“Breathe, my little one… I’m here.” – A mother’s love is stronger than pain, than the body, stronger even than fate. We ask all of you to join a bloody battle – a battle for the life of Fatman’s daughter.
REPOST RIGHT AWAY, MY GOOD MAN! HELP YOUR FRIENDS TO GET CLOSER TO GOD!
“Breathe, my little one… do you hear me? Breathe…”
“Could this be the last breath of little Ana-Maria?”
Lord, I beg You – do not let this tiny heart stop beating forever. She wants to live so much.
The seizure comes suddenly – as always. Ana-Maria’s hands twist at unnatural angles, her eyes roll back, her breath comes in sharp, broken gasps.
It lasts only a few seconds. Fatman doesn’t scream. She doesn’t cry. She hasn’t had the strength – or the time – for that in a long while.
“See? This happens several times a day…” she says quietly, pain flickering in her eyes as she looks at her child. “Breathe, my little one… do you hear me? Breathe…” – she repeats softly, almost voicelessly, like a prayer she knows by heart. She grips her daughter’s hand tightly, trying to let her feel that Mama is here. Always. But you can never grow used to the nearness of death – not when it’s your loved one’s. One day, Ana-Maria may not “come back” after a seizure.
Fatman is only 33. A single mother. And she needs our help.
Her seven-year-old daughter Ana-Maria has severe brain damage. She cannot walk. She cannot talk. She cannot hold things in her hands or sit without support.
She only looks upward – with intelligent eyes, as if she sees or listens to someone invisible. Maybe they are angels, praying for her healing.
Once, Fatman took her daughter to rehabilitation. She spent hours helping her muscles “remember” movements they never knew.
But then her own body gave out – her spine cracked, her arms failed.
“Every day I pray, Lord, please heal my little angel. Give me strength to stay by her side. Please, give me strength…”
Journalist: Fatman, why did you turn to our Fund? How can kind people help you?
Fatman: Everything you see here – none of it belongs to me. I rent this house only because the rehabilitation center for Ana-Maria is nearby. All the furniture belongs to the landlord. When he finishes repairing another house, he’ll take it all away. Then… I don’t even know where or on what we’ll sleep. Paying rent is so hard. We live on social aid, but 400 lari go to rent — and there’s nothing left. Often we run out of food or diapers. We don’t even have a refrigerator.”
Fatman doesn’t ask for miracles. She doesn’t ask for saving life. She doesn’t ask for an easier fate. She only asks for the few things that make life human: A washing machine, so her hands can be for her daughter, not endless rinsing. A refrigerator, so food won’t spoil. Diapers. Help with rent.
Fatman: “In the village, I could rent something cheap,” she says, “but I had to stay in the city — taking Ana-Maria from the countryside to the clinic every day would be impossible.”
Can epilepsy be cured completely? Sometimes yes – but it depends on which part of the brain is damaged. That requires precise diagnostics and expensive equipment – only found in the best clinics in Europe, sometimes even Russia.
Fatman’s husband is in prison. He has no contact with his wife or children. She faces everything alone.
She is only thirty-three. And her entire life now revolves around one thing – the fragile health of her little Ana-Maria. Besides Ana-Maria, she has another daughter, fourteen-year-old Anna.
“I know this is my fate,” says Fatman. “I didn’t choose it. But I didn’t abandon it. I will be with her as long as she needs me.”
“For the world you are a mother. But for your child – you are the whole world.” That’s the kind of mother Fatman is. She does everything for her children.
In Georgia, people often say: “A mother’s love is the fuel that enables a person to do the impossible.” And truly – Fatman is ready to do the impossible for her daughters. But to keep fighting for Ana-Maria’s life, she needs our support – the help of kind hearts.
If you are willing to visit them and help them in person, here is her address: Zastafoni, Kvaliti settlement, 9 Maglakelidze Str.
