His eyes are half-open. There’s light in them, but no gaze. He breathes, yet it’s as if he’s somewhere else. His lips are slightly parted, as if about to speak something incredibly important… Yet… no sound comes out.

This is Shalva Petrosyan, 38 years old. He simply woke up one morning with stomach pain. He took a painkiller, thinking it would pass. But the pain didn’t go away.

That night, it was ambulance, hospital, pancreatitis, oxygen, and the look of helplessness in his eyes. He called home, asking someone to come: “I feel bad… help me…” – the last words he spoke consciously.

When he was moved to an intensive care unit, doctors removed the oxygen mask. Just a few minutes were enough for his heart to stop, for his brain to fall into darkness – a darkness he has not emerged from for weeks.

And now he lies there. Sometimes he opens his eyes, as if he hears, as if he understands, as if he wants to be back but cannot. No doctor can promise that he will ever be who he was.

Shalva only opens his eyes when his mother kisses his forehead – just like when he was a child, sick with a cold and a high fever. Oh, if only those times could come back…

And yet, he has already beaten the impossible once: ten years ago, a car hit him, shattering his legs. For six years, he fought, crawled, stood up, and learned to walk again. He achieved the impossible. He got back on his feet when no one believed he could.

But now – everything is different. Shalva cannot even move a finger. Only his breathing shows that life still flickers somewhere deep beneath his closed eyelids.

He used to be an ordinary factory worker, quiet and hardworking, who never complained, never asked for anything. And today, his fate is a silent cry. A cry for help that we can hear only with our hearts.

Life has taken from him not only his health, but also the chance to start a family.
All these years of pain, struggle, and recovery passed in solitude. He never became a father, never heard the laughter of children in his own home. And yet he is still young, and he should have had a future – simple, human happiness: a wife, children, a home where he is awaited.
This man deserves a chance not just to survive, but to truly live, to love and be loved.

He has already beaten death once.
Ten years ago, a car hit him. His legs were shattered, he spent six years in bed, endured three surgeries, and got back on his feet. He proved the impossible is possible.

But now – this is a different battle. And this time, he cannot fight alone. For Shalva to regain even a little consciousness, speech, or movement, he needs rehabilitation abroad.
Doctors in Georgia are powerless. Only overseas is there a chance to bring him back to life. 

He has already proven he can return from the edge of nothingness. Let’s help him do it again. Let’s help life defeat death! Let’s save Shalva!  And he will surely tell us about Heaven and Hell, and about the Lord who will not abandon him if we take the suffering of others into our hearts!
