Meet the Papuashvili family from the village of Gomi in the Khashuri Municipality – one of the many vulnerable families we support. Can you imagine a household with two small children having absolutely nothing? No beds, no refrigerator, no washing machine, no gas stove, no television. Even the house they live in is rented. The roof leaks so badly that when it rains, water pours inside just like it does outside. They pay 300 GEL a month for this shelter – almost half of their entire social allowance. At the Fund, we believe these girls will grow up and do great things for our beloved Georgia. They will raise strong sons for this country – and most importantly, they will never forget your kindness. We’re certain that help will come to this struggling home very soon. Gio suffers from severe scoliosis. His spine is twisted at a 90-degree angle. The curve has created a large hump that presses so hard on his lungs, doctors are amazed he can breathe at all. Thirty-eight-year-old Anna walks with her son every day and evening in that same rusted wheelchair – with no back support. Her heart breaks knowing she can’t afford a proper wheelchair. Her husband left seven years ago and has never once asked about his son’s condition.

Anna, 38 (Mate’s mom): Our only income is 200 lari of social allowance and 425 lari of Mate’s disability pension. What should I spend it on – food, diapers, medicine, or rehabilitation?” I can’t even afford buying a decent wheelchair with back support for my son.

Mate can barely move by this rusty and falling apart wheelchair… How can the local authorities watch this child suffer and do nothing? Why did they take those jobs – just to collect a paycheck?

A natural-born beauty. But this poor child is afraid to look in the mirror, because her severe anemia has left her deathly pale.

This is Mariam’s sister, 10-year-old Ani. When she told our Funf’s reporter about her only sister’s illness, tears burst from her sea-colored eyes.

Ani (10-year-old): “My sister loses consciousness and collapses. In those moments, I think she’s died, and I scream so loudly that I’m sure all of Samegrelo can hear me… Please, kind people, help us! Don’t leave us alone… I will pray for you, for your children and your parents for the rest of my life.
If something happens to Mariam, I can’t imagine living without her.
I want to make her happy somehow, but I don’t have any money for a gift. So, I pick these flowers for her and weave them into a ‘royal crown’ with my own hands.”

Anastasia’s father acted worse than a wild animal – he abandoned the mother and two very young children. He walked away without offering any help or support. It’s hard to understand how the earth bears people like that. And now, this poor young mother is alone in this cruel battle.

Even animals don’t behave like this. Anastasia’s mother, 24-year-old Milana, is struggling to raise three little children on her own. She is desperate – begging on her knees for someone to help save her daughter. Little Anastasia’s life is now in your hands. All of Georgia must come together and stand against the cruel fate that has been chasing this angel of a child since the moment she was born.

Anastasia is fighting for her life. She spent 45 days in the hospital, and the doctors had almost no hope she would survive.

Her son, Pridon, is 60 years old. He has insulin-dependent diabetes, during his service in the Army he suffered serious brain damage. He mostly gets around in a wheelchair! Sometimes he tries to walk, but it’s quite hard for him. His speech is slurred. And what’s hardest to bear – he sometimes becomes severely aggressive. He’s a Group 2 disabled person, and he likely doesn’t realize that around his mother, not only should he never raise his voice – he should barely even breathe. If something happens to his mother, his life will end in an instant. Because his 85-year-old mother suffers from atrial fibrillation and dangerously high blood pressure.

They live in heartbreaking poverty, in complete disrepair, inside a rusty old train carriage. There’s no one to help them but us, friends.

Marina (69): “If I don’t get an oxygen machine, I’ll suffocate. Breathing is so hard…  I need it like I need air! I have pulmonary fibrosis. But I just don’t have money to buy this life-saving machine. Even my pension isn’t enough to cover my medications…” Friends, this is one of those moments when passing by is not an option. You can’t just read this story and not act. That would be a crime. During a meeting at the foundation, we decided to purchase a 10-liter oxygen concentrator and an oxygen cylinder, as well as cover the cost of a chest CT scan and transportation to the Todua Clinic. We also plan to provide hygiene products, adult diapers, medication, a medical bed, an anti-decubitus mattress, and a blood pressure monitor. Dear readers, how many people do you know in Georgia who have lost their only child, become widows, lost a leg, and are now homeless? This poor woman has no one left but a cat. If even the cat won’t leave her side, then how can we, as human beings, not stretch out a helping hand to someone in such deep trouble? If we could just build a small ramp beside the staircase, Nana’s suffering would ease. She could use her wheelchair to get outside, sit in the sun, and breathe the fresh morning air. But for now, she is trapped in her dark room because she physically can’t get down the stairs.

