Friends, meet Grandma Shushana. And the illnesses she mentioned, unfortunately, are not all from the long list of her severe diagnoses. Three years ago, her left leg was amputated entirely. – “Since then, I can barely move even around the house! My daughter, who is suffering from cancer, takes me out to the yard for a walk once a month!” She is 72 years old, the same age as the founder of our Fund, Leonid Chernovetskyi, who personally became acquainted with this dreadful story! And here’s what he said: “A mother is dying, and her daughter is dying too! And both are enduring inhuman sufferings! I want to try to convey to my followers what I personally experience due to another illness at this age… As soon as you fall ill, you feel an intense fear! Here it is, you think, the end has come! But what’s next?! Meeting with the cold earth, worms, or with God?! If with God, then did you manage to repent for all the sins you committed in your youth? Did you do everything you could according

God, it hurts so much!

REPOST RIGHT AWAY, MY GOOD MAN! HELP YOUR FRIENDS TO GET CLOSER TO THE WORK OF MERCY!

“Oh Lord, how much it hurts!”  cries and laments an elderly woman sitting in a wheelchair. “Two heart attacks, high blood pressure, diabetes, psoriasis. Not a moment of rest! You treat one thing – other pops up.   It’s not life, it’s hellish torment!”

Did you do everything you could according to God’s commandments? What if you forgot something! Will the Father forgive you? It’s terrifying! Very terrifying!”

What to say? You can say nothing.  Just look at the photo of the unfortunate old woman, who struggles with pain, is in need of everything, doesn’t get enough to eat, yet continues to think only of her critically ill daughter.

Grandma Shushana’s life is nothing but constant suffering and pain…

– Grandma Shushana, tell us about your problems. What kind of help do you need?

Shushana: For nearly half a century, I’ve experienced nothing but pain, misery, and suffering.  They come at me incessantly, as if from an unending source. Woe is me, woe…First, my husband fell victim to cancer and left this life in agony. And now, my daughter – my only beloved and dear person – suffers from this dreadful disease.

– You’re saying terrible things.

Shushana: Just look at me – who am I? Half a human.  Three years ago, they amputated almost my entire left leg.  Since then, I can barely move even around my apartment. I collapse from crutches, the wheelchair is heavy and unwieldy, so I have to lean on chairs. Even walking to the bathroom is a feat for me! I can’t even remember all my ailments. Sometimes my blood sugar spikes, then my blood pressure. When I get a shot for this cursed psoriasis, my sugar immediately rises up.  I’ve had two heart attacks. Two! The first one was five years ago when I learned about my daughter’s critical illness, and the second one was three years ago when I lost my leg.

“Just moving around the house takes tremendous effort from me!”

– How do you manage to cope, Grandma Shushana? Do you live alone?

Shushana: My poor daughter… She’s doing her best to help me despite being so weak herself. Even though she doesn’t live nearby, she still tries to visit me every day. She has cancer, and she’s been fighting for her life for five years now.And here I am in such a state… I want to help her, but I only seem to add to her worries. She brings me food from the social canteen. We can’t afford to buy any other food because my pension isn’t even enough for my medications. (Shushana starts crying again.)

“Countless ailments never give me a moment’s rest.”

– Is there anyone else to help you?

Shushana: I was 29 when I became a widow. For eight years, I cared for my husband who was bedridden due to cancer. I have a brother and a sister, but as you can understand, they are already of an older age. They are also unwell and live far away.We see each other once a year, at best. Oh, everything was good while my father was alive. But then we lost him too.

– Did you have a happy childhood?

Shushana: Very happy! Just wonderful! Our parents had the means and bought my sister, brother, and me the very best of everything. I think since I moved here to Rustavi, I’ve forgotten what joy feels like.

– How did you find yourself here?

