Stage III lung cancer is one of the hardest to treat. “I really want some noodle soup! Will you share some with me, ma’am?” and that’s all the 11-year-old boy asks for. A child who has no childhood, no food, no clothes – and no reason to believe in tomorrow. Because his mother is dying from Stage III lung cancer.

REPOST RIGHT AWAY, MY GOOD MAN! HELP YOUR FRIENDS FIND THE WAY TO GOD!

But friends, this story isn’t just about soup. It’s a story of a life falling apart – in a home where a mother is dying of cancer, and her son was born with a heart defect and has been through three heart surgeries. The fourth was for a hernia.

This single mother is slowly dying of lung cancer. Her son drinks water just to feel less hungry. When there’s no food in the house, no furniture, no hope—only a whisper remains…“Mama, just don’t die…”

In a room without even a chair, Lia (52 years-old) lies gasping for air.
When I stepped into their tiny room and saw her in that state, I felt like I couldn’t breathe either – like I was suffocating with her.

Lia: “We’re dying in this room! No food, no air, no hope!”

They’re not asking for miracles. They’re begging for help. Food. The chance to breathe.
In a world as advanced as ours, can you imagine this? A family begging for bread…A mother suffocating from cancer, and her child – from hunger. They live in a single room. They sleep, eat, fall ill, and survive – all in one place.

The mother is dying – and you can hear it. Every breath sounds like the final gasp of a dying animal. And right there beside her stands a little boy. Eleven years old. Staring into an empty pot.

Mate: “Mom… are we having soup today? Just soup…”

That silence is poverty screaming.

Lia Chkhikvadze lungs are being destroyed by cancer. Stage III. She can’t speak – she’s gasping for air.
She can’t work – her body no longer obeys. She can’t even cry – there’s not enough breath left for tears. She just lies there and whispers: “Forgive me, my children… That I’m still alive. That I can’t do anything for you…” She can’t even finish the sentence – she runs out of breath.

Her son Mate, 11, sits on the floor. There are no chairs. There’s no real food – just a tomato today, not even bread. He has the eyes of someone who learned too soon that life depends less on dreams and more on whether you have something to eat. Mate dreams of becoming a football player. Not a star, not a millionaire – just someone who runs on a field, hears the whistle, and scores goals. But because of his condition, he can’t play. His heart can’t handle the strain. A single moment could make him lose consciousness – and if no one’s there, he may never wake up. That’s why his mother never leaves him alone. Never.
Doctors say he doesn’t need another surgery right now, but they continue to monitor him. He no longer runs. He just stares at the ball.

And when his mother isn’t watching, he picks it up and whispers: “I’ll be a footballer, Mom… If only you don’t die.”

He doesn’t ask for toys. He doesn’t ask for clothes. He just asks for a normal meal. There’s nothing to eat. No one to turn to. This isn’t a metaphor. It’s their reality. They are dying – slowly – each in their own body, in their own pain, in their own silence. No one hears them. Be the one who does. There is no laughter here. Only coughing, and the sound of empty stomachs. This isn’t a place to live. It’s a place to survive. Not a home – a cage, where one woman is slowly suffocating and two children silently grow old from fear.

They have a fridge, a washing machine, and a TV – donated by the Fund a few years ago. They have a window, installed by a kind young woman named Sofo. And that’s it. Right now, they have nothing.

The state covers chemotherapy and necessary medical procedures for the family… But not bread.

And what good are pills when there’s no food? What’s the point of treatment when a person lies in darkness, starving, unable to take a full breath? “I’m not afraid of death. I’m afraid of dying and leaving my children with nothing. Not even soup…”
This isn’t poetry. These are her words. Spoken in a whisper, between coughing fits. “There are three of us. But there’s only enough food for one. Sometimes not even that.”

The family’s income: 450 GEL in social allowance.
Once a year, Lia receives 500 GEL as a single mother.
That’s all. “Sometimes I watch my son drink water just to stop the hunger… And I wonder why I’m still alive.”

Please. Look at this photo. This is a life falling apart.
Not in a movie. Not in a novel. Here, nearby. In the village of Skra, in the Gori Municipality. They don’t have the strength to ask. No breath left to scream.

But you hear this cry. And that means you can be the one who answers.

If you are willing to visit the family and help them in person, here is their address: Gori Municipality, village Skra.

REPOST RIGHT AWAY, MY GOOD MAN! HELP YOUR FRIENDS GET CLOSER TO THE WORK OF MERCY!

THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP!