None of us knows what tomorrow will bring. Life works like a boomerang: what we give is what we get. The day will come when we all stand before the Lord. What answer will we give? How will we justify ourselves? You don’t need to be rich to extend a helping hand to someone in despair. All you need is a kind heart.

The young mother of two can’t take a single step, even with the help of a cane — the poor woman drags her legs behind her. Her little angels, who themselves can barely move and suffer terrible pain, try to help their mother get around. Blessed be the strength and love of motherhood. The truth is a pathological illness that causes paralysis of the lower limbs settled in the Bichiasvili family half a century ago. Everyone in Tsnori knows about this “incurable” disease that passes from generation to generation, unstoppable by anything. Has a demon really taken root in the Bichiasvili family?

This angelic little girl is now the third generation to be afflicted by this terrible disease. Just one glance into her eyes is enough to tear your soul apart with pity.

In just a few days, Anri is scheduled to undergo a kidney transplant abroad. His own kidney can no longer be saved, and he desperately needs a healthy donor kidney! The Ministry of Health has funded the surgery, but the heartbreaking reality is that his parents can’t afford the dialysis that his life now depends on.

One dialysis session abroad costs $200 and needs to be done three times a week.  According to doctors, the total amount needed is $3,400. We cannot lose Anri just because the money wasn’t raised in time. Every minute counts toward his fate!

Weakness, dizziness, unbearable pain that makes him want to scream… How does his frail, exhausted, pale body even endure all of this?

Three seriously ill brothers are collecting scrap metal to avoid starving to death! They urgently need food and medicine! They will die without our help, without any exaggeration! Nino, mother (55 years old): “We hand over scrap metal, sometimes they give us 3 lari for it, sometimes 20. You know how offensive it is when children ask for food, but are unable to understand due to illness why I sometimes don’t even give them a piece of stale bread! It’s offensive to the point of tears!” These are 17-year-old twins Niya and Nikoloz. The boy was born in a sitting position, the birth was very difficult, the child was taken out with forceps. Due to oxygen starvation, Nikoloz suffered brain damage.  Poor, poor Nikoloz! The boy doesn’t speak and can’t do anything on his own. His mother has been looking after him like a baby for 17 years. But the worst thing is that she has two more of these “grown-up babies”! Shotiko suffers from asthma attacks. He had meningitis as a child. He doesn’t speak, just one word: “mom.” He communicates with his family using gestures.

This family’s story is a true tragedy, dear friends. And it will take all of us, together, to bring a ray of divine light back into their home. Meet the deeply unfortunate Jeiranashvili family. At the edge of the couch sits 48-year-old Tina. She was still young when her first child died – because of a doctor’s negligence. Her second child… a long-awaited, beautiful little angel named Khatia, suffers from a severe brain injury. The poor girl can’t say a single word. And if she doesn’t receive treatment soon, her condition will worsen: her hormones will become imbalanced, her facial hair will grow… It’s horrifying. Even just one lari donated by you will make a big difference and ensure that this horrible room is first disinfected, wallpapered, and that the floor is laid, so that rain and wind no longer come through the broken windows. Later, we will share videos with you so you can see for yourself that it was you who saved this doomed family. This great kindness will surely return to you on the most difficult path of your life. Givi (75 years old): “There is no greater misfortune than blindness. I suffer so much, I would rather lose my legs than my eyesight. I can’t even afford the eye drops that might save me from going completely blind. Is this really a life?”

Olga (85 years old): “You won’t find a family in greater need than ours in the entire village of Tkviavi.”

These elderly people are surviving on week-old bread. Can you imagine? And there’s no one to help them. That’s why their only hope is you—kind-hearted people!

Not long ago, Olga fell and broke her arm. The poor woman had to undergo major surgery. Doctors had to reconstruct her arm and insert metal implants.

