"This is not a home, but a pile of stones and iron! It's a dangerous place! Be careful when you pass by! Don't enter yourselves, but leave a piece of your soul here! We must stop this time bomb. In these ruins, which disgrace our nation, two unfortunate women eke out an existence - 64-year-old Asmat and her seriously ill daughter! If Asmat dies, her dearly beloved daughter, who is completely helpless and unwanted by anyone else in this world, would immediately follow her. She is like a 3-year-old baby! She can only love her mother. And the mother, who needs help herself, bathes, dresses, feeds, and puts her seriously ill daughter to sleep.

Mom can't leave her daughter for even a minute. She's like a 3-year-old girl. Kind and loving towards her mom, but remembering very little."

Actually, these are two orphans, in a country that does not consider them its own children!

We can't bear to show this horror any further! Because we are humans, friends! We can't act as they would somewhere in wealthy Europe – giving them an apartment and care! But our souls are richer than European ones! It is not so expensive to put this house in order. And the Fund will take care of their future life separately! We won't let the unfortunate suffer! There's no one else to help them!

In this house, nothing is intact The floor got rotted, the walls are cracked, the windows are shattered, and the ceiling is about to collapse.

'Great Lord God!  He made it so that Raisa doesn't understand her situation... Maybe this is her only way out to survive in this nightmarish conditions.'

The leaking roof becomes a symbol of their life. All the items in the house are covered with plastic wrap, and during rain, both the mother and daughter are covered with it as well.  This is their only salvation from the rain, as in damp weather, unimaginable things happen in their home.

They have to watch the ceiling with fear. What if it collapses after the rain and buries them alive?

I couldn't talk to them and ask what worries them.  The mother is deaf and cannot hear what they are asking, and the daughter doesn't understand what they want from her. The family, immersed in darkness, becomes a hostage to their silence.   The fact that they are still alive is thanks to kind neighbors. They come in, bring food, and try to help as much as they can.

This is a killer house. The roof could collapse at any moment and bury the unfortunate mother and daughter under the rubble!

The eldest daughter, Aishat, lives with her family in Pankisi. She has five children and cannot visit her mother and sick sister. She has no one to leave the children with, and she doesn't dare risk bringing them to the deathtrap of a house, where the roof could collapse at any moment.

"This is not a home, but a pile of stones and iron! It's a dangerous place. It’s like a  time bomb.

The only sound inside this dilapidated house is the groan of helplessness. There's no room for hope in this house, and death creeps through every crack.  It depends on us for how long they will manage to hold out. We thank God that their silent cry for help reached us!

Society doesn't notice their agony.  Their days are numbered, and the countdown is not in days, but in minutes! Their silence carries a cry that pierces the hearts of the compassionate. Struggling with their weaknesses and pains, they cry out that they are dying, that they need help.  They can't cope alone!

What can we do for them? Fix the roof, buy proper beds, a TV and a refrigerator, as well as buy food and medications.

This story asks us about our own humanity.     Will we ignore unanswered pleas for help? Will we remain blind and deaf to the suffering of others, losing a part of God's light in our souls?

Know, friends, without our intervention, their death is inevitable, but together we can bring light into the final days of this family. We believe that together we can change the outcome of this tragedy and make their days a little warmer.

If you are willing to visit the family and help them in person, here is their address: Kvareli Municipality, village Chantliskure.

Every time you can help someone, just do it, and rejoice that God answers someone's prayers through you!

We are sure that all together we will manage to save this family from imminent death.
