There are still real heroes in Georgia! A single father is raising three small children, the youngest just two years old. With his own hands, he changes his baby’s diapers and bathes him in a basin. But the worst part? This poor man has to make impossible choices every day—buy baby porridge for his two-year-old son or buckwheat for his five-year-old? Buy rice for seven-year-old Anton or diapers for little David? There isn’t even a toilet in the house. “This is devastating!” “This is unthinkable!” All of Georgia must come together to help them!

Just look at these poor brothers. There is so much sadness in their kind eyes… At first, they were shy when they saw a stranger—the Fund’s correspondent. But then, perhaps, their little hearts sensed that this “strange lady” had come to tell their story to all of Georgia.

And so, every day in the Merabishvili family begins and ends the same way. For “lunch,” there is only bread and tea. And sometimes… juice. That happens when their father’s “” daily income is high and reaches 15 GEL. That’s about five dollars. Imagine, my friends, a man who carries heavy sacks all day just to earn five dollars—enough to bring home bread for his children, half a kilo of pasta, and, on rare occasions, some juice or a cheap candy to make them smile.

Instead of porridge, this poor father gives his hungry child tea. At 40 years old, this young man is broken inside. He has already undergone two surgeries on his leg due to blood clots. He still needs medicine and medical care, but this heroic father cannot afford to spend a single lari on himself. Every last coin goes toward diapers for two-year-old David.

REPOST RIGHT AWAY, MY GOOD MAN! HELP YOUR FRIENDS TO THE WORK OF MERCY!

This is two-year-old David. His father is the one bathing him. Dear readers, apparently the first question that comes to mind is: Where is the child’s mother? Once built on love, this Georgian family has fallen apart. Well… It happens. And we are not here to judge.

David (2), Daniel (5), and Anton (7)

So, with his own hands, he puts a diaper on his baby. But when he doesn’t have money for diapers, he places rags under the child’s tights.

Even the precious little oil he manages to buy runs out quickly, and he ends up frying pasta in plain water.

How much these sad, kind eyes of a little angel could tell us…

Tea without sugar. A piece of bread. A hungry child’s eyes.

He dreams of eating meat and fish, but…

Frozen from the cold, the brothers huddle together to keep warm. Even in their sleep, they find no relief.

Anton (7): “I want to fall asleep quickly so I can have the same dream as yesterday—the one where I was eating fried chicken drumsticks…”

This is where the children sleep—on this broken bed.

God, God, God… So much sorrow in Daniel’s eyes. And yet, Daniel is only five.

Daniel (5): “I want me and my brothers to live like other kids do.”

Zaza (41 years old)
For a single father, raising three small children is incredibly hard. But when unbearable poverty is added to the struggle, it becomes almost impossible. And do you know what’s the hardest part? (He turns to the correspondent) When I go into a store and have to choose: do I buy porridge for my two-year-old David or pasta for my five-year-old son? Do I buy rice for seven-year-old Anton or diapers for little David? There is nothing more heartbreaking than a parent having to make such a choice for their children. How many times have I had to hold back tears?

There is no bathroom in the Merabishvili home. This bucket, dear reader, is their “toilet.” And the rest… you can imagine. This is not a life.

“My dear daddy washes my golden hair.” The child is shivering from the cold.

Despite unimaginable hardship, this poor father puts his children’s hygiene first.

A father. A hero.

Father and son—Merabishvili. May God bless your fatherly love.

On a broken, rusted iron bed lies a freshly bathed, freezing child. Friends of the Fund, you have surely realized how desperately these children need a proper bed. But their father has no means to buy one. Oh, life, how unfair and cruel you are!

Does this little angel not deserve to sleep in a warm, soft bed? To dream sweet, colorful dreams?

Don’t cry, little angel. Good people will not leave you alone.

These eyes… this gaze… They bring tears to our own eyes. If a person looks into them, even once, they will understand just how much the Merabishvili family needs help.

People of faith, will you turn away from a 41-year-old man raising three children alone? The children need food. Clothes. Shoes. A bed. Their poor father washes their clothes and rags by hand, in a basin. What can he do? On 15 GEL a day (5 dollars), earned through honest labor, a man cannot even buy a proper bed for a puppy or a kitten. But first, the most urgent need—a toilet so that these children can live in humane conditions. Now is the time for all of Georgia to come together! Let’s not abandon this single father and his three little angels.
If we do, guilt will haunt us for the rest of our lives.