Shushana: I got married. You know, what old traditions were like? With the help of my aunt, I married a nice, hard-working guy whom I didn’t know before our marriage. My cloudless family life lasted for two years, and then a terrifying diagnosis struck like thunder out of a clear sky… My husband fell ill, suffered terribly for a whole eight years. And I was torn between taking care of the house, the kids, working, and looking after him. Oh, how hard it was. I was 29 when I became a widow. I worked for both of us.I spent thirty years working as a cook.My parents also helped me. I brought up a son and daughter.

– Where is your son now? You said that only your daughter helps you.

Shushana: He got married. He does not live in Georgia. He simply erased me and his sick sister from his life. I hadn’t seen him for twenty-five years. That’s how it goes… When I was left alone with two kids in my arms, some people advised me to send him to an orphanage. It was hard for me to cope. But of course, I refused, because, as they say, children need to be brought up by a parental example. As you can see, that doesn’t always work.

Just getting to the bathroom is a real feat!

– It hurts to hear that. Do the authorities help you in any manner?

Shushana: What are you talking about! They don’t even give me an allowance! My only income is my pension. What hurts the most is that my daughter needs help, and all I do is add to her troubles. Thank God, this flat is mine.

– Is it your apartment?

Shushana: This apartment was granted to my late husband after 15 years of dedicated work at the factory. There hasn’t been any renovation here for about 50 years, and everything you see was given to me by my father. May he rest in peace… I am here like a prisoner in a cage. Once a month, my daughter takes me out for a walk in the yard. She can barely walk herself and still has to carry me down the stairs.

No renovation has been done in this apartment for about 50 years

– How can we make your bitter life easier, Grandma Shushana?

Shushana: I don’t need a lot.I only ask for groceries and some basic food. You know what I mean. Despite the awful taste, I eat the soups from the canteen, but they are simply not enough. A washing machine would also be a huge blessing for me. Earlier, my daughter used to take my laundry, carry it to another neighborhood, wash, dry, and bring it back. But now she is so unwell that she can’t bear this burden anymore. You helped her a lot, I am so grateful to you! I believe that you and your readers can empathize with others’ pain and alleviate it as your own!

Our dear friends, kind and compassionate readers! We know that you will hear with your hearts the pain that Grandma Shushana carries within herself. Fate cruelly laughed at her when a happy childhood was replaced by an adult life full of torment and trials. Cancer took away her spouse, and now it’s trying to take her only daughter. In addition to her unbearable emotional pain, there are illnesses that don’t give her a moment of peace. The unfortunate woman can hardly move even within her own home.

What kind of hurt must a person experience, what sort of pain in their soul, when in their very own homeland – Georgia, a place they cherished with all their heart – they find themselves being disregarded by everyone, absolutely nobody caring!

And the sad truth is, it’s real! The state does not care about them! But we’re not the state! We have our conscience and our hearts! So let Shushana not have any doubts – Georgia remembers her! And it will certainly extend a helping hand!

Shushana and her daughter urgently need assistance, and above all, they need to sense the kindness of our hearts. Believe me, dear friends, if we can help them live even just a day, two days, a month, or perhaps years without pain (let the sufferer find some relief!  She’s been through so much!) then we can boldly proclaim to everyone: “I AM A HUMAN CREATED BY GOD!” I BELIEVE, I HOPE, I LOVE, BECAUSE HE LOVES ME AND WILL NEVER ABANDON ME, EVEN IF SOMETHING BAD HAPPENS!

We simply must extend a helping hand to her and prevent her from drowning in this abyss of misfortunes. Of course, we will not be able to make up for the loss of her loved ones, but we can make her existence easier. She’s asking for very little – groceries and a washing machine.

If you are willing to visit this Grandma Shushana and help her in person, here is the address: Rustavi, 7th Microdistrict, Block 14, Apartment 72.

Every time you can help someone, just do it, and rejoice that God answers someone’s prayers through you!

We are sure that all together we will manage to save Grandmother Shushana from imminent death.
