Tina, 68: “Please… save me. I don’t want to go. I don’t want to die. I want to live… I never imagined that a person could endure such pain…”

It all started with a small fatty lump. Be careful, friends! Check your body in the morning, and if you notice even the smallest lump – don’t wait for trouble. Go to a doctor immediately!

That’s how it began for this unfortunate woman. It seemed like nothing serious… but suddenly it burst like a volcano and turned into a giant tumor on her breast that now bleeds, festers, and keeps growing. Her condition gets worse every day. The poor woman doesn’t even have money for basic wound-cleaning solution. The risk of infection is becoming more and more terrifying.

In her tiny room it is as cold as outside. There is no heating, and the only window is broken. There is no hot water, no washing machine, not even a bathroom – and a seriously ill woman confined to bed cannot even be bathed properly.

To keep warm, Tina places a bottle of warm water at her feet. There has been no food in the house for a long time – for a week now there hasn’t even been bread.

Tina’s husband died in a terrible accident. He was only 33 years old. She was left completely alone with two small daughters. For the sake of her girls she worked to exhaustion and endured poverty.

What a tragedy!

This very kind woman, worn down by life, now lies gravely ill – almost blind, having survived three strokes, suffering from blood pressure as high as 200, without medicine or food. She had no money for treatment and she had to sell her home – now she is left without housing.

For two years Tina hid her terrible illness from her daughters. She stayed silent, endured the pain, and said nothing… because she knew her girls had no way to help. They themselves needed support. Only when the illness became unbearable did she finally confess through tears that she had cancer.

Tina, 68: “I can’t go to a doctor. I have no money. Who would carry me down from the fourth floor? I cannot walk. I am confined to bed. My arm and leg are paralyzed…”

Tina’s daughter is also seriously ill.

Nonna, 43: “I went to work at a grape harvest to earn at least some money, and I fell from a height of six meters. I suffered a head injury and I have constant pain in my legs. I also badly damaged my teeth. I have no money for treatment. But I’m not thinking about myself – the main thing is to save my mother.”

Tina urgently needs surgery. The tumor is growing and destroying her body. It is terrifying, friends, but without doctors’ help she may not live to see tomorrow.

Right now, this unfortunate woman lives only on a pension and a social allowance of 50 lari. But how can she possibly find money for expensive medicines? She has been prescribed strong medications but buying them is simply impossible. Even the painkillers were brought by her neighbor – Tina has no other support.