She now needs medical check-ups, but the family doesn’t even have enough money for a basic X-ray.  They don’t have a washing machine either. Just imagine how hard it is for an 85-year-old woman to wash and wring out laundry with one hand.

This adorable child is three-year-old Luka from the city of Gori. The child will soon turn four, but on his birthday, instead of balloons and colorful candles, suffering awaits him. The thing is, Luka cannot walk or even crawl. The biggest tragedy is that the child cannot say a word. He also cannot eat solid food. It is so terrible!

Luka’s poor mother has no money to provide her child with full treatment abroad. Doctors in Georgia were unable to cure him.

The child’s condition was carefully assessed in a Turkish clinic, and fortunately, the child has every chance of a full recovery. For this, exomatherapy is needed. This procedure activates brain cells.

The cost of one procedure is 1 200 euros. The child needs 4 procedures, which means that the recovery of this poor child will require a total of 4 800 euros.

Easter is near. And even when something seems impossible – through God, all things are possible. Kind-hearted friends, we at the Fund truly believe that together – just as we’ve done many times before – we can work a real miracle and send Mariam abroad for examination and treatment. If the Turkish doctors confirm that the surgeries are possible, we’ll keep you updated every step of the way. And please, pray. Pray. Pray. We ask this of you with all our hearts. Four months ago, on December 17 – Saint Barbara’s Day -Guram’s life changed forever. He celebrated the holiday the way it’s usually done in Georgia – with plenty of food and drink – but somehow, Guram was the only one who got sick. He fell into a deep sleep, and during the night began to vomit. It seemed like nothing serious – but his airways became blocked by saliva, cutting off oxygen to his brain. And just like that, this handsome young man fell into a coma.

Day and night, his loving mother caresses her son – her whole world.  Everything in their home has already been sold. With her last bit of money, she pays 6600 GEL a month just to keep the love of her life alive.

Friends, there is now a glimmer of hope to help Guram get back on his feet. A special implant has become available – it can be used to treat his brain! But it costs $3,000, and the family simply doesn’t have that kind of money.  Today, this is the price of his life.   Please, don’t forget that.

Lali (9-year-old): “Look how fairly Mama split this piece of bread between us! The only bad thing is that sometimes we have no food at all… Then my tummy hurts, and I can’t even run because I’m so weak. And Mama didn’t save any bread for herself. They say all moms are like that.”

Ketevan, mother (26 years old): “My husband is seriously ill – he has tuberculosis and a stomach condition. He barely eats anything. But we have no money for doctors or medicine. Our first concern is feeding the kids.  Please help us get medical checkups. If something happens to my husband, what will become of my children? Who will take care of them? We survive only on social allowance. We have to buy food on credit—just to stay alive.”

Dear friends, the children need beds, warm blankets, clothes – and most importantly, food. They also need a repaired roof and a new window so they can stay warm and dry when it rains. These little ones have already suffered too much. But we can ease their suffering. Please help this large family in need.

This brave mother of four brought her fourth child – Barbare – into this world for our little Georgia.  But her happiness was tragically short-lived. Now Barbare, just two years old, sleeps on her dying mother’s chest. Lord, have mercy…

Shortly after giving birth, Shorena began losing weight at an alarming rate. She didn’t go to the doctor. She spent every last penny feeding her children instead.  And now – this is the devastating result. Doctors diagnosed her with anorexia.
She has wasted away to skin and bones.

Shorena urgently needs gastric bypass surgery. It costs 12,500 GEL. The state is covering half, but how can the family afford the rest when they live on just 320 GEL a month in social allowance?

Anna-Maria: “Please, kind people, save my mommy!”

How could anyone say no to a 6-year-old’s plea when her mother’s life is at stake? Friends, let’s hear the prayers of this little angel. This sweet girl is counting on us!

Sweet 84-year-old Grandma Mary, kind as an angel, hasn’t stepped outside the door of her house in five years.

She lives all alone. Poor, poor woman – yet her eyes are still filled with so much kindness! And there’s no one even to bring her a glass of water!

She has a heart condition, but how can she afford to see a doctor? Her tiny pension barely covers food and utilities. And still… all she wants is to spend her last years with a shred of dignity.

She urgently needs a portable toilet. Right now, she can’t go outside, and – pardon the detail – she has to use a bucket.

