I’m completely helpless, sweetheart! I take a step or two – and then I fall, and I can’t get back up. I lie there on the cold floor, shouting, “Someone help me, please! Help me get up!” Sometimes I sit or lie there for hours, sweetheart, on the cold floor, until some kind person hears my cries. I get so scared, so terrified that one day I’ll die, and my poor, broken body – worn down by illness – won’t be found by the neighbors for a long time!

Sweet 84-year-old Grandma Mary, kind as an angel, hasn’t stepped outside the door of her house in five years.

She lives all alone. Poor, poor woman – yet her eyes are still filled with so much kindness! And there’s no one even to bring her a glass of water!

She has a heart condition, but how can she afford to see a doctor? Her tiny pension barely covers food and utilities. And still… all she wants is to spend her last years with a shred of dignity.

She urgently needs a portable toilet. Right now, she can’t go outside, and – pardon the detail – she has to use a bucket.

Bathing? It’s simply not possible. She can’t make it to the bathroom.

Look at her old, worn-out cane. It’s no wonder she keeps falling. She desperately needs a new one – urgently!

This poor woman, confined to her bed, needs medicine, adult diapers, and warm clothes.

Friends, we will all grow old one day.   Let’s come together and make life a little easier for this suffering grandmother. Let’s remind her what joy feels like. 

All of us at the foundation are willing to do anything to help this poor elderly lady. But we need ideas. Maybe we could hire someone?
Please tell us what we can do to make sure this grandmother spends the rest of her life with dignity – not as if she’s been tossed away like trash.
