Tbilisi and write an article about your brother. The whole of Georgia will read it. So, do you want to say something to the kind people?

Nini: Please, publish what I'm about to tell you (addressing the correspondent).

- I promise you, Nini.

Nini: Kind people, if you see a blue-eyed boy on the road, behaving strangely, please don't call him crazy.

Nino (Fund’s correspondent): Dear readers, I want to share something with you. When we came to Giorgi's family for the shoot, I found the child to be quite aggressive (there's no need to go into detail, you'll understand the rest yourselves). I spent many hours with his family, and every attempt I made to connect with Giorgi was unsuccessful. “To be honest” - everyone knows this phrase. I also want be honest with you. As I was leaving, I didn't even plan to say goodbye to the boy with the eyes as blue as the sea. Not because I didn't want to, but because I knew exactly how happy he would be that I was leaving. I had no doubt. I pulled the door handle, and at that moment I felt a hand on my back. I turned around and saw before me a boy with eyes as blue as the sea.  Do you know what happened next?  He hugged me... And at that moment, he struggled to say just two words:  "Don't leave."

And then I felt ashamed of myself. I hugged a mentally challenged child for the first time and understood one thing. No matter how insidious the disease may harm the child, it cannot harm only one thing – his kind heart.  Yes, at the beginning of the day, I came to Giorgi as if he were mentally challenged, and at the end of the day, I left him with life experience. On my way from Khelvachauri I kept thinking about one thing: who knows how much good that boy with eyes the color of the sea wave could have done for the world if it weren't for his illness? Who knows how many seeds of kindness he would have sown on this sinful earth? Who knows how many lives would have been changed by the sprout that would have grown from this seed of kindness?

As I left, I told Giorgi that he would get better. And now I fear my words. I said those words hoping for you, kind people. Don't repeat my mistake, don't turn your back on the boy with eyes the color of the sea wave.

Don't forget to share this article so that more people can see it. It’s extremely important.

If you want to take part in saving the child’s life, here is his address: Khelvachauri, Fridon Khalvashi Streeet, 9th turn, building 295.
