Nugzar is 51 years old. He is paralyzed and bedridden – like an infant, completely dependent on his mother. He cannot get up, cook, take his medication, go to the bathroom, or even ask for help. 

He is still alive only because his mother is by his side, doing everything for him – every single minute of his life: feeding him, giving him water, changing his diapers, bathing him.

Nugzar has no wife, no children. This young, intelligent, kind man once dreamed of having a family, of becoming a father – but cruel fate took those dreams away. Marina weeps, grieving that she never saw her son’s happiness and never had the chance to hold her own grandchildren.

If his mother is gone, there will be no one left to care for him. In his condition, a person cannot survive alone even for a few days. 

Old age and illness have changed her face, but not her loving heart. She suffers from cancer (stage 3 lymphoma), diabetes, and high blood pressure. Marina can barely hear, yet she keeps going with the last of her strength. 

Their life feels like a never-ending nightmare. Marina’s husband was killed when he tried to stop a criminal and paid for it with his life.

Her only son, Nugzar, was once a young, educated man who spoke five languages fluently.  After a serious accident, he suffered a head injury that led to hematoma.

He underwent two major brain surgeries, after which swelling caused him to lose his memory and speech, and left the right side of his body paralyzed.

Look at him… this is who Nugzar used to be – handsome, successful, with a smile that could light up the world.

Left alone with their tragedy, these kind, gentle people are now living in extreme poverty.

Nugzar was once surrounded by friends and colleagues who respected and loved him. Now, his only hope is his mother. There is no one else nearby to lend them a helping hand…
