A miserable old woman walks around the yard, hitting her cheek with her hand. God, how much she suffers! She says a few words and cries, says something else, and tears choke her again. That’s what Asiat says: "Sometimes I think my life is worthless. I sometimes think it would have been better to burn in this cursed trailer. This is what my life has come to in old age! I've been left to the mercy of fate.""This was our home, my husband walked in this yard, he was the joy of my life... Everything I loved has been taken from me. Only memories remain. And they are so heavy. I can't breathe, I can't sleep... All the time, I see the fire in my eyes that is consuming my life!" After the fire, Asiat settled in this makeshift shelter. But can anyone really live here? In winter, she huddled with one relative or another. “Thank God there are kind people in the world,” says the miserable old woman. “Some can even shelter stray animals. That’s what I’ve become.”

I've been left to the mercy of fate."

"This was our home, my husband walked in this yard, he was the joy of my life... Everything I loved has been taken from me. Only memories remain. And they are so heavy. I can't breathe, I can't sleep... All the time, I see the fire in my eyes that is consuming my life!"

After the fire, Asiat settled in this makeshift shelter. But can anyone really live here? In winter, she huddled with one relative or another. “Thank God there are kind people in the world,” says the miserable old woman. “Some can even shelter stray animals.  That’s what I’ve become.”

- Did the state not help you at all?

Asiat: They gave us money to build a house, but we only managed to lay the foundation. And then... then (crying) my husband died. And I was left with nothing... I couldn't even set up a proper grave for him.

"The blocks and the unfinished walls remain untouched... Who will finish it now?  No one..."

- Do you have no one else besides your husband?

Asiat: I have a son, he's 24, but he's very ill.  He always has a headache and can't work. He can barely walk. He's been sick since he was nine. Either he was sick, or my husband was sick, or I was sick. We had a house in Sachkhere but had to sell it because of my husband's illness. In 2013, he went blind. We tried injections in his eyes and then surgery, but nothing helped. Then we moved to the village, set up a trailer and lived in it. Poor, but happy.  In love. You should have seen how we arranged it. We had everything.

“Every day I talk to him, ask him to forgive me for not being able to set up a proper grave for him yet.  A year has already passed..."

- How did the fire happen?

Asiat: I was sleeping and then woke up to the smell. Everything was on fire.  I couldn't see anything. I started screaming, calling my husband: "Jemal, my joy, where are you?" He didn't respond. I couldn't leave him alone, blind, and didn't leave the house until the fire caught my shirt and hair. Then I ran out, all burned, fell to the ground, and cried. I thought I had left him to burn in the house, my love... But then I heard his voice. He couldn't understand what was happening. As it turned out, he had gone out a couple of minutes earlier to get some fresh air.

"I dream of sleeping like a normal person, on a bed."

- Oh! I can't even imagine what you went through.

Asiat: When I saw him, I forgot about the pain. My whole body was burned: chest, stomach, hair... But the main thing was that he was alive. You can't imagine how hard it is for me now without him. I hope he forgives me for not being able to give him a proper grave yet.  Do you think he won't hold it against me?

- Of course not! You speak of him with such love... What do you live on now? How do you live in this hole?

Asiat: You said it right, it's a hole. And I live here like a field mouse. I get a pension, but it only covers the medications. My neighbors are kind.   Someone feeds me a piece of bread; someone invites me to bathe... Is this really life? I dream of sleeping on a normal bed or eating at a table like a human being...

- How can we help you, Asiat?

Asiat: I think if you give me a small trailer and a bed, I would be happy. So that my son and I can live together. So that we have a roof over our heads. I know we can't finish building the house - it's very expensive. And in our country, almost everyone is poor. But you know, when I heard about you, I had hope that I could at least die like a human. You have brightened the old age of many elderly women, haven't you? I heard that you are like good wizards.

Look into these beautiful and very sad eyes. This unfortunate woman has lived through so many terrible days!  Can we not make her old age a little more beautiful?

REPOST RIGHT AWAY, MY GOOD MAN! HELP YOUR FRIENDS FIND THE WAY TO GOD!

Asiat's story is not just a tale of loss and suffering. It is a call to each of us, a call to our hearts and conscience.  There comes a time when compassion becomes not just a desire, but a duty. When we see an elderly woman struggling with her grief, suffering from loss, and in need of simple human care, we cannot remain indifferent.

We see how hard her life is, we feel her pain and despair. And at that moment, the words of the Lord come to mind, inspiring help and compassion.

"Honor your father and your mother, as the Lord your God has commanded you, so that your days may be long, and that it may go well with you in the land the Lord your God is giving you" (Deuteronomy 5:16).

We are obliged to show care and respect for the elderly, for this is not just a commandment, but the basis of our humanity. Asiat needs a small house, a bed, and a roof over her head. She dreams of living her last years with dignity, and we can help her achieve this dream.

Let's turn to our hearts and remember that each of us can be a light in someone’s dark life. And let our good deeds be an example for others, and may the Lord's blessings accompany us in every action.  By joining this help, we will not only change Asiat's life but also enrich our own souls.
