We can’t let 18-month-old Data die! Every single day could be the last for this little Georgian angel. And the suffering he endures… Oh, no! Words can’t even begin to describe it. And once again, the same Georgian doctors who failed to diagnose him in time are now calmly waiting for him to die… The Ministry of Health still hasn’t made a decision to fund his brain scan. It’s absolutely appalling!

When Data was just 15 days old, he was diagnosed with glaucoma in Georgia. But a later examination abroad revealed the heartbreaking truth: It wasn’t glaucoma at all, but a stage 4 malignant tumor growing behind his eye.

By then, the cancer had already spread to his brain. He was only 40 days old when doctors performed his first brain surgery, but they couldn’t fully remove the tumor. At 8 months old, this tiny, fragile body endured chemotherapy.

During a second operation, doctors tried again to remove the tumor from his brain.

And that’s when the unthinkable happened: Six hours after the surgery, his heart stopped. He was just one millimeter from death. But God worked a miracle – doctors managed to restart his heart.

Unfortunately, during the cardiac arrest, his brain was left without oxygen and suffered damage. He spent seven months in intensive care. Today, he lies unconscious at home, cared for by his poor mother. Data can’t see, can’t respond to anything. Only his body, his head, and his eyes react to excruciating pain.

He urgently needs a new brain scan, but his mother simply can’t afford it.

Luiza, mother (38-year-old): “The doctors in Georgia said it was glaucoma, while a deadly tumor was eating away at my child. They lost precious time – and the cancer spread to his brain.”

Luiza: “The medicines Data needs to survive aren’t even available in Georgia. And now I face an impossible choice:
Use the little money we scraped together to pay for the oxygen machine rental, travel to Turkey to buy the expensive medications, or buy filters for his tracheostomy, which cost 800 GEL each month.

But what’s the point of any of it, if I can’t afford the most important thing – his brain scan? The doctor fears the cancer has spread to new areas of his brain. My poor boy is writhing in pain. He’s dying not only from cancer… but from poverty.”

Without this scan, it’s impossible to prescribe the right treatment.

Even for a moment – imagine if Data were your child. That thought alone is enough to freeze the blood in your veins. Yes, he’s someone else’s child. But life is cruel and unpredictable.
