He has lost half of his skull, but his heart is still fighting for life and still calling out for our compassion.

It is terrifying to walk into a room and see a man with only half of his head. The only sign of life Georgi shows is opening and closing his eyes.  After the hemorrhage, every minute counted. His brain was severely damaged, and to keep it from dying, doctors had to take an extreme step – they removed part of his skull.

This tragedy began with a medical mistake.

A year and a half ago, Georgi suffered a heart attack. He was taken to one of the most well-known clinics in Tbilisi. Doctors performed a heart stenting procedure – an operation that was supposed to save his life. But during the surgery, an infection entered his body. Through negligence. Through carelessness. A massive inflammation – nine centimeters in size – developed on his aortic valve. Within six months, he suffered three strokes in a row. Three devastating blows that literally erased the man he once was.

Look at him – he used to be a strong, healthy man. He worked assembling furniture, earning bread for his wife and son with his own hands.

Today the poor man lies motionless. He cannot turn over, cannot sit up, cannot even say that he is in pain. His joints have stiffened from constant immobility. Patients in such a severe condition desperately need daily rehabilitation – exercises, massage, and electrical stimulation.  Without it, the body gradually turns rigid, almost like stone.

Giorgi’s legs no longer straighten.  Please, have mercy on this man.

Doctors say he urgently needs reconstructive surgery to implant bone into his skull. This could help his brain function better. But heart surgery is impossible — he would not survive it.

We asked artificial intelligence to show what Georgi might look like after such an operation. In this image, his head is whole again – and you can immediately see how life seems to return to him. If there is even the smallest chance that he could speak again, move, smile, and be with his family – we must do everything we can to help him. Otherwise, we will never forgive ourselves.

His only son works as much as he can, but he himself survived a terrible accident and is unable to do heavy labor. Giorgi’s wife does not work – she stays by her husband’s side. To save Giorgi’s life, the family had to mortgage their apartment. But the money still isn’t enough for treatment. With Giorgi in such a critical condition, there is no one able to repay the loan – yet the bank could still evict the family at any moment. The loan is actually not large. Anyone who wishes to help can repay it – we will provide the details, and of course we will also continue raising funds ourselves.

Eka, Giorgi’s wife: “Sometimes it feels like every breath he takes could be his last… We pray and hope for kind people. I can’t leave him alone. I can’t leave him without help and let him die.”

Giorgi suffers from diabetes. He needs special nutrition. For a long time he was fed through a tube. Now he can swallow on his own, but with great difficulty. He has wasted away to skin and bones and cannot gain weight.

Georgi also suffers from severe bedsores. Even sleep becomes torture. Without constant medical care and treatment, bedsores can quickly become life-threatening. He needs ointments and bandaging materials, but there is no money for them.

Each day in the hospital costs 145 lari. Medications cost around 800 lari per month.

It is impossible to take him home. His wife tried to care for him herself, but his condition would rapidly worsen, and they had to call an ambulance again and again.

Try to imagine that the person lying between life and death right now is someone you love most in the world. Your husband. Your father. Your son. It is terrifying… May the Lord protect you and your families from such suffering on this earth.