Bathing? It’s simply not possible. She can’t make it to the bathroom.

Look at her old, worn-out cane. It’s no wonder she keeps falling. She desperately needs a new one – urgently!

This poor woman, confined to her bed, needs medicine, adult diapers, and warm clothes.

Nikoloz was born with this terrible condition 15 years ago, and every day since has been a living nightmare.  He cannot talk. He can only make a few sounds. The poor boy can’t even close his mouth properly. And even when he manages to do so, it’s only for a couple of minutes – then the two tongues push it open again. It’s heartbreaking. It’s worse than a nightmare.

And this is not the only issue he faces.  There’s what looks like a hump growing on his back. He suffers from intense spinal pain. Nikoloz was also born with a severe congenital heart defect.

His first heart surgery was done when he was a newborn. The second and third were performed when he was five and seven. But the most terrifying part is that Nikoloz was born without an atrial septum, and his heart has only three chambers instead of four. This means oxygen and carbon dioxide mix together in his blood.  His life is constantly hanging by a thread, and his heart could stop at any moment. Oh Lord, please don’t let this tragedy happen to the Berberashvili family.  Nikoloz also struggles to walk.  He can only take a few steps before collapsing from exhaustion.
The rest… well, you can probably imagine yourself, dear reader.

Friends, Lasha’s future – his very life – depends on financial support. That’s the harsh reality. After all he’s endured, he now needs two extremely complex hip surgeries just to start moving again. Right now, his body is literally frozen in one position. Each operation costs 18,000 GEL in Georgia – first one leg, then the other in about three months. After that, he’ll need long-term rehabilitation. Please don’t doubt: every lari you donate will go directly to pay for Lasha’s treatment and will be transferred straight to the clinic. Let all of Georgia come together for this kind cause! Tell your friends and loved ones about Lasha. Together, we are strong- and together, we can help this young man stand again and return to life. Just imagine how much he wants that.                 

When was the last time you saw something more heartbreaking? A brother and sister – Zaza and Tatia Abazashvili – digging through garbage. Zaza is nine. Tatia is twelve. Yes, these innocent children are looking for their “piece of happiness” in the trash. This is beyond terrible. It’s not just one family’s suffering—it’s a tragedy for all of humanity.

Tatia (12-year-old): “I try to go to the garbage dump when no one can see me because I’m ashamed. But in our village of Chumlaki, everyone already knows that my brother and I search for clothes in the trash. Some kids at school laugh at me.  One classmate, who was seated next to me by our teacher, keeps arguing and begging to be moved to a different desk. ‘I don’t want to sit next to you,’ she says, ‘because you wear clothes you found in the trash.’”

Today was a lucky day for this poor girl. Do you know what made her happy? This torn robe. Someone had thrown it away. When Tatia spotted it, her eyes lit up – because she had nothing to wear this spring.

She put it on right away, standing there next to the dumpster. But does she deserve this? Does any child deserve to live like this?

Look at her, pulling trash bags from the dumpster, rummaging through them, hoping to find something “usable.” Horrific. Absolutely horrific.

Gio (9 years old): “The tumor in her head is so big that she’s gone completely blind in one eye. My poor Mommy…”

Gio: “Mommy, don’t cry. Everything will be okay. You’re strong – you have to beat this for our sake! Who will take care of us if not you?”

Two tumors have taken root in Asmat’s brain, pressing against her central nervous system, slowly destroying her body. It’s like a ticking time bomb that could go off at any moment…

Asmat (36 years old): “I barely survived the biopsy. The surgeons said the tumor is in a dangerous spot. One wrong move, and I wouldn’t be here now.”

Asmat’s husband, David, had to leave his job to care for her. Now, he is her hands and her legs. Since the paralysis set in, she can’t stand or walk on her own.

Lali, mother (22 years old): Please, dear (she turns to the correspondent, her voice filled with sorrow), please say this so that other mothers can hear me: My heart breaks when I see my child – my own flesh and blood – suffering! I would give her my own legs if I only knew such surgeries were possible! But one doctor said that abroad, they can perform operations like this. Her feet are deformed and don’t bend properly. Her legs are so thin and fragile that her bones crack with every step— her mother is terrified they will break. Without your help, Anna-Maria won’t make it! Please extend a helping hand and give this little girl a chance at a normal life!

