Ill children
Nikoloz was born with this terrible condition 15 years ago, and every day since has been a living nightmare. He cannot talk. He can only make a few sounds. The poor boy can’t even close his mouth properly. And even when he manages to do so, it’s only for a couple of minutes – then the two tongues push it open again. It’s heartbreaking. It’s worse than a nightmare.
And this is not the only issue he faces. There’s what looks like a hump growing on his back. He suffers from intense spinal pain. Nikoloz was also born with a severe congenital heart defect.
His first heart surgery was done when he was a newborn. The second and third were performed when he was five and seven. But the most terrifying part is that Nikoloz was born without an atrial septum, and his heart has only three chambers instead of four. This means oxygen and carbon dioxide mix together in his blood. His life is constantly hanging by a thread, and his heart could stop at any moment. Oh Lord, please don’t let this tragedy happen to the Berberashvili family. Nikoloz also struggles to walk. He can only take a few steps before collapsing from exhaustion. The rest… well, you can probably imagine yourself, dear reader.

Karina: “These are the exercises I do with my daughter every day. It’s our entire treatment! Sometimes, we don’t even have enough money for food! And I’m walking around in torn shoes myself!” “The problem is, I often suffer from terrible headaches too! But going for a consultation – there’s no money for that! And then I’m helpless… And my heart aches for my child!” How far is a mother willing to go for the health of her child? What sacrifices is she ready to make? How many days can she go without food, and how many years can she wear the same torn shoes, just to ensure her only joy isn’t deprived? And how long can she ignore her excruciating headaches that are killing her? “My daughter is my whole world. I have no one but her and we’re alone in this entire world! How we manage to survive – I don’t know. But perhaps God loves my Juliette and won’t leave us.”

Friends, this boy has endured a grueling three-year fight with cancer. He has bravely undergone 9 rounds of chemotherapy, 31 radiation treatments, and several complex surgeries, including the removal of his right kidney and a bone marrow transplant. For a moment, it seemed like the worst was behind him, that the danger had passed. But the cancer came back—a relapse. Neuroblastoma progresses rapidly, spreading metastases throughout the body at an alarming rate. This is why Nikoloz’s mother made the urgent decision not to waste any time and take him to Turkey for treatment. The last hope for saving Nikoloz is an expensive chemotherapy course. Each round costs $50,000, and he will need five rounds in total—amounting to $250,000. This treatment is his ticket to life, but his family cannot afford it. If we don’t help Nikoloz complete this lifesaving chemotherapy, it will be as if we are signing his death sentence. Our support can give this boy the chance to emerge victorious from this brutal battle. We cannot stop now. Nikoloz’s family has hope left only in God and the kindness of compassionate people.

Don’t think this photo is a scene from a TV drama. Unfortunately, this is reality, and it is happening in our small country. Twelve-year-old Megi burst into tears when she saw a Fund’s correspondent come to her home. This little girl began to tell such a tragic story about her family that one could think she was recounting a tragic film plot. Malicious death took away her beloved brother soon after birth, and now it is trying to take his twin brother, three-year-old Zuka. The cursed poverty turns death against him even more. The Pipia family is living in hell.

Friends, tragedy has struck a Georgian family—the Kvinikadzes. A sudden fire engulfed their home. The desperate cries of the children— “Help us!” —seemed to reach the heavens. Maybe they truly did. Because somehow, miraculously, the children were saved from being consumed by the flames. But little Nikoloz, just two years old, still bears the scars of the fire on his legs. Local authorities promised to help rebuild the hous next to the ruins, but the family has lost all hope. And you might be wondering—why? Why have they lost faith that the state will keep its word? Because after losing everything, the family turned to local authorities for urgent aid – just 1,500 GEL to help them get by. They were promised this amount, but they are still waiting. And so, they have no reason to believe that help will come. Their only hope now is you. To be fair, the Gori local government has been covering the rent for the seven-member family, who are temporarily living in a cramped two-room apartment. But for how long? And how can these children continue living in such conditions? Even if you donate just one lari, it will bring these little angels one step closer to having a home again – no matter how small. Georgia must come together! If each of us contributes enough for just one brick, these children will no longer be homeless. And this kindness it will come back to you, to your children, to your grandchildren, in ways only God can know.

Yes, the poor mother’s lower back is paralyzed, but she is ready to carry her daughter in her arms as long as she lives.

Nino calls this place “the palace”. When you have nowhere to go with your two-year-old son, a roof over your head is both a home and a fortress for you. No matter if this place is completely unsuitable for living. Nino, as if in a nightmare, recalls how she left home with a baby in her arms and lived in a shelter for victims of domestic violence for one year: “Not everyone gets the kind of family he dreams about. Dreams eventually cease to visit you, when you have only one thought in your head – how to feed your child.”

Older people living alone
“There is not a whole spot on me!” I suffered a heart attack three times, I had a stroke twice. Three times I was operated on my heart, four times – on my eyes. One of my eyes is good for nothing. The doctor said it withers – I’m waiting. And it hurts so much. The medications are expensive – I can not always buy them.

I have never seen so many hopelessly unhappy, sick, and poor people in one family together before! Recently, this family already buried little Lazare. And now they are losing their second child… Elene has a critical vitamin D deficiency, and it causes numerous health problems for the child, but the family cannot afford to take her to a doctor due to poverty. However, dear readers, I must tell you the most important thing now. The child’s eyes are sad because she fears that her sister Barbara will die just like her brother Lazare. Elene loves her older sister more than she loves herself. “Aunt, did you come here because we can’t buy me medicine, and will you help us? I beg you, aunt, help my sister instead of me,” the child said, and a large tear rolled down her blue eyes. A grief-stricken mother now only hopes that kind people will save her Barbare. The child urgently needs a genetic test in Germany. The family, displaced from Sukhumi, doesn’t even have their own home to sell. They have nothing, absolutely nothing of their own.

Every day, loving mother and father pray to God that He return their health to their son and at least do so that his bones do not hurt.
