This is Gohar, 57 years old. In all of Georgia, you would not find a lonelier or more miserable woman.

You’ve probably seen in horror films those terrifying walls of abandoned buildings – walls that frighten people, that no one even dares to approach.

Those very walls are the only home Gohar has. Listening to how this woman ended up in such a place sends chills down your spine.

Gohar, 57: “Years ago, I lost my mother. She was the only person I had. After she died, I was completely alone. Some people I knew took advantage of that. Through deception, they took my home. Then I was evicted, and I was left out on the street, under the open sky.”

From the Fund’s correspondent: Dear friends, Gohar told us this painful story and named specific individuals. However, since the official investigation has not yet reached a final conclusion, the Fund respects the presumption of innocence. The ruins where she now lives are so horrifying that words cannot fully describe them. We are sharing a small photo collage prepared by the Fund so you can see for yourselves.

But her suffering does not end there. Gohar collapsed in those ruins, and from that day on, her already hellish life became twice as unbearable She suffered a spinal injury, her leg became deformed, and severe nerve inflammation followed.

All of this has left her unable to walk. The tragedy is even deeper: because of her severe injuries, she not only cannot walk – she cannot even sit in a chair. She cannot bend her body.

Hungry and in pain, Gohar walks for miles every day with a stick in her hand just to reach a social canteen. The journey takes an hour and a half each way.

That means she spends three hours a day walking with a damaged spine and inflamed nerve * all for a piece of bread, a little lobio, and some watery soup.

Foundation journalist: “Gohar, perhaps I’m mistaken, but in your eyes I see that once you were deeply in love…”

Gohar, 57: “That was many years ago… It was a great love… My first love… My first and my last love. But he did not love me…”

As she said this, I saw in her eyes such unbearable pain that it frightened me… I was frightened by the thought

that perhaps the world can be so unjust – that it turns a great love into ashes and then scatters those ashes into endless space. Because when true love is lost, it turns the human heart into ashes as well.

And there she stood before me – a woman whose heart had turned to ashes.

God-fearing people, only you can ease even a small part of this dignified woman’s suffering. Gohar urgently needs medication.

Without surgery, she will never walk again. But she refuses the operation because she cannot imagine how she would recover in these ruins after being discharged from the hospital. In such conditions, her state would only worsen.
