One year ago, on December 23rd, Nini died… She was still alive when they brought her to the hospital. There, her heart stopped. The doctors were indifferent, they did not even pay attention to her. The screams and cries of her mother reached the heavens. “Save her, revive her!” she shouted. “Give my martyr back her breath.” But the doctors just watched the girl die, and for some reason did not take her to intensive care. Unfortunately, there are such bad people in the world. She lay unconscious for five months. Droppers damaged her veins, bedsores appeared on her body, and a fungal infection appeared in her mouth.

REPOST RIGHT AWAY, MY GOOD MAN! HELP YOUR FRIENDS TO GET CLOSER TO THE WORK OF MERCY!

– Asmat, you are telling such scary things!
Asmat: I do not hesitate to say that people working in the Iashvili hospital are executioners. They can not only ruin a sick person – they can make a healthy person a cripple. I will not go into details, but they are the ones who are to blame for the fact that my daughter’s condition is so terrible, and we have not been able to leave the hospital for a year now. It’s good that this shady business establishment was closed, and now an investigation is underway. You cannot even imagine how many unfortunate parents mourn their children, who were healed to death by executioners in white coats.

“Being just a human being is not enough to be a doctor”

– How did you manage to escape from there?
Asmat: After normal hospitals had their COVID-19 status withdrawn, we immediately moved to the Tsitsishvili clinic. Here Nini came to life. The most kind and helpful doctors work here. They cured her bedsores and fungal infection. Nini is always clean and combed – it’s a pleasure to look at her. As if her suffering wasn’t enough.
– Asmat, tell us about Nini. How did she feel before she found herself in the hospital? What is her diagnosis?
Asmat: At birth, Nini was diagnosed with a terrible disease – spinal amyotrophy. This insidious disease chained her to a wheelchair, atrophied her muscles, paralyzed her legs, left her almost speechless, but retained her mental ability. This means that my unfortunate daughter is aware of her condition, and this torments her sensitive soul! Nini had frequent attacks of suffocation, turning into a severe cough and fainting. But I used to cope on my own, I brought her to her senses. On December 22, 2021, she suffocated from her sputum, and Nini almost died while we were waiting for the ambulance.

“If it wasn’t for the angel mom, Nini wouldn’t have lived even a year”

– The fact that Nini is still alive is your merit. You are like a guardian angel to your daughter.
Asmat: I dedicated my entire life to her. I fulfill her every wish. While she was still at home, she really wanted a parrot. We gave it to her. She taught him to talk. “Nini is good, Nini is beautiful!” the parrot said. And after we moved to live in the hospital, the parrot started to yearn for her and died. I don’t know how to tell Nini about this. She will go crazy.
The parrot died too – probably from the grief he saw! We will definitely buy her a new one…! How do you manage to cope now while Nini is in an intensive care unit? Where do you live?
Asmat: When they told me that it would take a long for Nini to recover and she needed to be constantly on the machine, I rented a room for 350 GEL. I started working the night shift. After work I rush to the hospital to hug my daughter. Sometimes I get so tired that I pass out right on her bed and sleep. The doctors know about our situation, and they let me sleep. I am saying truth – people working in the Tsitsishvili clinic are Angels! I won’t get tired of repeating it.

“Asmat works day and night to provide for a sick daughter”

– Where do you work, Asmat?
Asmat: I work as a salesperson in a grocery store. My salary and Nini’s pension are barely enough for medications. But I cannot buy special nutrition that contains all the vitamins and minerals necessary for an atrophied body. One pack of it costs 12 GEL. Where can I get that kind of money?
– Does anybody help you?
Asmat: No. We are alone with Nini, and no one knows about us. My husband stayed in the village – he gets allowance and takes care of himself. Fortunately, he does not interfere.  Avtandil Gulikashvili, the mayor of Sagarejo municipality, came to hospital on Nini’s birthday, on June 28. He brought her cake and presents. You can’t imagine how happy Nini was. She cried with joy. She has become so sentimental: she immediately bursts into tears over any little thing. Recently she had her nails painted – she burst into tears again. Because of the stoma that sticks out of her throat, she cannot talk, so she expresses all emotions with tears.

