REPOST RIGHT AWAY, MY GOOD MAN! HELP YOUR FRIENDS TO GET CLOSER
Damned death does not want to retreat - but Giorgi can and should defeat it with our help!
"You will not take me away from my mother!"
Giorgi was born eighteen months ago, and every day is a battlefield with death for him. Death does not want to retreat - and Giorgi does not give up either.
He is still a baby - I wonder how he endures that much. I do not think an adult could endure such pain.
- Tamara, what is wrong with Giorgi?
Tamara: Giorgi is a martyr - he was born with a severe bowel disease. He was operated on in his very first days - they brought his gut out, then brought it back ...  They did it 7 times! Seven times I let my child go under the knife, under anesthesia. Can you imagine how it feels?
“Will he suffer for long?”
- And what about his condition now?
Tamara: Now he feels much better, but he might need to be operated on again. All these interventions had consequences. Several times he almost died of infection. He has become very weak from so much anesthesia. He can only eat special food, special porridge, but I have no money even for potatoes and bread. He also needs medications, diapers... Eh, an ordinary person should not get sick in our country.
‘When the baby is not hungry, he’s just happy”
- What is your income and how much do you spend per month on essential needs?
Tamara: Our income is a social allowance of 500 GEL. We need about 100 lari for medications, almost the same amount for transportation to the rehabilitation center. The state finances our treatment - I would never be able to cover such costs myself. When my poor husband was alive, we were not as unhappy as beggars. And now I have debts in every store. The older children can somehow stand without food, but what to do with Gio? He suffered enough.
- What happened to your husband?
Tamara: He experienced a lot because of Gio’s disease. He almost died during each operation. You know, because of nerves - first, his lungs failed, then the liver. He died in a matter of days. I miss him a lot. It is hard to be without him. He worked day and night so that the children would eat normally, study. For me, he was a husband, a brother, and a dad.
“I imagine that my dad left for work and will come back soon - it is much easier to live with such thought.”
- You talk about him with so much love, how did you meet him?
Tamara: My aunt introduced us to each other. He was twenty years older than me. I was 16 and I immediately realized that no one would love me as much as him. I felt so good and calm with him. But a person is not destined to be always happy.
- You have two more children, could you please tell us about them?
Barbare (9-year-old): Let mom tell you about David, and I will tell you about myself.
Tamara: I have the most wonderful kids! After the death of his father, David became the head of the family. “No matter that I am 17’” - he said, - “I must take care of you”. After school, he helps neighbors to collect grapes, saw firewood, and clean the yards. He brings this money home so that we always have money for medicines and doctors for Gio. He is a very kind boy - like his dad. I think it is impossible to teach kindness - it is from God!
“I am a helper. I can cook, and wash dishes, and entertain Gio!”
- Barbare, now it is your turn to tell us about yourself.
Barbare: I am 9 and I go to school. I can’t work and support my mom yet. I help her with housework. I sweep, I wash dishes. Sometimes I want to wash the laundry, but my mother says that the girls cannot hold their hands in cold water, otherwise they will have no children. I don’t know, maybe she came up with this so that my hands would not freeze?
- What a good girl you are! So, your mother and you need a washing machine?
Barbare: Sure! And we also need foodstuffs.
- What do you need personally, what you dream about?
Barbara: I love reading, in the evenings I read fairy tales to Gio, I also like drawing and dancing. And I dream about one thing - a phone or a tablet. When I grow up, I will be a teacher. I have the best teacher - I want to be like her. I'll show you what I drew for her. Do you think she will like it? If I have felt-tip pens, I will draw this to you too!
"My teacher Maia, I love you, and I want to be like you"
- Tamara, how can we make your life easier?
Tamara: My poor husband dreamed so much of saving up money and refurbishing the bathroom, but everything he had saved up in the last years went to his funeral. The poor one - he suffered so much. We miss him very much. If we only could, we would renovate our bathroom. We also need foodstuffs, and I told you about diapers and medications before. I don’t mean to be disrespectful, but I would like to ask you to give us a washing machine and a small refrigerator. I don’t dream about anything else. What can one dream about when his child is sick?
Barbare: May I tell you about my dreams? I want pencils and felt-tip pens, and also a tablet or a phone like all girls have. Because sometimes I forget that I’m a girl.

We hope that soon there will be no more families living in extreme need in Georgia - we hope we will manage to defeat poverty. We hope that our children will live in a more beautiful and rich country. But while there still are people who cannot cope alone and only hope for the help of unfamiliar kind people to survive - we bring their desperate cry for help to your hearts. We know for sure that as soon as you learn about them, you will help them - you simply cannot do otherwise! Having opened your soul to God once, you won't be able to just pass by without helping them!
The Prodiashvili family needs food, medications, and diapers, and they also need their bathroom to get refurbished. If there will be any chance to buy a family a washing machine and a refrigerator - it will be really cool. The tablet, beautiful dresses and stuff for drawing will make one little angel the happiest girl in the world!
If you decide to meet the family, their address is: Gurjaani Municipality, village Kardenakhi.
Every time you can help someone, just do it and rejoice that God answers someone's prayers through you!
We are sure that all together we will manage to save them from imminent death.