Lia’s left lung has been consumed by cancer. Her right lung was saved – but only after 9 rounds of chemotherapy. We came to visit just before her 10th round, hoping to bring her and her sons a little hope. Lia made it to the gate and smiled. On that sunny day, with good news in her heart, Lia’s will to live proved stronger than her illness.

Lia is battling stage III lung cancer.
It feels like a never-ending tug-of-war between life and death. And every gift you bring, every donation you make, pulls her a little closer to life – it restores strength and energy.

Dear friends, the new table and chairs, the dresser, the gas stove, the beautiful dishes, cozy bed linens, the electric kettle and toaster, and the tablet for Mate – they are more than just comfort that the children never knew. They are proof that life goes on, that their mother Lia can defeat cancer!
When Lia saw how much we believed in her – she smiled! For a few precious hours, she twisted that damned cancer into a knot!

A LETTER OF GRATITUDE FROM LIA
Lia’s sons, Mate and Gio – such warm and wonderful boys – saw hope in your eyes, and it lifted their spirits! They did everything they could to keep their mother smiling just a little longer.
When Lia saw all the gifts, her heart skipped a beat. This frail, cancer-stricken mother gathered all her strength to write a thank-you letter to you, God’s people!

They made sandwiches in the new toaster, poured her tea from the new electric kettle, and made her bed with the lovely new linens. This was the first time in this poor family’s life that their table was full of food.

Mate: «Mom, I’m taking you to a café!  Your order will be ready in five minutes! Please enjoy, my dear, beautiful Madam Lia!  Our toasts are the best! Mom, I picked a pink checkered blanket just for you, because you’re a girl. Our beautiful girl. Rest now, Mom!»
In this family, everything revolves around cancer. Is mom feeling okay? Or is it one of the bad days? Is she with them – or with the disease? Is she breathing… or struggling to breathe?
We also witnessed a moment when the illness fought back. Lia quietly stepped away, lay down, and began gasping loudly for breath – filling the entire room with the sound of her pain.

In that moment, all you can do is take the boys by the hand and hold them close. Little Mate, who has already had three heart surgeries, hugs her to tears. We will fight for Lia – and we will bring her back from this war.

Let Lia stay with us – not with cancer. Let her have the costly medicine she needs to keep fighting. Let her sons have the food we’ve pledged to provide. Let the family receive a new gas heater, so they no longer freeze in winter. Lia will win – if we stand with her.
Love and kindness have a power so great, they can even defeat death.

Mate was so overjoyed, he forgot all about being shy. He even started singing from sheer emotion!

Let’s smile, my friends! It’s because of all of you that Mate is filled with happiness! His smile is meant just for you!

Today, you’ll hear the joyful voice of our sweet and kind boy, Mate – the boy you gave a tablet to. It’s the first time in a very long while that he’s laughed and smiled like this. The joyful spark had long disappeared from his beautiful brown eyes.

Because his mother, Lia, is battling cancer. This illness had robbed the family of every joy. But then—Mate received the tablet he had been dreaming about. And the first person he rushed to share that joy with, as if it were his most precious treasure, was his mother.

For a long time now, Mate has been caring for his mother as she fights a malignant tumor. His childhood dreams faded away, replaced by pain that whispered to him every day: “Your dream will never come true.”

But today – today is a day Mate will remember for the rest of his life! For the first time, he held the tablet he had longed for in his hands. He couldn’t believe his eyes: “Is this tablet really mine? Am I dreaming?”

Mate: “Mommy, look! Isn’t it cool? Are you happy, Mommy?”

Lia, now in stage 3 of cancer, smiled warmly and sent you her blessings. She prayed that God would protect you from illness and sorrow. Because to Mate, this tablet is more than just a long-awaited gift. It carries your love, your kindness. It gives strength and hope to their little family—just a mother and her two boys.

This visit was full of hugs. Whether the camera was rolling or not, we were hugging Mate, sharing his overflowing joy. Lia is raising him to be a grateful and kind-hearted young man. She’s raising him alone. Without money.  But with so much love and wisdom.

Mate thanks you for giving him the chance to sing along with YouTube. He’s grateful that he can now play educational business games too.  Oh yes – that’s his plan: to become a businessman! To live without hardship, and one day show his family a different kind of life.

Listen to him sing! Just listen! Out of gratitude and happiness, Mate forgot his shyness and began to sing:

“Your black hair, your coffee eyes…

If you’re not here—I’ll be gone too…”

I think this song is about his mother. Of course—it must be. Every thought in Mate’s heart is with his mother, who is fighting for her life.

Let’s make a promise to wonderful Mate: that his mom, Lia, will live. She urgently needs expensive medications and special nutrition. And if we join together to help – we can defeat cancer with her!
