But now, Giorgi has been reborn. The terrible pain has disappeared from the child’s face. God, how peaceful he looks now. His ocean-blue eyes are full of happiness. What a transformation… God, it’s unbelievable! Dear friends, thanks to your kindness, 27,000 lari was quickly raised for the boy’s treatment abroad. And now you can see the result! Instead of pain, stars now shine in this child’s eyes. In addition to the successful treatment abroad, the Makhardze family has another wonderful piece of news. The children have escaped forever from the dreadful hut that had no roof or floor and whose walls were damp with moisture. From today, they will live like human beings. God, miracles really do happen!

0901200270Look deep into the eyes of this child, friends! There’s so much in them – inhuman pain, suffering, and plea: “Save me, save me!” No, he’s not crazy! He’s seriously ill! And his parents have no money for food, let alone treatment! Easing Giorgi’s unbearable suffering is our human responsibility!
REPOST RIGHT AWAY, MY GOOD MAN! HELP YOUR FRIENDS FIND THE WAY TO GOD!
Nini (Giorgi’s younger sister, 12 years old): “Oh God, I beg You, help Mom find the money for my brother’s treatment! And I ask everyone who reads about our sorrow: do not call my little brother crazy. He is seriously ill. We love him so much!”
13-year-old Giorgi was born by the sea. Perhaps that’s why his beautiful eyes have the color of the sea wave. Giorgi was still little when doctors diagnosed him with mental disability. Sometimes he is calm, and sometimes he rages like the sea waves in winter.
Look into those tear-filled eyes, you’ll the pain of the whole world in them. This is how Giorgi suffers every day because of his nervous fits.
Maia (mom): Giorgi was born with intracranial pressure. Until the age of four, he couldn’t even walk. Now he is 13 years old and he can already speak individual words. Everything our family had, we sold for the child’s treatment and for the medications we bought for him in Turkey (1400 laris per month). But for a long time now, we haven’t been able to afford them because sometimes there is nothing to eat, neither for us nor, most importantly, for Giorgi and Nini. And yet they need to be clothed, especially the girl! I suffer so much because I gave birth to a beauty, and she’s so unhappy! But the most important thing for us is Giorgis’s condition! It’s deteriorating catastrophically!
Once, I saw him standing by the roadside, waving at passing cars, just hoping they would take him away, even to the ends of the earth, just to relieve him of his suffering! I barely managed to bring him back home then! It was so terrifying, so terrifying when it felt like I was reading his thoughts and understanding his behavior. Because I am a mother. And other mothers know well that they and their children are one entity!
We live in a tin shack, in a room measuring only 8 square meters. Everything has long been sold! I would sell this shack for my son and sleep under the open sky with my daughter. But this tin shack is not ours. We find ourselves homeless, unable to afford food and clothing for Nini, unable to provide medical examinations for Giorgi, and unable to purchase medicine for him!
But what truly torments me day and night is this: at a Turkish clinic, they informed me that they could potentially cure or alleviate our child’s suffering! And now, here I stand before you, a mother who, due to the lack of finances, condemns her own son to continued suffering! Am I to blame?! Yes, I am to blame!!! That’s the weight I carry when I gaze upon Giorgi!
Forgive me, Lord, for not kneeling before you sooner and for hesitating to reach out to strangers for help! But I can no longer bear to live like this! Please, forgive me for my pleas! I am a mother! I have no other choice!
We have nothing but this tin house
Nini Makharadze (Giorgi’s sister, 12 years old): Do you think I’m ashamed of my brother being like this? Some might call him crazy. I’ll never hide that he’s my brother. But my heart aches terribly when I see him like this. I don’t even blame Mom for not buying me anything.
My mom has long had no money even for medication for my brother. So, I decided to earn money on my own. I’m 12, and no one will hire me for work. I learned to make jewelry with my own hands. For the sake of the brother, a sister can do anything. I’ve already sold some jewelry, I’ll sell more. I’m saving this money for my brother’s medicine.
Giorgi is my heart. I know, he can’t talk, but every sister understands her brother’s feelings without words. I beg you, kind people, help me raise money for my brother’s medication, and I promise that when I grow up, I’ll pay back all this money. And before that, I’ll give you jewelry that I made myself as a gift. It’s true, I can’t make them with precious stones, but I make them with all my heart and love. It’s a pity that only precious jewelry sells at a high price. And the jewelry made with heart and love, I can’t sell for more than 3 laris. Can you advise me on what else I can do to help my brother? (Asks the correspondent.)
Jewelry made by 12-year-old Nini to raise money for her brother’s treatment
– Nini, with Giorgi having such a kind, strong, and fearless sister like you, it’s already a big help from your side.
Nini: Do you really think so or are you just cheering me up?
– When you grow up, you’ll see for yourself that I’m telling the truth. I’ll soon return to Tbilisi and write an article about your brother. The whole of Georgia will read it. So, do you want to say something to the kind people?
Nini: Please, publish what I’m about to tell you (addressing the correspondent).
– I promise you, Nini.
Nini: Kind people, if you see a blue-eyed boy on the road, behaving strangely, please don’t call him crazy.
