Lasha: "I really, really want to live! Another day, two, maybe a week or a month, maybe a year, or maybe?.. If only to find out!!! I so want to believe in a miracle! I dreamed of becoming a football player. And I was the best in the school team! Grandma always said that I was the most beautiful and strong! But when they diagnosed me with this deadly disease - Hodgkin's lymphoma, two years ago, I still didn't understand what it was and continued to enjoy life!!! But... then came the chemotherapy! And with each day, I thought more and more: what will happen to me tomorrow?!"

This family needs clothes the most. Clothe them, and your soul will be enveloped with God's blessings!

I'm just a child, why should I die?! But people die from cancer, and I have bad cancer.  You won't let me die, will you?!!

“Hodgkin's lymphoma! That's what it turns out to be the name of a terrible death! I hate it!”

“I dreamed of becoming a football player. And I was the best in the school team! Grandma always said that I was the most handsome and the strongest!

But when two years ago I was diagnosed with this deadly disease, - I still didn't understand what it was and continued to enjoy life!!!  But... Chemotherapy began! And with each passing day, I began to think more and more about what will happen to me tomorrow?!”

"When the disease began two years ago, and I had the first chemotherapy, I only thought about one thing: will my curls grow back quickly! What nonsense... In just two years, I realized that for people, the only important thing is a life without pain!  Hair... Who cares about it?!"

Doctors refuse to say how much time I have left to live!!!  Everyone around calms me: everything will be fine! Hold on, son... And this kindness is also killing me!  Because they all know... Why say something other than what they really think!  If you have sympathy - help find a way out!  Because it must be somewhere! Maybe abroad!  Just don't let me die!

None of them knows how hard it is to wait for death every minute of life!

Expensive tests are needed now!  But the family has no money at all!

Grandma Maia: He is so good and so hansome! How I rejoiced in such a grandson!  He used to be such a restless one!  He dreamed of becoming a football player, like all Georgian boys! And now, when I look at his condition, when he can't get out of bed for days from fatigue, I am ashamed of my words,"  Grandma Maia says and cries bitterly.

Two years ago, a huge tragedy happened to her grandson - the lively boy was diagnosed with 'Hodgkin's lymphoma.'

"When I was lying in the hospital for 8 months, grandma never left my side and reassured me that I wouldn't die and would play football again!

Grandma Maia: “The Lord gave me Lasha!  And I think I have never loved anyone more in my life!”

If something happens to my grandson, I will take my own life. I love my grandson so much. My daughter couldn't take care of him; she was sick herself. And his father left!  But let God deal with them! I don't want to talk about it...

The Lord gave me Lasha!  And I think I have never loved anyone more in my life!

He used to be a very active boy.  Everybody's favorite! Just look at how handsome he is!

He never got sick. And suddenly... the doctors first said it was just the flu! His throat was hurting a lot!  But when things got really bad, they performed surgery on the throat and found cancer and metastases!

People say the misfortune never comes alone!  In the 8 months that Lasha and I spent in the hospital, my husband got fatally ill from the stress.  Leukemia began!  And in a few months, he turned into ashes: burned from grief!  And here we are alone me and my sick grandson... And a bunch of problems at home...

Now it's important to have examination as soon as possible to understand if the chemotherapy helped and if we should continue expensive treatment!  We need your help and prayers!

- Did the surgery help him?

Maia: In my opinion, the surgery made things worse. During the operation, the surgeon didn't like the shape of the gland, and after the biopsy, we received a terrible result: my grandson had a tumor, and the metastases had already spread throughout his body. How I survived this shock – I don't remember. Probably, only prayers saved me. We spent eight months in the hospital. During this period, my husband, from the stress, developed leukemia, and within a few months, he withered away. He died... leaving me alone with a sick grandson and overwhelming problems.

'I used to ask God to become a great football player, and now I pray not to die.'

Lasha (16-year-old): Grandpa was like a father to me. I learned a lot from him. His death was a great tragedy for me.

- Lasha, you're already a grown-up boy, and you probably know everything about your illness.

Lasha: I didn't want to believe it. I didn't even want to read about it. I asked grandma to tell me how I would be... Will I die soon? I know that cancer is a very bad disease, especially the form I have – Hodgkin's lymphoma. I don't like talking about it. Just two years ago, I dreamed of a bicycle, wanted to become a football player, loved hanging out with friends... And now, I pray to God not to die. I don't want anything now. The main thing is for my head not to hurt, and my bones not to ache.

"This thing right here was a part of me... it was sewn into my body."

Maia: Everything will be fine for you! Don't say such silly things! After the course of chemotherapy and radiation therapy, the disease seems to be retreating. We need to do tests and examinations very often, but with my grandson's pension and my salary as a cleaner, it's impossible. If it weren't for kind neighbors and strangers, we wouldn't have been able to afford a single examination.

"I recall that time with horror. I thought my hair would never grow back and I'd always be so bald."

- Does the state provide any financial support for you?

Maia: After my husband's death, they even took away our status as socially disadvantaged. I don't know how they assess and decide who is worthy of receiving assistance from the state. When my husband was alive, he worked, and we didn't need help. But now, we don't even have money to go to Tbilisi to see a doctor.

- Maia, how can we help you?

Maia: In December, Lasha needs a comprehensive examination. Even a tomography is an unaffordable burden for me. I won't be able to raise this amount without someone's help.

"After my husband's death, everything fell into despair.  There's no one left to take care of the house, and, in fact, there is absolutely no money."

– What amount are we talking about?

Maia: It might be around 3000 lari. I know, for someone, it may not seem like much, but for a lonely grandmother, it's impossible to gather such an amount."

Lasha: It's so upsetting to have to talk about this. How everything changes... Before the illness, I never got tired, and now, it's even hard for me to go to school.

- Maybe deep down, you have some desires that could make you happy or improve your mood?

Lasha: My grandmother will probably kill me, but I'll say it: I dream of having a phone and a computer. With them, I could communicate with friends without leaving home.

Friends, a young guy has found himself in a terrible situation. He is engaged in a fierce battle with illness, and if we don't help him, he might lose the fight against death. Cancer has broken him and deprived him of the ability to live a normal life. He needs our help! Lasha believes that you won't leave him in trouble and will help him. Don't be indifferent! Respond to the misfortune of this unfortunate guy!

Lasha urgently needs medical examinations, and his grandmother cannot gather necessary amount on her own. Also, Lasha dreams of having a phone and a laptop. Together, we can make this happen for a guy who has faced death many times!
