A terrible genetic disease took away Marina's two sons. It was a fate, inevitable and cruel, that deprived her of the joy of motherhood and sentenced her to endless pain. She sold her house to save her children, but in the end, couldn't change the horrific outcome. For 21 years, Marina hasn't slept. She spent endless nights sitting beside her sons' beds, protecting them from torment and suffering. And now she has been completely alone for 20 years: suffering from illnesses, deprived of a roof over her head and any support.

"I slept sitting for 21 years while my unfortunate children were alive... I sat beside their beds and kept death away from them. But now I can't lie down because of my illness. Pus is flowing from my legs!"

Marina, I look at you and tears choke me... how do you bear such pain?

Marina: Is this pain? Physical pain can be endured - I can bear any pain after the death of my children. The loss of children is an unbearable pain. I couldn't just accept the fact that they were gone so early.  Every day was a trial for me, and I tried to find strength within myself to continue living.  Love for them and the memory of them will always live in my heart.

- What gives you the strength to live and move forward despite all the difficulties?

Marina: The most important thing that gives me strength is my faith. I believe in the power of love and hope.  Knowing that my sons no longer suffer and are safe with God brings me comfort.  Do you know how much they suffered? Do you know how much I suffered, watching them? I got married late by Georgian standards, at the age of 24. First, Giorgi was born, and one year later - David. What a blessing it was. The children developed normally, but then they stopped crawling and became weak. They couldn't stand up on their own. At the age of 7, they completely stopped moving. They sat in wheelchairs, and that was it...

"A mother who buries her child dies herself... and I've already died twice"

- What happened to them?

Marina: It was a genetic disease, and the doctors said the children wouldn't live long. If they were girls, they wouldn't be affected. This disease is only transmitted to boys from their father. And I was told to wait... to wait for my children to die!

- What is it like for a mother to await the inevitable death of her child?

Marina: It's the most unbearable pain one can imagine. No mother should ever have to face that. I felt hopelessness and despair as I watched my sons slowly lose their strength, losing the battle against the disease.  Witnessing their suffering was unbearable, and I tried everything to alleviate their pain in any way possible.

These eyes have shed all tears

- Did you believe in a miracle, that death would spare your children?

Marina: Of course, I always hoped for a miracle.  I prayed every day and begged God to let my sons stay with me. But alas, reality turned out to be very cruel.  I tried everything possible to save them, but unfortunately, the genetic disease they were born with offered no chances of recovery. I was told that I had 12 years to be a mother... but the only thing I managed to "bargain" with fate was 15 years for Giorgi and 21 years for David. After they died, I became nothing!

- What do you fear the most in your life?

Marina: My biggest fear is being left completely alone without any support.  It's hard for me to imagine how I would cope with difficulties and illness if there was no one to help me. I'm afraid of ending up on the streets without a roof over my head and being unable to continue my treatment.

"Don't leave me... I'm scared"

- What do you ask God for in your prayers?

Marina: In my prayers, I ask God for strength and support. I ask Him to help me accept my fate and find inner peace and tranquility. I also pray for my sons to find peace and happiness in their new world.

- What do you think can bring solace to your heart in such a difficult situation?Marina: In such a difficult situation, solace comes from the understanding that I have done everything within my power for my sons. Right now, I'm worried about having to spend the night on the streets after being discharged from the hospital. When the ambulance took me, my rented apartment was given to someone else. I was essentially left homeless. So, I wonder, maybe it's better for me to die? What's the point of living?

- How can we help you?

Marina: At the moment, I can't imagine what will happen next. I hope for support from you and kind-hearted people who can help me find temporary housing. I need assistance to cope with this hellish pain and stay afloat.  I'm literally falling apart, with pus flowing from my legs...

- Marina, thank you for your honesty and courage in sharing your story. I wish you strength and support on your difficult journey, and I hope that God will send you help and kind-hearted people.

Friends, let's stop for a while and think: what if this happened to us? What if we found ourselves on the edge of despair, with no hope for a better future? Marina is a mirror that shows us how fragile our lives are and how unpredictable circumstances can be.

Our goal now is to help Marina to get back to a normal life free from pain, so she can continue praying for the martyred souls of her sons.  Every donation you make is an opportunity for her to start over. We can give her back a roof over her head, provide her with the necessary medical services and support so that she can again feel like a person who deserves love and care.

Let's rebuild her life together! Please share this post, donate whatever amount you can, and let's prove that even in the darkest corners of this world, there is hope. Our collaboration and kindness have the power to change Marina's life, and perhaps even our life too.

Unfortunately, Marina is currently in the hospital, and visiting her is not possible. But we hope that after receiving proper treatment and being discharged, she won't end up on the streets, and together, we can rent her an apartment. Perhaps someone can offer her shelter?

Every time you can help someone, just do it, and rejoice that God answers someone's prayers through you!

We are sure that all together we will manage to save them from imminent death.
