Nothing can be more difficult for a child than to lose his parents. But knowing that they were just left alone makes it even more painful. 

10-year old Mariam, 4-year old Luka and 3-year old Nikolai wait for their mom and dad to come back every day. Waking up they hope that finally they'll have a chance to cry out "Mom' is home... Mom is home"... But alas, most likely this will never happen. 

"The mother left her children and I don't know where she is now. They say that she got married. God give me strength to take care of my grandchilren, help us to survive this sorrow and stay alive",  - says their granny, Marina Tuloshvili.

The granny and her grandchildren live in Variani village, Goriyskiy region in horrible poverty and total despair. Half-hungry and sometimes starving existence makes the worst impact on their health. They survived this winter somehow but the children were constantly sick. 

The whole impact of the family consists of a tiny social allowance. The granny is eager to work, but where? They have no orchard and she cannot find even small money to buy food for the kids. Luckily the neighbours are kind and help as much as they can. But they are in need too, so their help is mainly in form of some moral support. 

The premises where the granny and her grandchildren live are worn out, the walls are damp, in the very center of the room there is a big hole, and the rusty beds are at the edge of falling into pieces. 

"We live in this misery. We went to bed hungry time and time again, and the kids were crying and asking to eat… It breaks my heart, I want to die, but who will take care of the children? So I keep up as much as I can, hoping that good people will come and help!", - says Marina Tuloshvili.    

Dear friends, it is impossible to ignore this desperate cry for help! It is impossible to stay idle knowing about the misery of these children whose parents abandoned them. But we can lend them a helping hand, give them warmth and care, give them a hug and caress them, as there is nothing more decent than saving a child's life!
