I beg you, please help me – a modest and shy Georgian woman – stand on my feet again! Or at least be able to move around and wash myself on my own!

Only women will understand me when my two grown sons have to carry me naked into the bathroom and wash me. Such misfortune has happened… I wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy.

“Now my sons carry me in their arms…” – a mother left confined to a wheelchair after surgery

Lord, may everyone have sons like these.

“I feel so embarrassed,” cries 56-year-old Irma. “They wash me, dress me, take me to the toilet. Grown men! But I’m the one who was supposed to take care of them…” All her life, this mother carried her sons in her arms. And now — they carry her.

For several years Irma endured unbearable pain — the destruction of bone tissue in her hip joint. 

She kept working, kept holding on. But eventually she decided to undergo surgery. “I thought the pain would go away. But the opposite happened… Now everything below my waist feels as if it’s cut off from my body.” After the surgery, the woman ended up confined to a wheelchair. Completely immobile.

Irma urgently needs rehabilitation now – it is her only chance to stand again. Her sons work in construction, but they cannot earn that kind of money. “To save the neccessary amount, my boys would need years…” Without our help, Irma will remain helpless forever. Friends, let’s not take away her hope.
