Let the pain of these unfortunate souls resonate in your hearts. They cannot endure without our care, without our assistance. They will silently fade away, not even realizing what took their lives Those who do not regard them as fellow citizens of Georgia, just like us, might find themselves unaware of what tomorrow holds! In these ruins lives a family doomed to suffering and loneliness. Both the father, the mother, and their daughter are ill. Severely ill. While they may appear physically healthy, they can't even take care of themselves. Despite Dmitry's severe intellectual disability, his mother dreamed that her son would find love and create a family. She dreamed of finding him a lonely girl like him - a social outcast - to marry. In the neighboring village of Vale, they found a kindred spirit – Maia. 34 years ago, their daughter Tamara was born. Sadly, she inherited all the illnesses from her parents. She can't talk, she walks with difficulty, and understands nothing.

'They are so helpless that they don't even know how to live.’

While grandmother - Dmitry's mother - was alive, she took care of her sick relatives. However, after her passing, this unfortunate family was left entirely alone. Like small children, they are unable to look after themselves. But God sends them kind people who, despite their own struggles, do not leave Dmitry, Maia, and Tamara alone.  It was these compassionate neighbors who informed the Fund about the terrible situation of the Panchvidze family, and they will help us get in touch with the family.

"Dmitry's mother wanted to find a suitable wife for her son, who would take care of him."

- If it weren't for you, Zinaida, we wouldn't have learned about this family.  They are like hermits - nothing connects them to the world.

Zinaida (neighbor): You are right. They are like outcasts.  They have no one in this world.  Only we, the neighbors, worry about them. If we don't check on them every day, they'll just die. They won't even understand why they died. We need to remind them even to eat.

- How long have you known this family, and who helps them live?

Zinaida: They've been living here for a long time. Dmitry's parents lived here. While his mother was alive, she took care of all of them. But then, after her death, they almost died themselves. One is worse than the other. And their daughter is sick. She can't even walk without outside help. Or rather, she walks, but she doesn't understand where to go and for what.   Sometimes she even forgets how to walk. And she's already 34 years old.

“Tamara can't even walk without outside help. Or rather, she walks, but she doesn't understand where to go and for what.   Sometimes she even forgets how to walk.”

– Did Dmitry and Maia suffer from intellectual issues since childhood?  How did they meet?  How did they decide to start a family, and have a child?

Zinaida: Dmitry has been like this since childhood. He attended school for a couple of years, but then they realized he couldn't continue. He also has problems with his legs; his heels are crooked. His mother always said she would find him a wife so he wouldn't feel lonely - someone who could take care of him when she was gone. We always thought she was joking.  But in the neighboring village, they found a girl, Maia, with the same problems. So they got married. Then Tamara was born. Everyone hoped her illness would pass her by, but her condition is worse than her parents'.

Maia: They showed me Dima and said, "This is your husband."  And I was playing dodgeball at the time. And then I became his wife.

"They showed me Dima and said: 'You will be his wife.' So I became his wife."

- How do health problems affect their daily lives?

Zinaida: Look at how they live. They are completely helpless. They don't know what money is or what it can buy. They don't know that food needs to be cooked and the house needs to be cleaned. They only bathe when we help them.  But they can eat on their own and go to the toilet. So, they need constant supervision.

Maia: I know how to make soup. Put water on the stove, then add bread – and the soup is ready!

"Look, I cooked soup. In the water, you need to put bread and garlic – and that's it."

- They live in terrible conditions. Have they always lived in this building?

Zinaida: No, they lived in their house, but it collapsed. Neighbors built this room together, installed a window. But there's still a lot to do. It would be great to bring gas and install a heater. Our neighborhood isn't wealthy, and people here do what they can to help these poor ones. But in winter, as you can imagine, everyone's expenses go up, and I'm afraid they might freeze here. That's why I addressed you.  Some foundations only help little children, others only those with cancer. I've heard that the Chernovetskyi Fund doesn't discriminate between categories of people; You help anyone in need.

Dmitry has a deformation of the heel, and he can barely move with the help of two crutches.

– Are they registered with a doctor? Are they receiving medical treatment?  Maybe they need some medical assistance?

Zinaida: We - neighbors - take them to the doctors too. To qualify Tamar for a disability pension, I took her to the clinic. I was so worried she wouldn't suddenly get sick. Taking such responsibility for someone else's child is not easy. But when there's no other way, you have to act. Probably, she will also be assigned a pension soon.

"My daughter is the most beautiful daughter."

– How do Dmitry and Maia take care of their daughter? How do they look after her in their condition?

Zinaida: They are always together. Like chicks. They even go to the yard together to get water. I feel sorry for them. I look at them and think that Dimitri's mom wanted to do a good deed for her son, but what did it turn out to be? But who am I to judge? Without God's will, not even a hair falls from a person's head.  This poor woman probably thought their lives would turn out better, but it turned out very sadly.

“To keep them from freezing in those four walls, they urgently need to get gas installed”

- As far as I see, the fact that this family is still alive is the merit of the neighbors. Is there any support from the authorities?

Zinaida: Everyone knows this family. And when we need help with something, we turn to them. We have a very good mayor - Gocha Kimadze. They help them in any way they can.

"I wonder what Tamara dreams about? Maybe she needs something, but she can't tell us?"

- How can we help you?

Zinaida: If you can arrange at least one room for them, so it doesn't resemble a pigsty, install gas, buy a heater, their happiness will know no bounds. It's also necessary to patch up the roof a bit so that the rain doesn't flood. We'll again be buying the rest for them. But if you can provide them with some food supplies for the winter, of course, it will be easier for them.

They are forever confined to their own world within four walls, where happiness and joy pass them by. We must take guardianship over this family. Their suffering is boundless, and without our help, they are doomed to torment and loneliness.

The cold winter is approaching soon, so now, more than ever, they are on the brink of survival. Helpless, infinitely lonely, they unknowingly experience fear and pain every day.

Our hearts must respond to their suffering and loneliness. We must do everything to help them find even a small share of happiness and a dignified life. For a moment, feel their suffering and loneliness. Do not leave them in this cold and endless darkness. Please support our mission and help this family survive the winter.

If you are willing to visit the family and help them in person, here is their address: Adigeni municipality, village Kvemo Enteli.

Every time you can help someone, just do it, and rejoice that God answers someone's prayers through you!