Just don’t stop breathing! Mom will do everything for you!

– How does she communicate with you? How does she let you know what she wants?
Asmat: She makes barely audible sounds. She gets tired after uttering a couple of words. Recently, she explained to me that she wanted headphones with cat ears that glow. People will probably ask why she needs them – she lies and does not move. But how can I refuse my daughter such a small thing? How can I not listen to her dreams? She can only rejoice in such things.
– Asmat, what can we do for you and Nini to ease your situation?
Asmat: We really need food and diapers, size 7. There are no diapers of this size here in the hospital, and I have no money for food. We also need pillows and linen. And Nini needs headphones with ears. If someone just wants to make Nini happy – she will be happy with any girlish stuff – varnish, bracelets, beautiful hair ties.
***
What do people think about when they pass by someone else’s misfortune? “Will they help him?” Or: “He’s strong, he can handle it.”  People who are passing by shift the responsibility on to someone else. It is a vicious circle. But, if one person sets a good example, others will follow him! So be that kind person!
Dear readers! Dear mothers and fathers! Please help little Nini and her mother in a difficult struggle against an insidious fate. They believe in you and are waiting for a miracle!
If you know about such cases – be sure to write to our Fund about them! Together with the whole of Georgia, we are starting the fight against the killers in white coats!  To show your support for this noble movement for the life of Georgians, subscribe to our website and express your opinion in the comments to our publications!
Probably, many of you will want to visit them and help personally. Nini now lives in the Tsitsishvili hospital. We will let anyone Asmat’s phone number upon request. Talk to her and support her.
Every time you can help someone, just do it, and rejoice that God answers someone’s prayers through you!
We are sure that all together we will manage to save Nini from imminent death.
Please don’t forget to repost our story. Let your friends know about the grief of this family! It’s extremely important!

I KNEW YOU WERE SAVING LIVES.  YOU SAVED US BOTH!

REPOST RIGHT AWAY, MY GOOD MAN!  HELP YOUR FRIENDS TO GET CLOSER TO THE WORK OF MERCY!

Her eyes are shining, and her cheeks have filled out!  Hooray! Our little beauty is doing better!

– Having a diagnosis like my Nini’s – spinal muscular atrophy – and not having the necessary care and resources would have been a certain death sentence, – says Asmat, Nini’s mother. A year ago, my daughter went through a crisis.  Her heart stopped, she couldn’t breathe on her own, and she lost her ability to speak.  She had to rely on a ventilator to keep her alive. At that time, Nini weighed only 14 kg.  I felt like she was slipping away from me…

But you didn’t let that happen! You turned out to be the best caregivers in the world, the best healers!  You provided her with such good care, such nutrition, that Nini started gaining strength. She now weighs 21 kg! She can go without the ventilator for 6 hours, which means she can sit, walk with her mom in a wheelchair, and interact with other children. These are not empty words, – Asmat cries with emotion.  – You have given my daughter life!

Asmat: “Yous saved both of us! It is true!”

– Asmat continues, – The fact that Nini is celebrating her 18th birthday today is completely your merit. – I’m a realist, and I say what is. Without your support, we wouldn’t have come this far. She would have slipped through my hands…I’ve witnessed how easily children with her diagnosis can be lost.  If that had happened, I would have felt like a part of me died along with her. I couldn’t bear to live without my daughter.  You saved both of our lives, and I want you to know that.

For over six months, thanks to you, Nini has been on a special diet. Every time I go to the store, I buy groceries for a week, everything the doctor recommended: yogurt, cottage cheese, juice, and matsoni. This protein food has advanced us a lot. Nini’s situation is such that medication alone and hospital food wouldn’t have helped her.

– It’s a great joy that our beauty is doing better!  It’s a joy to see her smile!

Asmat: There are days when she speaks a little – a couple of words, sometimes she can’t speak at all.  She has a stoma that hinders her.  When we visit other children in their rooms, Nini is in a very good mood, she happily listens to them and can ask, “How are you?”  Here, she prepared for your visit – I gathered her hair with the new colorful hair ties that you gave her as a gift and applied light makeup… Look at the bracelets on her hands, can you see them? A kind priest brought these for her while I was away, the doctors told me later.

