Death is very close if help is far away.
“I’m not afraid of dying. I’m afraid of leaving my children as orphans!”
Lung cancer is mercilessly consuming the life of 44‑year‑old Shorena. She is bravely fighting for every breath. It is terribly painful and frightening, but if she cannot undergo the decisive – final – course of chemotherapy, the love of her life, her children, will be left without a mother.
REPOST RIGHT AWAY, MY GOOD MAN! HELP YOUR FRIENDS TO GET CLOSER TO GOD!
Shorena, 44-year-old: “I don’t have enough air… I can’t take a full breath.” Lung cancer is taking away the most precious thing from this young woman – her ability to breathe.
Children… gentle, so gentle like a little girl! With the smile of an angel, six‑year‑old Tsotne, Shorena’s son, has decided to take his mother’s recovery into his own hands: “My mom is the kindest. When she feels bad, I hug her. She has no strength at all, and it’s hard for her to breathe! My poor mommy! I want her to get better. I want her to always be with me…”
Each evening, Tsotne plays doctor with his mom. He takes a stethoscope and listens to his mother’s heartbeat. He brings her medicine and a glass of water: “Drink, Mom. Get well.”
Shorena’s older son is a student. He studied and worked to help the family. When Shorena’s condition worsened, he took medical leave to come to his mother. Because of this, he lost his job. Now he is unemployed and looking for any way to help.
Please write heartfelt comments, share this message! Two young boys – two sons – must not be left without their mother at this moment. Their bright emotions can defeat what remains of the illness – science has proven that emotions are contagious! And separately, for those who can – write a letter to the Minister of Health! We will pass on all your comments and responses.
It all began with COVID. For 20 days Shorena was connected to a ventilator. She could not breathe on her own. Doctors gave no hope.
Shorena, 44: “I was between life and death. I didn’t know if I would wake up…”
But a true miracle happened – Shorena survived. And then she learned she had lung cancer.
In the photo on the left – Shorena before getting ill. On the right – Shorena today.
Energetic and strong, she spent four years caring for her seriously ill mother‑in‑law, then for her bedridden father‑in‑law. Day after day. Without days off. Without complaints. And now she herself needs help.
To support her husband and feed the children, Shorena made churchkhela and souvenirs for sale. She worked with her hands.
A little “mouse” presses close to his mom! Tsotne doesn’t understand why in recent months his mother hugs him so tightly and kisses him again and again. How we all loved, as children, to cling to our mother’s loving soul! The Lord Himself gave all of us our mothers. He dwells in those who love, because He Himself is Love. And now, even though we don’t see Him, we know for sure: He is here, looking at us through Tsotne’s eyes.
In Georgia, Shorena already had surgery and was sent home.
They said everything was behind her and nothing more was needed.
But five years later, an examination showed the tumor had returned.
Shorena, 44-year-old: “My husband and I had small savings – we were saving for repairs. I took that money and went to Turkey. Doctors found three tumor sites. One is near the heart. In Georgia they simply didn’t see it…”
My God… who examined her? “How many others have they examined?” And what about those who don’t even have a single tetri in their pocket?
Now surgery is no longer possible.
Radiation therapy either.
Shorena, 44-year-old: “The tumor is too close to the heart. To remove it, they would have to stop the heart… The only way is chemotherapy.”
Shorena has already undergone two courses of chemotherapy. The third is crucial. But there is no money left.
After chemotherapy, Shorena lost her hair. She still hasn’t looked at herself in the mirror. Even her children haven’t seen her like this. She hides her head under a hat – not because she is ashamed, but because she doesn’t want to frighten her children. And we at the foundation understand: it’s “just in case,” so the children won’t remember her like this. For children, a mother is the ultimate picture of beauty. And Shorena truly is a beautiful woman. Lord, give her back her beauty and her health!
If you feel the same, friends, write Shorena a letter so she knows she is not alone in her grief.
After chemotherapy, Shorena gives herself injections in the stomach. Without them, her body won’t endure the treatment.
Five injections cost $100
– an overwhelming sum for this family.
Each injection is painful, and with every dose, the same question haunts them:
where to get money for the next one?
Shorena’s husband works.
His salary is 1,200 lari.
The family has no other income.
Shorena, 44: “I try to be strong for the children. I don’t want them to see my tears…”
Shorena has already come halfway. The worst thing now is to be left without help in the middle of treatment. To continue treatment, Shorena needs:
— a course of chemotherapy
— PET‑CT
— genetic testing
— medications
— housing in Turkey
The next chemotherapy course for Shorena is a matter of life and death. Shorena is crying and pleading for help:
Shorena, 44-year-old: “I ask everyone who has the opportunity to help even with 1 lari… Help me survive for the sake of my children…”
Please help.
Right now.
Don’t leave Shorena’s children orphaned.