Nino (Fund’s correspondent): Dear readers, I want to share something with you. When we came to Giorgi’s family for the shoot, I found the child to be quite aggressive (there’s no need to go into detail, you’ll understand the rest yourselves). I spent many hours with his family, and every attempt I made to connect with Giorgi was unsuccessful. “To be honest” – everyone knows this phrase. I also want be honest with you. As I was leaving, I didn’t even plan to say goodbye to the boy with the eyes as blue as the sea. Not because I didn’t want to, but because I knew exactly how happy he would be that I was leaving. I had no doubt. I pulled the door handle, and at that moment I felt a hand on my back. I turned around and saw before me a boy with eyes as blue as the sea. Do you know what happened next? He hugged me… And at that moment, he struggled to say just two words: “Don’t leave.”
And then I felt ashamed of myself. I hugged a mentally challenged child for the first time and understood one thing. No matter how insidious the disease may harm the child, it cannot harm only one thing – his kind heart. Yes, at the beginning of the day, I came to Giorgi as if he were mentally challenged, and at the end of the day, I left him with life experience. On my way from Khelvachauri I kept thinking about one thing: who knows how much good that boy with eyes the color of the sea wave could have done for the world if it weren’t for his illness? Who knows how many seeds of kindness he would have sown on this sinful earth? Who knows how many lives would have been changed by the sprout that would have grown from this seed of kindness?
As I left, I told Giorgi that he would get better. And now I fear my words. I said those words hoping for you, kind people. Don’t repeat my mistake, don’t turn your back on the boy with eyes the color of the sea wave.
Don’t forget to share this article so that more people can see it. It’s extremely important.
If you want to take part in saving the child’s life, here is his address: Khelvachauri, Fridon Khalvashi Streeet, 9th turn, building 295.

REPOST RIGHT AWAY, MY GOOD MAN! HELP YOUR FRIENDS FIND THE WAY TO GOD!
Look at the beautiful home where the Makharadze family will soon move from their dilapidated shack.
Look at this beautiful house. Don’t think this photo was taken in Milan. This home was recently built in our beautiful Adjara, and very soon 12-year-old Nini and 13-year-old Giorgi Makharadze will move in. Before I share with you the photos capturing the children’s boundless happiness, let’s take a moment to recall the terrible conditions in which this seriously ill boy and his sister lived.
A metal box served as a shelter for the sick boy.
Around their home, the conditions were so dreadful even a cat wouldn’t want to step foot there. These poor siblings from the Makharadze family endured a hellish existence with no one to help them.
Look at this child—his eyes reflect unbearable suffering.
God, it’s horrible. Even a garbage dump would be a better place.
12-year-old Nini also lived in this hell. Her heart was filled with sadness and grief. You would never have seen a smile on her face. Nini was deeply pained by her beloved brother’s illness. It was made even worse because even a trash bin seemed better than the “box” where the children lived.
But this is the “new” Nini. It’s as if she has been born again.
Dear readers, it’s not your imagination—you are looking at the same girl in these photos. For the first time in 12 years, this child smiled. The main reason for this? Her beloved brother is recovering. Giorgi’s brain had been damaged. The boy suffered from terrible pain. During his seizures, the poor boy would sometimes hurt himself. His agonized cries echoed through Khelvachauri. Everyone felt so sorry for him, but there was nothing they could do. He needed expensive treatment abroad, but the family simply couldn’t afford it.
The boy’s brain had been damaged.
During his seizures, the poor boy sometimes harmed himself.
The boy suffered, and his heartbroken mother suffered with him.
But now, Giorgi has been reborn. This is how the happy boy hugged the Fund’s correspondent.
Look at this photo! It’s a true miracle! A grateful and happy child kissed the Fund’s correspondent.
A new home marks the beginning of a new life.
In addition to the successful treatment abroad, the Makhardze family has another wonderful piece of news. The children have escaped forever from the dreadful hut that had no roof or floor and whose walls were damp with moisture. From today, they will live like human beings. Twelve-year-old Nini showed the Fund’s correspondent their new home.
“The kitchen was my dream. This dream has come true for the first time.”
Nini (12 years old) – All girls especially love to spend time in the kitchen. I’ve never had a kitchen because we lived in such a tiny shack that there wasn’t even room for a bed. We only had a tiny gas cylinder, which is dangerous to use, but we had no other choice. How many times I dreamed of a new house and a big kitchen, but I knew that dream would never come true. And now, I’m so happy, so happy… My dream that seemed impossible has finally come true! This kitchen will be my favorite place. Everything you see here in this house – the appliances and furniture – it’s all thanks to the Chernovetskyi Fund. If it weren’t for your Fund, my brother’s and my suffering would never have reached the ears of kind people. Thanks to the kindness of good people, my brother has been reborn. I still haven’t fully grasped this great joy of having a new home with fresh renovations and new furniture. It feels like a dream. And if this really is a dream, please don’t wake me up!”
The recovered boy will live in this beautiful house with his sister. Every child deserves such happiness. Because the hearts of little angels are the purest and most open.
In the evening, as the Fund’s correspondent was leaving the new home of the Makhardze family, she suddenly noticed two doves on the balcony. It was all so moving. One dove probably flew to the boy, and the other to his sister. The terrible struggles of the brother and sister’s life have truly come to an end. Doves are symbols of peace. May these little angels always live in peaceful Georgia!