That’s how Nini was getting ready for us – her mother did her makeup

Then she went to visit the children from the other wards to hear the news

A little trip on the elevator. How nice to be free of the machine!

– Judging by the number of responses to our project, our Ninutsa must have had a lot of guests and new friends.

Asmat: Nini didn’t get bored, that’s for sure. On New Year’s, a very kind woman, Nana Jokhadze (I hope I’m not confusing the last name), decorated Nino’s room festively. She brought watercolor paints and brushes for my daughter. Nino was deeply touched. Although she can’t paint at the moment – you remember, she used to be an excellent artist – it’s a great incentive for her.  Her fingers are working better now, and I hope and pray for a full recovery!

Our fellow villager from Patara Chailuri, Giorgi, came to visit. It is already such a moral support for Nino, and he even came with gifts! We also met and made friends with Lali Shamugia, who helped us a lot. She is the sister of the Minister of Agriculture, a wonderful and caring woman! We now have a budgerigar! This wish also came true. It’s so touching and emotional for me that everyone in Georgia now knows what Nino loves and prefers.  They know she is crazy about budgerigars.  And one girl gave Nino a budgerigar as a gift.

– What did Nino call him?

Asmat: Kiko. I wrote a long list of names and read them to Nino, and when I said this name, she nodded and smiled. Kiko is at home. I take care of him, and together we are eagerly waiting for our Nino to come back home.

– When will Nino be discharged from hospital?  Is there such a possibility already?

Asmat: I’m afraid to take her home myself right now, so as not to compromise the progress we have made.  She is safe here, and here are all the conditions. Our apartment doesn’t have such conditions. We really need a bed that can be adjusted with a remote control so that Nino can change her body position without discomfort, to prevent bedsores and alleviate body pain.  I don’t have a washing machine to change the bedding frequently. Can I kindly request a washing machine from the Fund? The smallest one, maybe a 3 kg capacity?

Nino misses home – she has been living in the hospital for 1.5 years

And now the walk is over, she needs to lie down in bed again

Mom promises that everything will be fine. Mom cannot be wrong

I am so happy and grateful for everything you do!  I’ve been suffering from severe depression all the time, but with you, I felt like I was under your wing. I regained my spirits. Thank you for the new refrigerator, for the blender, for the washing machine and phone! Even with my round-the-clock work, I wouldn’t have been able to afford them. And I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for the previous gifts we received from the caring readers of the Fund. The gas stove, the television, the computer, and the rocking chair have made a tremendous difference in our lives.  Your kindness and generosity have been truly remarkable. Nini loves wearing headphones with cat ears that you brought. It calms her down: classical music, the voices of different birds, and, of course, the parrots.  Classical music, the voices of different birds, and parrots, of course calm her. Thank you for bringing her such joy! Thank you for taking care of us!

Nini loves listening to the voices of birds and gentle music; it helps her forget about all the tubes, medications, and the hospital room

May you never feel any pain!  May your hearts be filled with sunshine, joy, and warmth. I thank each and every one of you for saving my Nini!  You have extended both her life and mine! May you live a hundred years!  May you have a hundred years of health and happiness!

– Asmat, please take care of yourself!  May God protect both of you!  What else is concerning you at this stage?

Asmat: Right now, I need support from the Ministry of Health to allow us to stay at the Tsitsishvili Children’s Clinic even after Nini turns 18. My daughter came to life here, there are wonderful doctors here, and she is very used to them.

At the Tsitsishvili clinic Nino came to life. When the conditions are right, she can go home

I hope they will make some concessions and won’t transfer her to another hospital. The state helped us in the past with expensive medicine for myotrophy. I really hope they don’t deny our request now.

Nini has been living in the hospital for one and a half years. She dreams of coming home and wants to be near her mother. But she needs conditions for that: a bed with a remote control. Together we managed to save her life! Together we can bring Nini home!

Thank you for all you do! Your help is priceless!

If you have a heavy heart because of everyday problems or unresolved issues, as a distraction just see our posts on Facebook, or better call any of our beneficiaries, and all your problems will seem unimportant to you, compared with the problems of those to whom you helped in the most difficult moment of their lives.