The house where this pregnant mother lives with her three small children is on the verge of collapse. She can’t even find peace in her sleep—she doesn’t know if her children will wake up safe in their beds or buried under the ruins. Just the thought of it sends shivers down the spine. Desperate and exhausted, this pregnant mother reached out to the Fund, hesitantly asking if we could share her story with kindhearted people like you. We gave her our word and kept it—now it’s your turn. Let’s not wait until tragedy strikes. If we do nothing, we will never forgive ourselves. Remember: every lari you donate will give these four little angels a safe home. And God will never forget your kindness.

This is six-year-old Liliana. She was born completely healthy, and her single mother adored her.  Even though they struggled financially, their home was filled with joy because Liliana was healthy. Health is the greatest wealth in life.

On her fourth birthday, despite their hardships, her mother managed to buy ingredients for a homemade cake.  That evening, a happy Liliana blew out her candles. She welcomed her fourth year with excitement, never knowing that it would also bring devastation to her family.

One morning, Liliana woke up with a high fever. She was shaking, her throat hurt, and she was so weak she couldn’t even get out of bed. “Oh, it must be that awful virus,” her mother thought, and rushed to the pharmacy with the few coins she had. But who could have imagined that this “awful virus” would turn Liliana’s life into a living nightmare? The angelic little girl developed uncontrollable epilepsy.

Mariam’s scoliosis is pressing harder and harder on her lungs each day – sometimes completely cutting off her oxygen supply. The pain she endures is unbearable. She can’t sleep, she can’t stand up, she can’t even turn over in bed. 

Her ribcage is becoming more deformed with each passing day, and no painkillers can ease her suffering anymore. Her parents are praying on their knees for just one thing: to get her abroad for the surgery that could save her life. But where can a nearly destitute family find such a huge amount of money? If we waste any time, it will be too late. 

Lika, mother (37 years old): “I’ve been carrying my daughter in my arms for 18 years, and I will carry her for as long as I live… but I’m running out of strength.

She is 18 now – the best years of a girl’s life. Sometimes dark thoughts creep into my mind, making me wonder if God has forgotten some of us. But I immediately pray, because I know thinking that way is a terrible sin. I believe that in moments like these, God gives us all a chance – to defeat the devil through kindness and compassion!

Mariam was born with microcephaly—her skull developed abnormally, leaving no room for her brain to grow. 

Dear friends – meet Grandma Butsa – a 90-year-old Georgian woman, kind-hearted and proud as ever! She is so sweet! She has spent her long life caring for countless people in Georgia, giving her warmth and kindness without ever asking for anything in return. But now, as the sun sets on her life, she wonders if it will rise for her tomorrow… And today, she dreams of a bowl of meat soup—it even came to her in a dream last night. 

She was born before the Second World War. Despite the hardships, she had a happy childhood. In 1935, there were no phones, no tablets, no fancy clothes. People read books by candlelight, knitted, and gathered in the evenings to cook and share meals together. Life was difficult, but love, warmth, and kindness filled every home. This is the world in which Butsa grew up.

As a young girl, she dreamed of having a big family. Do you know how she imagined her old age? Sitting by the fireplace, with her grandchildren climbing onto her lap, running her fingers through their tangled hair after playing outside. She would tell them Georgian fairy tales – her voice getting softer and softer as their little eyes started to close. And one by one, she would carry them to bed, tuck them under a warm blanket, and kiss them goodnight.

But nearly a century has passed, and that dream never came true. Grandma Butsa has no children, no grandchildren. 

One look into her eyes is enough to make your whole body tremble. It is a gaze that chills the blood. The last time she ate was two days ago. Today, all she had was a piece of bread. Instead of milk, she drank water. God, this is worse than a nightmare! A child, weakened by cold and hunger, no longer even has the strength to cry.

Exhausted, she couldn’t stand any longer, so she rested her head on her mother’s shoulder and wiped her bitter tears on her mother’s faded sweater. Look at the pain in the mother’s eyes. This is not just physical suffering – it is a wound deep in her soul.

This is 28-year-old Medea. A young woman who is already a mother of two. And now, God has sent her a third angel from heaven. A child is the greatest gift from God. Yes, Medea is four months pregnant.
