Ayakanush (34 years old): “When my daughter fell seriously ill, we cried so much – not just because she was sick, but because we were poor. To save her, we had to sell her computer – our only ‘treasure,’ the one thing helping her study. So in the end, we traded a computer for her life… When children feel like they’re living in poverty—it’s just so unfair!

Ayakanush (34 years old): “My children and I are barely surviving on social allowance. My husband had heart surgery – he had a stent placed. We nearly lost him because we didn’t have the money for treatment. Thank God for our kind neighbors who helped cover the cost. Even with my job at a cheese factory, we barely make enough to buy food. We haven’t been able to buy his medications for months.”

Ayakanush: “Lord, how much suffering we’ve been through. My ex-husband used to beat me every time he drank. I had to escape. Thank God that’s behind me now. I got married again. My new husband is a good man – he accepted me along with my two children.  

Aikanush suffers from thyroid issues, but she can’t afford tests or treatment. Just imagine – after a hard day at work, she still has to wash clothes by hand, because they don’t even have a washing machine.

Water is heated in plastic basins using a simple immersion heater. It’s not life – it’s struggle.

The family pays 400 GEL per month for a rented house with broken windows and a leaking ceiling. But they have nowhere else to go.

The children do everything they can to help their mother, just to keep her from crying. Yoseb is 14. Mariam is 13.  They go without many things. They need clothing, shoes, and school supplies.

There aren’t enough beds – so the mother sleeps with her daughter, and the father with the son. There isn’t even a proper wardrobe. Clothes are kept on the windowsill.

But despite all the hardship, these children are not bitter. Their hearts are full of love – or God and for others. Whenever Mariam sees a stray animal, she brings it home and shares her bread with it. What a big heart this little girl has!

There’s no time to waste – this family urgently needs help! First and foremost: medications. To lighten the load for this worn-out mother, the family urgently needs a washing machine and a water heater. They also need beds and a wardrobe. The children need clothes, shoes, and school supplies.
