It is impossible to look at this photo without feeling
pain in your heart. But if you visit the place of Chaligava sisters you will be
shocked by what you will see. It is the very state which is called “living
beyond the poverty line”. Yes, poverty and despair reside here. They
embraced this family waiting for help but still without success.

24-year old Asmat and 17-year old Tinatin were born
with physical and psychiatric disorders. Unfortunately their parents did not
have a possibility to take care of their health and to socialize them when they
were little.

The life of these girls is extremely painful. God save
everyone from such a fate! Chaligava family lives in horrible conditions in the
outskirts of Poti city. It is beyond human understanding how they have been
surviving all this time. Social allowance hardly suffices for bread, and almost
no money is left for expensive medicines or hygiene products.

Asmat and Tinatin are not aggressive at all, although
this is usual for their illness. They are very friendly and communicative, they
are always ready to give you a hug… But the bad thing is that very few people
are ready to talk to them: everyone turns their back to them.

“I pray God that somebody looks at us and shows
mercy to my girls, and if just a little facilitates our life”, – says the
mother of Asmat and Tinatin in despair. She tells about the horrible conditions
in which the family is living, about the pain devouring the mother’s heart…

 They almost
have nothing unbroken. Everything in their house is terribly worn out. All the
kitchenware is cracked, the furniture is dilapidated, the floor has rotten long
ago… In a word, it is total misery.

Oh, it would be so wonderful if these girls encounter
some people who would give them warmth of their heart, who would present them
with kindness and some small assistance! Yes, they catastrophically lack food,
medicines and hygiene products, they are literally sinking in helplessness and
if we do not help them now, the fate of Asmat and Tinatin will be hanging by a
single hair…
